Run the Burbs: Independence Day (2022)
Phams got their groove
Probably the best family centric episode so far.
Watching parents becoming parents and navigating all the uncertainties.
At this point we can see the performers really getting into their roles and gelling.
This episode was definitely peak Andrew hilarity.
Run the Burbs: Let's Go to the Movies (2022)
Roman, what a powerhouse
The "Mind Palace" arc was a subtly powerful scene with Ramesh and Leo. I think Ali and Roman handled it with the right dash of drama and comedy.
More please.
Run the Burbs: Carol the Conqueror (2022)
Finding it's identity
I like that there is more focus brought back to the Phams. We definitely get more background on who Andrew is to his family. These episodes definitely show that the supporting cast is strong.
Run the Burbs: Blockbuster (2022)
The show we need right now
I think with the world as it is now we need positive vibes and a good laugh.
The Phams aren't perfect, but do take a more positive vibe than most TV these days.
The pilot does go over the top, but a great intro to who to expect to get to know in the neighbourhood.
Kim's Convenience: Rude Kid (2016)
dancing that line
I think this is a good episode that shows how much kim's will dance that line on humor and drama. The fridge scene between Appa and Janet was one that most people who watch the show will remember.
Well written and performed even better.
Kim's Convenience: Family Singing Contest (2016)
All the right pieces
I think this may be one of my favorite episodes of this show. This episode had all the right pieces that made Kim's great.
The singing part at the end was one that if it brought a tear to your eye you know you connected with the show.
Kim's Convenience: Friends and Family (2021)
season finale, not series finale
There were a lot of good bones in this episode, something that would be worthy as a send off to characters wanting to move on (like Shannon) but not so much for a series where we needed to say goodbye to everyone.
I loved the show, but this episode broke my heart that it didn't get a proper send off.
Kim's Convenience: Slippery Slope (2021)
Best episode of the season
This #KCSeason5 episode was probably the funniest in the season. I totally related with Janet/Jung, Loved the Appa/Gerald/Umma scenes, but really thought Kimchee/Stacie/Gwen stole the episode.
I have a podcast dedicated to Kim's Convenience called "What You Talking" where we breakdown the specifics of everything. This episode had all the elements of what makes Kim's Convenience a great show.
- the brother/sister dynamic was flawless, handled with humor and heart
- Appa/Umma/Gerald was fresh even though its been done over many episodes already
- Stacie/Kimchee/Gwen was superb, probably my favourite arc this episode
Kudos to the cast, crew, writers, creators and everyone involved
