"Inflatable Swamp" is a British 13-minute live action short film from 2010, so almost a decade old now. Writer and director is William Feroldi and this is still his only filmmaking effort until this point. Which may be a good thing unless he drastically improved. Oh well, I guess the script isn't all bad, but the story kinda is. It really dragged, even at considerably under 15 minutes. What a disappointment. The first half is basically the protagonist's lengthy morning routine, the second half is him having a guest for sex. The minor supposedly entertaining plot points like the head-in-water scene in the bathtub, the blue balloons in the bathroom or the pieces of cake seem half-baked (no pun intended) and just for the sake of it instead of telling a quality story. So this is eventually the epitome of an empty style-over-substance gay-themed movie we have here. I am saying this despite certainly not liking or approving of the term "gay-themed" because there are no hetero-themed films either and the sexuality of certain characters should never be enough as a motivation for somebody to watch a movie really, especially if this aspect even results in people overrating a genuinely weak film like this one here only because of the characters' sexual preferences. This was not a good watch. Go skip it and it certainly does not say anything positive about the long-running Boys on Film series if they picked this one up for the 10th installment. or you can also see it the other way around that it does not say anything positive about gay-themed films nowadays (or a decade ago) if bad production like this one are considered among the best the year has to offer. In short, don't watch. Definitely avoid at all costs.
