One of the worst comedy pilots ever
entej6 January 2022
What a trashhh. This is the worst pilot of the comedy show that I have seen in the past five years or so. There's absolutely nothing good about it. The father is the most annoying character out of all of them. Usually I give sitcoms a chance and watch at least two or three episodes to make up my mind but in this case one full episode was already too much.

Maybe turn the show into a drama....Cus it's a tragedy.

The plot was silly and not in a funny way.

The acting is so over the top and one note that it makes you cramp up inside.

When you think about how much money they spend on something like this, it's mind blowing.

This is what our taxpayer money goes into?

Easy going, fun show. Positive vibe and great background tunes.

Well written, creative, fun, just what you would expect from Andrew Phung if you know any of his other work.

Easy to watch with a good energy, it's what you would expect from CBC but better than some of their more recent offerings. Just the thing to take your mind off the news of the day. Looking forward to more episodes.

Blockbuster

The Pham family are diverse. Dad Andrew (Andrew Phung) is Chinese Asian and mum Camille (Rakhee Morzaria) is Indian Asian.

They want to be the cool family in the cul de sac. To bring the neighbourhood together they plan a street party. One of the neighbours claims to know Drake who could be the surprise guest.

Only according to the officious an obstinate community association enforcer Barb. They have the wrong permit for the party.

Camille challenges a group of racers who have a permit to party to a race. For the permit and the winner takes the car as well. It is however under Camille's ru;es. You cannot go over the speed limit and she chooses the route.

The race turns out to be slow and steady and Camille knows all the potholes.

The first episode is family friendly but really is not funny. It is not even mildly amusing. Kardinal Offishall guest stars as himself who now raps about ecological issues.

The show we need right now

I think with the world as it is now we need positive vibes and a good laugh.

The Phams aren't perfect, but do take a more positive vibe than most TV these days.

The pilot does go over the top, but a great intro to who to expect to get to know in the neighbourhood.

Family Friendly Suburb Fun

Caught this first episode on the CW the other night. Had been waiting to watch this because our family loved Kim's Convenience and Andrew. It's such a fantastic show and something our whole family enjoyed. The cast is really funny and gels really well. The groceries opener is totally us and the episode feels really light and fun. It does get a little silly but its a comedy, its supposed to be like that. The big thing for us is that it's something we were comfortable watching as a family, kindfo like Kim's Convenience which we binged a few times over now.

It the first episode is ant indicator, we're going to love this show!
