This series is going from strength to strength. Writer J. M. Holmes and Director Christopher Schrewe are following 4 different story lines in a single episode and doing so masterfully. There is also some much-needed humor in the writing, mostly coming from Jackie Rohr's (Kevin Bacon) character.
Jackie is gifted a BMW 5 Series from his employer, Corbin Bernsen (who is an excellent addition this season) and when he drives it home his wife, terrifically portrayed by Jill Hennessy, asks if he stole a car? "No," says Jackie, "I won first prize." "For what," asks his wife? "For being Jackie Rohr," says Jackie.
Aldis Hodge (DeCourcy Ward) is also excellent in dealing with his dying father. There is also a theme developing with Jackie and DeCourcy meeting at their local watering hole. The dialogue between the two characters and the chemistry between the two actors is outstanding.
