I see the trolls have voted this down each episode

Impressive series in a difficult genre. Cast were brilliant with impressive storyline, with beautiful shots of Melbourne.

More Hugo Weaving
philhayes8018 January 2022
The world really does need more Hugo Weaving in TV shows, we have truly missed out. Hugo puts in an award winning performance, so does the entire cast. Beautifully done.

This is an Aussie show that delivers against global content. I felt like I was watching the real lives if people in Melbourne. Highly recommended, funny, witty, relatable and definitely binge worthy.

Pandemic Show!
Florellagundumbo31 December 2021
A show shot in Melbourne during the pandemic is surreal. However, despite that, it turned out wonderful. Talented, fantastic actors in every role. I loved Peter and his son Max, both Filipino Australian played by the talented Bob Morley and John Sharp. It's so rare to see actors that actually share an ethnicity play parent and child, usually the child ends up played by white actor and taking after the white parent in media, so that is certainly refreshing.

Bojana and Bobs Clara and Peter were the main reason I watched, but I also enjoyed Hugo Weavings performance as the grief stricken patriarch finding new love so suddenly after loss, but dealing with the guilt that brings.

Everyone outdone themselves.

Fantastic

Adored this show. Loved seeing the actors, New (to me) alike. Bob Morley insanely talented and I thoroughly enjoyed the actors progression into softer roles. Badass and heartthrob, he can do it all.

Loved it!

So trolls are voting down every episode just because they hate ONE male actor. So miserable. Girls, find yourself another show, this one is obviously not for you.

As for the show, quite a good adaptation from the Swedish version, and is even better than I expected. The cast is also brilliant and the actors did a good job. Bojana and Bob are creating a fantastic couple, bringing both comedy and angst in the story. Well done.

Anyway, the most touching story is Glen's and I hope we will get Season 2.

Oh yeah, shots of Melbourne are also fantastic.

Oh! It's a remake
Jamesfelix-248346 June 2022
I really enjoyed this one, it's one of the better Australian shows to have come out in the last few years, and thanks to performances of its cast it really soars! I didn't realize it was a remake until I googled the show and I wonder how much of it was original additions and how much was pulled from the original. But all in all it's really enjoyable! Just give Hugo the logie now.

It has been a while
Deereviews730 December 2021
It has been a while since a show made me feel so much in the span of six episodes, laughter, love, grief and much more. The acting is fantastic on all accounts, the quality is great and everything seems done professionally.

Very Much Enjoyed
VioSecretlyObsessedFan31 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I very much enjoyed this Aussie adaptation to the Swedish show. It's nuanced, the actors fit their roles perfectly. Good to see Hugo back on the screen with his portrayal of Glen, a man who just lost his wife after booking a vacation for the two. His daughter Clara encourages him to go ahead on the romance holiday, where he meets the lovely Anita and falls head over heels all while coping with his recent grief.

Bojana Novakevic as Clara is oftentimes a bit of a pain, but she finally learns that a perfect relationship doesn't exist- but that one with the beautiful, lovable Peter who let's Clara know that he wants to be with her and won't put up with her Hot/Cold antics. Bojana is a wonderful actress and brought Clara to life.

William as Aaron, I found to be whiny and childish at times, even often manipulative in his romantic pursuits. However, he grows a little, leaves a toxic relationship only to grow up a little when he's pulled right back into it.

Bob Morley as Peter. Wow. I previously seen him in another show, and his ability to turn off my mind from thinking about that character while playing a whole different one, astounding. I look forward to his future in acting and hope to see a second season given how we left off with Clara and Peter.

Slow but poignant
mccabe-shannon13 September 2022
It's slow (or too fast!!??). It's like so much happens that not really anything happens. But it's lovely to see the same time period from 3 very different perspectives.

How much times was supposed to have passed anyway? It seems like a few weeks but like how?

If I were any one of them I wouldn't have even started living again, which I can tell you from experience. I wish it gave us a bit more information on that.

Anyway, I'm glad I watched it. I really enjoyed all of the main actors. It's a quick watch that's worth it. I also really liked the few side characters there were, they added something without being distracting or useless. Since episodes are short as is the season, everything really had a point, from silences to what you'd typically think would be filler.

Enjoyable
kq99930 December 2021
Love Me is a series that I did enjoy watching. It moves through the lives of the three people involved at a very quick pace. It is realistic in the sense that it touches on the feelings most of us would experience in similar situations. It could really develop into a series that lasts a few seasons.

Liked it, but Swedish version (original) is better
silmaril-611 March 2023
I generally don't like the trend to remake fresh shows, barely two years old (i e. Ghosts UK and in this case Alska Mig) Originals are, in my opinion, always better and more sincere. Ghost US at some point provided something new compared to (in severy aspect superior) UK show, but not this one, this one is plain copy-paste of Swedish show. And it's also inferior to the original, but not bad at all, quite likeable. Just really no need to watch both shows, they are identical. Apart from cast, of course, spoken language and scenary/city. Australian cast is also great and they did great job. Too bad the scenario was carbon copy of Swedish one, with no original elements at all.

Excessive slurpy kissing sounds
aravindvista29 April 2022
Series is OK but every few minutes you have to listen to people kissing. Kissing sound effects are excessive and very loud, I had to mute every few minutes.

This is something special
FarmeBoye31 December 2021
I've been a fan of Hugo Weaving all my life so I always tune in when I see his name. I didn't really know what to expect with this, but at the end of six episodes I have to say I have even more admiration and respect for him than ever before. What a beautiful and brave performance! Soap operas are not my thing so I haven't seen Bob Morley in anything else but I have a feeling he will be in a lot more things in the future. His ability to capture a man that has struggled to find acceptance and love beyond the superficial, and is still willing to offer his heart to someone...wow. I can only say it seems that this actor is drawing on a deep well of life experience and self-awareness. Both Weaving and Morley have set the standard in this show for portraying male vulnerability and it was truly a work of art from both. I didn't know of Bojana Novakovic either, (nor the other young actors for that matter.) Novakovic is another one I'll be keeping an eye out for. Funny, lovely, and expressive. I felt everything she felt just by watching her facial expressions. Both she and Morley were able to do so much with such subtlety. I hope the producers realize what a gem they have in each of these actors and continue to give them opportunities to share their talents. Bravo!!

Three generations
FLORentineLIEabetes30 December 2021
Three generations of family struggling with life and love after the matriarch of the family passes. Hugo Weaving, Bojana Novakevic, and Bob Morley are fantastic in their roles and made this an easy and fun watch. I binged the entire series in one afternoon.

Loved love me
bbeth-223531 January 2022
Well written and good acting. Loved the performances. Of Hugo Weaving and Bojana Novakovic and Bob Morley. Please let there be a season 2. It's rare to find a show like this. Hopefully it gets worldwide distribution.

From Binge website - Love Me is an Australian Drama series and the first original production of streaming service. Set in Melbourne, LOVE ME is a story about love, loss and the complexity of family relationships experienced by three different family members at distinct times of life.

Loved it!
tlarraya24 November 2022
Loved it! I really hope there is a second season and hopefully many more. We just need more TV shows that cheer us up and are lovely instead of dark, creepy or depressing. It is really well acted. All the actors and actresses do an amazing job. And it´s not too cheesy. The story plot is believable. I really enjoyed it. Hope there was some place where it would recommend more TV shows based on the fact that we really like this one. It is sweet like Bridgertons, This Is Us, Sweet Magnolias, The Guilded Age, The Empress or The Summer I Turned Pretty. We just need more of those as guilty pleasures.

1st Aussie show I've watched
annetillman16 January 2022
I'm so glad I decided to watch this. I cannot believe there are other reviews annihilating Bob Morley. I think every actor in this series was perfect and their acting was on point. The feelings and emotions shown of regret, anger, sadness, and love was so real and heartfelt, not some made for tv bologna. If you don't like this show there is something wrong. Give it a chance if this is a genre you are into which is a family going through real life struggles of love, life and work.

Raw and real
Scampi196529 April 2023
Whilst this show may not be a good fit for some people, the story, acting and so much more here makes this series "top tier". Each actor here carries a role so complex, brilliantly.

There are no weak links here. The story is seamless, the cinematography outstanding and for me, I am finally able to feel Australian cinema has finally arrived in a competitive world of media, with a huge bang.

The emotional journey here is all too real, cleverly interwoven in one family with the war between loss and grief combined with love and life.

Simply brilliant and unmissable. Do yourself a favour and consume every intense moment of this wonderful series.

Poor writing sinks attempt to emulate Love My Way
Smedsta16 January 2022
This show feels like it's angling to be a new Love My Way, but it falls short of it on most levels. Especially the writing.

I found the interactions of Bojana Novakovic's character in episode one to be completely unbelievable. She goes on a date with a nasty bloke who it turns out is only looking for sex, and then when she tells her close colleague friend and then her family about this awful experience, they tell her that she's just too picky with her men. What's stopping these characters from empathising with her, when these are people she's supposed to be closest to? Search me.

The supporting characters that interact with Hugo Weaving in the same episode, from the travel agent to the neighbour in the supermarket, are caricatured nasty people who are pricks only because the drama needs there to be a prick so we can feel sympathy for him. This means the dramatic tension doesn't come from any kind of intriguing clash of goals; it's just our protagonist good guys vs. Plainly nasty people.

Even the supporting character we meet at the end of the first ep is plainly set up to be Bojana's dream guy with zero subtlety. These characters feel so archetyped and the writing so forced to be entirely about their relationship status through the whole thing that it loses any sense of realism that prestige drama should try to aim for. Unlike, say, "Bump", which has their characters feel human and real because we see different sides of their life, not just talking about the exact same things for every scene.

Can't fault the performances of the actors, but surely we can produce better drama that's deemed to be at a "prestige" level.

Something different but still really good
m0vi3land31 December 2021
I had my doubts when I came into it because I'm not a big fan of foreign productions so this one being recommended by a friend I decided to give it a try. And I can honestly say that I was not disappointed and it ended being a lovely surprise. Everything was spectacular from the casting (loved Bob Morley and Hugo Weaving in it) to the stories they show told and the beautiful scenery of Melbourne.

So everyone who had anything negative to says about it, its pretty clear they don't know how to appreciate good art. As for those who still have doubts I'd suggest you give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Time well spent
oldguy754727 January 2022
I thoroughly enjoyed this series. The characters were believable and all the actors did a great job in their roles. Even the brother who was so annoying did a great job, he made me uncomfortable but I am pretty sure that was the point. I am not sure there will be a season 2 if there is it may be a bust. I actually liked the way they left it.

Unpolluted, honest storytelling
anthonyjlangford8 January 2022
How refreshing it is to have a series about people and emotion with all its insecurities and peaks and troughs. Also reveals much of where we're at in times of relationships. It's never been easier with apps. It's never been harder to make anything work.

Refreshing in the sense, that it's not tainted by the over-inflated obsession with wokeism, which seemed to have started in America and now is common in certain aspects of other territories (eg BBC/ABC). They think they're 'opening doors' or saving the world or some such grandiose rubbish but all they're doing is segregating people into race and gender groups, the opposite of what they purport to be against.

All people all flawed. All have qualities. That's clear here. The emotions are raw and real and universal. It has that quality of truth lacking in most productions today, no matter how good they may look.

Not having seen what this is based on, it's hard to credit the writers with the story and content but whoever came up with it deserves credit. It's the honesty we need.

If there were some sort of survey, I guarantee you'd find that relationships are lasting for less time and fewer people are creating new ones. 'Fur babies' seems the preference over human ones. We've lost the art of real life connection. We've inadvertently, perhaps through the introduction of the internet, created a self absorbed culture. Where everyone's pretending to be happy, smiling face!... to keep up the social media façade of a great life.

And now we're seeing the results. People are floundering. They're lonely. There's never been so many people crying out for something real. This series reveals that. We want more 'realness' and less of the superficial. A phone cannot make you happy. It's a pretense as company but it's empty.

This is the antidote we need.

Very well made, in all areas. Acting, direction, music. And not stretched out to ten episodes like a lot of Netflix and co. Shows today. To the point.

Loved it.
