Where's Spivey
Hitchcoc8 March 2022
Reacher knows that Spivey holds the key to finding out the most critical information in the case. Kliner shows his slime ball being as there is a duck and jab game going on. Good episode with lots of exciting confrontations. Reacher does show, however, that he can be pretty cold blooded..

Best episode so far.
LegendaryFang5616 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The mystery/puzzle is still flowing and piecing together. More pieces continue being revealed, except the overall picture is still unclear. But this was the most important episode yet. I think the ending was as decisive as it gets, as well as the final nail in the coffin: so to speak. Next episode onward, things should start escalating fast.

Efforts were being made against our main characters already. The ending was like adding gasoline to the fire, more so than approaching Kliner Sr. And giving him more reason to want them gone. They're continuing to investigate, on top of having their eyes set on Kliner Industries now, and he's aware of both; they know the association and connection between the second victim and Spivey with Kliner Industries: he knows they know.

So, it seems like, even if that ending didn't happen, other aspects of this episode still did enough, I'd imagine, for efforts to ramp up even further. But since that ending did happen, that's even worse. Those two hired muscle, military guys, who've been the go-to guys for doing the dirty work, have bit off more than they could chew by working for Kliner Industries, presumably; they're dead now: shouldn't have crossed Jack Reacher, baby.

I'd be surprised if things don't start hitting the fan, starting next episode and never letting up. It seems like a lot of back-and-forths are about to happen. All that's left is to unravel the mystery and piece every piece together during all of that happening.

  • The acting by Lara Jean Chorostecki (who plays Molly Beth Gordon) after finding out that Joe is dead was pretty decent. I looked her up and found out that she played a character in Hannibal, one that I'm assuming was a somewhat relevant character. And she played a character in a Canadian show, 'X Company.' Maybe a few people know and recognize her from that show. I'm sure a lot of people were pleasantly surprised to see her.

  • I swear I've seen the actor who played Zacarias Perez, Paulino Nunes, before. Maybe even more than once, not just one role. After thinking about it for a few seconds, Kurt Fuller came to mind: the coroner guy in Psych. But Paulino Nunes and Kurt Fuller don't look that similar, so I must've seen the former himself in something else. I can't recall what it was, though. His interaction with Jack was pretty hilarious, though.

  • So far, all of the interactions revolving around our three central characters are super likable. The relationship between Jack and Roscoe already developed a bit in the previous episode, and now, Finlay's starting to flow well with Jack. All three of them are developing closer together in this episode; as a team, which I thought was great.

I think this was the best episode so far. The progression of everything is beginning to reach a significant point, so the mystery aspect of it all has more investment value behind it. Everything else on a lower-surface level is more entertaining as well. I hope this show/first season doesn't start dropping off the deep end in the next episode or two. I think some people have expressed that happens after the third episode, that the first three episodes were the best, and it goes "downhill" from there, and that closer to the end is the worst. I'll have to see for myself.

The Big Redwood Hunts for Spivey
lavatch7 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
In this third episode, Reacher, Finlay, and Conklin have joined forces to conduct an undercover op in the town of Margrave. The search is on for Tanner Spivey, who was taking his marching orders from whoever is behind the local murders.

The trail may lead to the magnate Kleiner, who appears suspicious when interviewed by Finlay and Reacher. A big meal is consumed at Molly's shack with Reacher woolfing down his food. Reacher is suspicious of Klein due to the transportation of a large load of animal feed. Sheriff Finlay and Roscoe Conklin dismiss this idea. But Reacher believes this could be a telltale clue.

Finlay heads to Atlanta where he learns more about Hubble. There is the suspicion that Hubble was caught up in a counterfeiting op.

Reacher goes to a bar and attracts attention when he asks about Spivey. When he leaves, he is followed by two suspicious men driving behind him. Reacher sets them up on a deserted road and shoots them both. When he opens the trunk of their car, he finds a deceased Tanner Spivey.

To be continued.......

LOVE Jack Reacher!!
jrigler-5214511 February 2022
I've read most of the Reacher and am a huge fan. I like Tom Cruise, but he just isn't the hugs, muscle/bound guy Lee Child described. But this series gets it right all the way.

Can't wait for the next seasons!!!!!

great one

Warning: Spoilers
Reacher being Reacher. Intimidating, speaking little.. that is the way he should be portrayed.

I like Currie Graham. This actor is amazing. Every time he is on a show, it is great.

They tone it down the police officer being annoying to reacher, at the begining she threw a tantrum calling him condescending. Well, dude has being around the block in the military and killing people while she just stayed in the small city.. had it been a dude too, he would assume guy would be damn scared as well when someone broke into his place...

was laughing when the dude was trying to tell roscoe reacher was a killer lol.. so lame cant wait to see reacher kicking his ass..

anyway, another great episode. Fast paced story, great characters and an even better Reacher.

suspenseful episode just like fortnite
Vanilladietcoke31 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
When halfway through the episode we got Reacher coming in and strangling some poor fat old lawyer with a telephone cord you know the episode is going to be good. Scene after scene of intense dialogue and plot developments, as well as some pretty cool in depth looks at Officer Finlay. He definitely shined in this episode, displaying the problems with his stance on staying with the moral side of the law but also the positives, as he achieves wins and losses in this episode. With the cliffhanger from last ep, I expected this episode to deliver max intensity, and it definitely paid off here. With the lower episode rating I thought it would get way more boring, but things are only getting more intense and Alan Ritchson's performance as Reacher is incredibly addicting.

Spoonful
Prismark1011 March 2022
Jack Reacher discovers that his brother Joe was on a covert mission for the secret service looking at counterfeiting emanating from Margrave.

It all leads to Kliner but he seems too confident that Reacher, Finlay and Roscoe are all beneath him.

They are also looking for a man called Spivey but he seems to have disappeared.

At least Jack Reacher knows what his brother was up to. Finlay at last gives Reacher a task. There is still some needling between both men, especially as Reacher has a tendency for born crunching violence.

I was a bit puzzled why Roscoe out of nowhere mentioned that she was recruited by the FBI and CIA, as well as scoring a 99th percentile in intelligence.

So far people were wondering why Finlay left the big city to come down to Margrave. Roscoe has not shown much so far, given her credentials why has she been stuck in a small town?

At least there is momentum with the various investigations. Reacher is armed with a gun that Dirty Harry would be proud of. Even then he lets his fists or a telephone to do the talking.

Getting average
Leofwine_draca20 May 2022
A few good scenes here but otherwise it's getting more average in feel. No big set-pieces and some of it is a little cringeworthy, like the padded "getting to know you" scenes in the hotel room. Let's hope it goes the other way again.

End your life with one phone

People are dropping dead like flies in this town! Not too much progress on the investigation other than Spivey turning out to be dead and the team making contact with Kliner. Truth is, this is going to be some counterfeit related crime but what's the animal feed got to do with that? Still hard to see the big picture but nonetheless engaging.

We see a moment of Finlay and I'm not sure what it indicates. We saw him trying to call his wife but not being successful at it. Clearly a complex character that is in development. Like it.

Love the southern vibe and the blues. Another part of US that I'm not familiar with, so it adds to my feelings about the show.

"Scored a 99th percentile in intelligence"
puzgolac16 February 2022
The show is pretty good so far, but there are some occasional annoying and cringey moments. The need to make the main characters into some kind of superheroes is definitely one of the most prominent ones. And while you can justify it to some extent for the main character, the compulsive need to have a "strong female character" these days usually just creates pitiful results. Thus, in this episode, we are banged on the head with Roscoe all of a sudden having an out of character experience and informing Reacher that not only she was "recruited by the FBI and Central Intelligence" (why not add NASA and CERN also?), but she also "scored a 99th percentile in intelligence". I advise caution when you watch this scene, because you run the risk of your eyes rolling so far back into your head, you will actually be able to see what you think. The scene looks like it was written by a kindergarten kid trying to write something mega cool. Not only has Roscoe so far shown nothing that would make you think that she is a genius, but it is also clear that the person who wrote that line knows nothing about intelligence and is far, far bellow that 99th percentile.

Not okay with one scene
manleygurl7 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Overall I'm enjoying the series but one scene was kind of concerning. *spoiler* When did shooting someone in the back become okay? Maybe I'm overthinking this but man! That's just cold blooded and cowardly. It's one thing to be a vigilante, but there's usually some honor thrown in there. A little disappointed.

Flawed

Warning: Spoilers
So Reacher just shot the 2 guys, and immediately found the 2 shells on the ground. It was on the field, with grass and whatever else there might be. But he needed 1second to find the shells. That's just too unrealistic.

EDIT: Neither of the guys were wearing yellow/beige jacket, as we saw after Reacher shot them, and put in the trunk. That is a mistake for sure. Sorry.

Writer switch to a Preachy Tone
admannday1 January 2024
So the first two episode seemed reasonable, for what I knew of the character. In this episode for some reason Roscoe decides to get personally offended when Reacher has the "audacity" to insinuate that someone breaking into her home, and threatening to kill her, might be intimidating or scare her... for some reason the character (Roscoe) which the night before felt vulnerable enough to walk around in her panties in front of Reacher, decides now to lecture him about all her credentials and how she doesn't get scared like some little girl....and states..."she gets mad" and proceeds to pull out a Big Gun to give to Reacher (smh). This plus a very poorly done police brutality set up scene and some random animal rights concerns from Reacher emerging out of nowhere....definitely takes you out of the story where a guy on a whim and a count of three will beat the sh%# out of anyone he sees fit just 2 episodes before.

The list of examples can go on in this episode, I'm not sure where they get these really preachy writers, and feel like they will be a good fit for action-thriller genres, but it really pulls the viewer out off the story when these characters do things that are contrary, if not illogical to premises previously set.
