This episode felt sluggish
javanscates25 April 2021
I'm not sure if it's because of the extremely quick pacing of Jujutsu Kaisen, but this season of My Hero Academia has felt particular slow. However, the problem actually seems to occur from them adapting 2 13 page chapters per episode. That is very slow. Instead of just adapting more chapters in each episode, with a lower episode count, they decide to drag it out and add a whole lot of filler into many points in the episodes that only take away from the show. Again, it's probably just because I was spoiled with the quality of the Jujutsu Kaisen adaptation, but it has been far too difficult for me to enjoy this season so far.

So sick of flashbacks!
infuriated_rain26 August 2021
I love this show, but good LORD the flashbacks get so annoying. It's one thing if it's to something from several episodes/seasons ago, but they're constantly doing flashbacks to something that happened literally 5 minutes ago.... and they do it a lot as they did in this episode. I know i have a horrible memory but it's not THAT bad! Ok rant over.

Anyway.... this episode was cool because I love Tokoyami so I love seeing more of him.

How are people complaining?

Warning: Spoilers
This show is called My Hero ACADEMIA. They're literally doing training as heroes in school. This episode is basically what the definition of My Hero Academia is.

Also the animation this episode was amazing. The 3D backgrounds and fluid movements were all fantastic. Seems S5 is a step up from S4 is animation already.

Fans are so spoiled it's disgusting. We are getting awesomely animated fight/training scenes while getting to spend time and see growth in characters we've gotten to know over 5 seasons. This show sells exactly what it advertises.

This episode was a standard My Hero episode and had better animation than almost every fight from Hunter x Hunter.

I am very pleased with the episode

As a manga reader I enjoyed watching this episode including the additions to the manga. I see those scenes as precious moments because I like the characters. And the way they used camera angles and backgrounds is what I really enjoyed. I understand their choice of pacing and making 2 ch per episode but some might not enjoy it. I recommend them to binge watch this arc after ep 12 but this is the episode where this arc takes off. After this will be a rollercoaster of episodes of pure enjoyment watching matches. I also don't understand people not enjoying it because there aren't that much of high stakes during a joint training arc. Whatever, I enjoyed the episode and how they paced it with the backstory part.
