Sex & Nudity

  • 2 different scenes both with rear nudity
  • Two teenage boys masturbate while staring at each other. It is highly implied due to arm movements and facial expressions.
  • Two boys camp outside on dunes, and start making out and have sex, but the camera cuts away and we only hear soft breathing from the outside of the tent. It is never confirmed if they did have sex, but is highly implied.
  • Later, it is highly implied the same boys have had sex outside at least twice, but it is never confirmed.
  • We hear a couple having sex, and groaning loudly, before they are disturbed by another character. You don't see anything, just hear it.
  • The film contains some natural nudity as a man undresses to get into a shower and as a boy strips off on the beach before running into the sea. The only nudity in the film is buttock-nudity.
  • A boy draws topless pictures of a boy who he loves. In one of them, the picture goes down to just below his waist, and you see mild detail on pubic hair.
  • It is said that one character sleeps around with a lot of men, and when one leaves, she finds and moves onto another man.

Violence & Gore

  • Very mild and infrequent.
  • A young boy pushes another boy in the stomach hard while on the beach, causing him to fall down. But it doesn't cause him any pain.
  • Later on, a boy grabs hold of another boy's collar and pushes him against the wall as if about to hit him, but nothing happens.

Profanity

  • There is some mild language, such as 'prick', 'slut' and 'shit'.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • There is the sight of cigarette smoking by several characters.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A family is poor, and the mother in the family is ill. She worked in a cafeteria, and stole sugar packets. It is implied this is because of money problems and is slightly depressing. The same woman dies later on in the film.
  • The main character is in love with a boy who falls in love with another girl, and leaves, leaving the main boy heart broken and lost throughout most of the movie.
  • A boy strips naked and runs into the ocean. The scene cuts to a funeral hearse driving slowly down a street with people walking behind it. It makes you think for a moment that the boy drowned, and it's his funeral. But it turns out it's the funeral as the woman mentioned above who is ill, when the boy appears talking to other characters.
