Few American animated shows have had the depth and breadth of the long-running Adult Swim series "The Venture Bros." The series, created by Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer, started as a riff on old Hanna Barbera shows like "Johnny Quest," following adult super-scientist Dr. Thaddeus "Rusty" Venture (James Urbaniak) as he tries to escape the shadow of his genius father and child stardom as a boy adventurer. Adult Swim is open to more anime adaptations, with the classic 2003 series holding the most potential. An anime reboot for The Venture Bros. seems inevitable given its brand recognition and fan anticipation.

In an October 15 post on X, Publick responded to claims that the Titmouse productions' Nycc panel, "Titmouse Inc. - We Make Cartoons!," had put the onus of a The Venture Bros. renewal on the shoulders of Publick and his fellow co-creator Doc Hammer. Publick stated simply, "If any word of this was true, we'd be making The Venture Bros. right now, and probably would have been at Nycc to say so."

The co-creator of the animated series The Venture Bros. voiced his confusion at his show apparently being removed from the streaming service, Max.

Learning via Twitter, Jackson Publick replied, "Um... What?" to a screengrab dated July 21, announcing that The Venture Bros. will be leaving Max on August 12. The news wasn't only a shock to the co-creator but also to fans. Given that The Venture Bros.' sequel film: Radiant Is the Blood of the Baboon Heart was also released on July 21, Publick's words echo the confusion of many at the timing of this action.

Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer discuss how they settled on the title for the Venture Bros. film finale, Radiant is the Blood of the Baboon Heart.

The pair spoke to ComicBook.com about the movie, with Publick explaining the origin of its unwieldy name. "Doc came up with the original title," he said. "We wanted Epic Stupid. We had a list of potential titles but when Doc said Radiant is The Blood of The Baboon Heart, we went with that one. We really wanted blood in the title with that sense of stupid." Hammer also confirmed that the film's original title was Red Monday.

The Metalocalypse panel for San Diego Comic-Con 2023 has been pulled from the schedule due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.

The scheduled panel for Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar was expected to feature series co-creator Brendon Small, who also voices several characters in the show. However, in a Twitter announcement, Small revealed that he would not be attending the convention in solidarity with the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. He cited the strike rules that prohibit promotion at Sdcc as the reason for his absence and apologized for any inconvenience caused.

The creator of The Venture Bros. Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer have withdrawn from San Diego Comic-Con 2023 in solidarity with the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.

Publick and Hammer were set to screen their series-ending special/film, The Venture Bros.: Radiant is the Blood of the Baboon Heart, and engage with fans during the event. In an Instagram post, Hammer expressed their commitment to the union and apologized to fans, stating, "We stand proudly with our union's bigger picture and have therefore pulled out of Comic Con."

Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment are all set to light up San Diego Comic-Con 2023 with four major animated ventures including the return of Babylon 5 and The Venture Bros. The studio will bring four original animated movies, including three world premieres to San Diego Comic-Con this year, with casts, filmmakers and more set for panels over the July 19 - July 23 weekend.

First up is the DC animated outing Justice League: Warworld, which will now have its World Premiere on Friday, July 21 at 9:00pm in Ballroom 20 at the Con. Warner Bros. Animation’s all-new, feature-length R-rated movie, Justice League: Warworld picks up with DC’s Justice League, currently a loose association of super-powered individuals. But when they are swept away to Warworld, a place of unending brutal gladiatorial combat, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and the others must somehow unite to form an unbeatable resistance able to lead an entire planet to freedom.

Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment has announced that all 82 episodes of Adult Swim's award-winning original adult animated series will be available to purchase on Digital and DVD on June 13, one week earlier than the previous June 20 release date.
