Yikes, not sure why this movie was made or why John Cusack is in it, but it's remarkably bad. Poorly casted, very weak acting (especially Hirsch... what was that?!), badly timed, sloppy editing, unimaginative story, clumsy action, no likeable characters. Avoid. Definitely avoid.

Really bad. John Cusack plays Nicholas Cage playing John Cusack... Why was this movie made? Did John have a gambling debt? Was Emile trying to sabotage his career? Who knows?... Why did John dye his hair pitch black like Steven Seagal? So many questions, no good answers.

Story? There isn't any. At least any that makes any sense. Acting? There isn't any. Direction? There isn't any. Action? LOL! Amateurish, if I wanted to pay a compliment, but I don't feel like to, so: ridiculous. Waste of time? Plenty. Forget about watching this, you surely have better things to do.

The first shootout in the hotel room is just bad, like really bad. Not just the filming, but the way it's choreographed is completely stupid. One guy has an AK47 shooting through the window while the guy inside hides under the bed. Huh? The rounds from that would penetrate the brick walls of the place, there is no hiding behind something. For added senseless mayhem, an innocent woman is shot in the back outside the room.
Then tattoo-boy who is too cool to be afraid yells out, "We're clear." No, you aren't clear. Money is flying up off of the bed in an attempt to stylize this intelligence-insulting scene. How does it rain up? Then tattoo-boy fired about ten rounds at the guy from pointblank and misses? That is some truly terrible shooting.
A ridiculous foot pursuit follows this with both men at a pace like they may or may not want to catch the bus that is passing by, but if they miss it, no biggie. The tattoo-boy takes a swan dive off of a stair balcony for no real reason, something that probably would have put him in a wheelchair for life which would have sped him up as he can't run. Another innocent citizen is shot in a shopping mall. In the aftermath, the cop who was shot literally just needs a band-aid. I don't think gunshots work like that. The round hit him square enough to knock him to the floor.
They have four writers on this thing and none of them can see that there is a typo in a headline of a news article shown onscreen: "Drug Lord Sentanced to Life in Prison." Now that is some quality film making.
The kid's like eight but only three candles on his birthday cake? So, the writers can't spell or count.

This is a b action movie that takes itself so serious with a complicated story ends up being boring, Action scenes are cheap and uncreative just lots of guns, Everyone in the movie is miscast the roles does not fit the actors, horrible editing and sound mixing and I'm not an expert but it's so bad anyone can notice it, simply this a direct to DVD Bruce Willis movie but he was too busy making other horrible movies they hired John Cusack instead and he gives a lazy sleepy performance just like willis does in his movies lately.

The story is weak and it's not told well. The dialogue is unnatural. The acting is majorly subpar, even for how bad it is. Some of the stuff is just bizarre (like the CI coming into the diner and immediately shoving Detective Breslin for no clear reason). Just don't watch it.

It's one of the worst films I've ever watched in my entire life. This film is so boring and so dull. I even felt sleepy. Even it hit 55 minutes of runtime, I don't see much progress. The speed is so slow and the director isn't good. The story is so bring, so, I nearly fell asleep. Thus, I gave up and stopped watching after 55 minutes.
My advice is that don't watch this film unless you want to fall asleep right away.

PURSIT is really surprising movie. It is difficult to follow and there many characters and none of them seems be a good person; but when you begin to understand what is happening things become very very interesting.
In order avoid spoilers, let's say there a hacker looking for his kidnapped wife. A lot of criminals betraying among themselves and a lot of very violent deaths.
Emily Hirsh and John Cusack are very good; followed by Elizabeth Faith Ludlow. The other characters are not that good but enough to keep the movie on.
Prepare for a violence feast.

This was complicated enough that it should've been a 10 x 1hr ep TV show to explain it all and let you get to know who was who. Instead it got crammed into a couple hours. I'm still not sure how it all hangs together and who all the people were, so it left me with a sense of a number of random scenes of some people attacking some other people but not quite sure why!
This was a can of rubbish...

Well, John Cusack is not a guaranteed seal of proper entertainment. And I can say that after having suffered through the 2022 action thriller "Pursuit".
Sure, I had never heard about "Pursuit" from writers Brian Skiba, Andrew Stevens, Dawn Bursteen and Ben Fiore prior to sitting down to watch it. So I didn't know what I was getting myself into here, but I figured that the movie would be adequate, since it had both John Cusack and Emile Hirsch on the cast list.
But that was not to be, because director Brian Skiba delivered what best can be described only as an ambitious low budget action thriller, just without the proper entertainment value that you would expect. So yeah, the movie was a swing and a miss.
The storyline was sluggish at best, and I never really delved into the storyline or the characters, since both were rather mundane and sort of pointless. "Pursuit" doesn't prove to be an outstanding or memorable movie in the action thriller genre. If anything, it is a movie that you should avoid if you enjoy action thrillers, because this movie didn't really have much of either.
Actually the storyline is so cluttered that it is hard to keep track of what is going on and why, so you essentially end up just giving up trying to stay afloat.
The acting performances in the movie were bland, and it felt like the cast themselves didn't buy into the rubbish that the writers had concocted for them.
"Pursuit" came and went without leaving a lasting mark on anything. And this is not a movie that I would recommend you waste your time, money or effort on. Some of us suffered through this ordeal so you don't have to.
My rating of "Pursuit" lands on a generous two out of ten stars.

I mean, seriously, is this a joke?? Looks like a C rated movie from the early 90's. Whats up with the tribal forehead tattoo & a tiny scorpion on his cheek? Cusack's hair is pitch black - its as if he's trying to pull of a Nic Cage. This movie is just awful.

The more tach is improving, the worse movies get. In 90's movies like this were expected from a bunch od high school kids with a wannabe acting dream. And now all we get out of high level studios and production institues are things like this. Feel sorry for the investors in it.

Horrible movie. The so-called cop that stars in the movie, (Rick Calloway), is a total punk, a tiny boy that people just walk over and brush aside, he is too afraid to stand up for himself. Kind of destroys the whole concept of the movie. The story line is tough to follow as it is all over the place. There is no hero in this movie just tough to watch scenarios as they are written like Monday morning soap operas. The only character with any personality is the villain.

The film keeps you on your toes and then blows them away with all the awesome action sequences and stunts! The camera work was beautifully shot and leaves you remembering specific shots and all the cast played their roles perfectly! Was well worth the watch and will be one I go back to often.

But I like cheesy so I really did like this movie. Even though some of the things that happened in this movie made you question why. I have seen worse so for the action parts it was good. I do not plan on watching this again but I do love seeing Hirsch and Cusack. But especially Hirsch, he was sexy in "Freaks". Also the story was hard to follow with. Then there was a whole scene whit dead kids, and I still have no idea who's kids they were. More needed to be explained, that is for sure! I recommend if you are just bored and have nothing else to watch.

Bad guys should have been good guys. What a mixed up movie. Good guys and Girls? Should have been extras in the crowd. Not a bad storyline but....
John Cusack has played some bad roles in movies that could have been favorable if he was the good guy. Hollywood is following along way to close with Politics nowadays and it is forcing people to watch shows prior to 2010. Way to go Hollywood...might have to go watch Bollywood!!!

I gave this horrible movie a 1 rating it's just that bad people. The best acting in the movie is by Valor Hirsch that's Emile's son seriously...The acting stunk and so did the special effects for the most part. The story was also very wishy washy stay away from Bad Pursuit imo. Do some bird watching that has a better storyline. LMFAO.
