LuLu's Back In Town
douglasmcbroom14 August 2022
This was my least-favorite episode of the first three. The first two episodes established some very interesting plot lines, so we didn't need to spend so much time on Siobhan's old friend LuLu.

Otherwise Jackie's up to his old and self-destructive ways and Sinclair (Corbin Bernsen) does his best Bill Cosby impression.

My Thoughts On This Episode

Warning: Spoilers
I didn't like the fact that You spent season 2 with Jackie, & Jenny , working on repairing their marriage and yet, the writer's turnaround & have Jackie up to his old tricks , bed with the " Bosses Wife ". I feel that seeing as how Jenny had an encounter with her father, Jackie should've been supporting Jenny more, & with the daughter going away to school, this would be the perfect opportunity for Jackie & Jenny to work on the marriage. What are the writers getting at, will they remain married, or will they part? It gets real confusing...

Now, the issue of LuLu! Why now was it relevant to bring in this lulu storyline for Siobhan, that whole concept really doesn't seem to fit in this episode to me. I love this Series, & The Actors Are Incredible, but it's like pulling a band-aid off, & trying to make it stick all over again. But, that's just my humble opinion.

Wives.

Warning: Spoilers
Season 3 is starting to get too wrapped up around sad Jenny and the fired Irish Priest and his sex life and STD results, and Siobhan and her construction case and now Lulu. Who is Lulu and why should we care? For a newly introduced unseen character (not even a picture of her is shown), this episode sure does spend alot of time on her. The only thing I took away from the Lulu saga is Siobhan is a psychopath. How else can you explain holding on to such a horrific secret like that for 16 years then rationalizing it? The third Wife I'm sick of is the good cop guy's suffocating Wife. The man can't even talk to Assistant D. A. Decourcy without her looming over them. Even worse, she picks him up from work and berates him in front of his fellow cops. And last and very much least is Jackie's unnecessary affair with his Boss's Wife. I saw it coming, but I wish it never came. They have zero chemistry and the Wife's seduction act feels unsexy. We tune in to see Kevin Bacon's Jackie and Aldis Hodges' Decourcy storylines. There can be side players and side stories, but they should not dominate the episode's runtime. More crime and less drama please.
