This was off the wall.

The man is identified as Elliot Stanley, and it seems that everyone wants a piece of him, the small town that he's add descends into chaos as Police and a hitman arrive.

Well this was definitely a bit on the zany side, yes it's dramatic and a bit on the wacky side, bur this was a mix of entertaining and funny.

Is there a drugs story somewhere under this, it's seeming quite likely right now, who's the mean looking guy? It's building nicely.

Ethan, what can you, she needs to kick him into touch sooner, rather than later, she cannot marry him, he's just awful.

Jamie Dornan is doing a great job, am loving Danielle Macdonald, she's terrific.

8/10.

A Little Like Fargo

The Coen brothers had nothing to do with this series, but there are similarities. There is the blending of humor and violence. The characters are quirky and interesting. Even the cop in training is a bit like Francis McDermond. She is fighting for identity with that idiot boyfriend in her way. We have a weird cop who is chasing the white whale--we don't know why at this point. Our amnesiac knows his name, but nothing else seems to be coming through. In a stereotypical film, he would have been putting a few names and faces together. We also know now that awful bearded character is working for someone and is actually a little scared of him. So a psychopath working for a psychopath. One of the strengths of this series is our own empathetic reaction--what if we were in his shoes? And who did he cross in the past? It will be interesting.

Episode 3
Prismark1018 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The third episode sees the Man and Luci rebuilding their relationship and regaining each other's trust.

He finds out how he met Luci in Bali. How he came to Australia and how he came to kill a man.

This is all in the assumption that Luci is telling the truth.

Danger is not far behind. Rookie cop Helen is stumbling into danger. Bad boy Big Billy is after Helen and finds the Man. There were some flashbacks about Billy hunting back in Scandinavia.

There were tense scenes when Billy finds Helen armed with a shotgun. Helen is no match for that kind of predator.

It became laughable, when Billy who has been stabbed with scissors in the back. Then hit on the head with a crowbar, falls back first into a deep well and somehow manages to climb out of it.

[8.6] Childishly unique

Warning: Spoilers
Episode 3: Enjoyed it very much. The desertic location, the humorous and serious acting at the same time, the chemistry between The Man and Luci, the intensely orange, quippy and sand-shaded situations, the cool menacing antagonist and so many tiny bits that make it whole and speak in its favor that you just close your eyes on some "sunburned" unrealistic situations, Helen's endless goodness and her very personal compassionate way of seeing unlimited kindness in people through her rosy "filter" located in her warm heart.

The episode has awesome vibe, hot atmosphere and many "leaders" that make it childishly unique as its papa series The Tourist is.

Big issues with this series
Beachbum201824 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Ok so watched the first three episodes, wasn't sure about the series until now but the biggest plot hole ever appeared and now I'm sure... this isn't a very good series.

The hole - Helen the policewomen allows the American guy to go free after killing the deaf guy in the b&b (that just sounds weird reading it), when she should have shot him dead at the earliest opportunity as he's tried to murder her and others as well.

Now I'm on a role, the other bad stuff is the choice of Jamie Dornan as male lead, really not a good choice, somehow the idea of a Belfast amnesiac killer running loose in the bush is off in so many ways, it kills the potential dead. Then there's his relationship with Luci bit, also stilted, the connection to HK mafia is just weird, the dead body in the barrel they don't report and the fact Jamie's character is downright rude with every person he talks to, he never says please at all which you might expect if he was really an amnesiac with no idea who he was, etc, etc.

Best bit so far is the Helen Chambers character, extremely annoying as a junior policewomen but gives it that bit of uplift as she's endlessly optimistic even though her boyfriend is the biggest missing plughole since the great flood!
