Missed Opportunity

Warning: Spoilers
Lie Q is a missed opportunity. Why? Too many gaps in the movie ( probably a bad job on the cutting room). The best character in the movie is Anne Patel who is a MENSA Society genius and has a nice figure. She is loved by Josh who is an Irish American 20 something who is also a genius who works in his uncle's bar. A major problem with this film is they are a couple but except for one shot of them holding hands, you would not know it. The audience ( and Anne) also would not know what he thinks about her except her father tells her. It is also mentioned that he had absolutely no interest in women prior to meeting Anne. One major problem is except for a few regulars the bar is not doing well. Spoilers ahead: of course at the end the bar is packed and doing well because of chicken wings ( but the audience is not told about what makes the wings so good and whose idea it was. I will guess Anne because her father owned a failing Indian restaurant ( you never see customers in there) Another missed opportunity). The other thing that is interesting is although people in the film are smart ( Josh's uncle was on the top 5% of National LSAT ( Law School Admissions Test), he never amounted to anything nor did anyone else ( including Anne who was VP of the local MENSA society)). I guess Anne and Josh will end up married and running the bar, but neither one will have reached their potential. Which sums up the film well. Had a lot of potential that it never reached. I give it 5/10 stars. Not bad but not good either. A missed opportunity.
