Enjoyable fun movie

It's a feel good romance movie. Nice female and male leads. Good songs and performance. Light entertainment when you need a break from more intense shows.

They could have done it better

All those convincing actors did their best. I loved Finley, so sweet and kind and carefree but lacked some depth to her role when came to sadness expressing. The movie would come out far better with stronger plot, the story was so loose sorrowfully.

A Great Country Feeling Cinderella Story!
abram-724952 July 2021
I always like this kind of movie especially the franchise. It is great for Kids,Teens, and Adults. The story retells Cinderella in a country setting which is a unique idea and the characters are obviously similar from the other movies but likely. Also the acting is high quality. So there should be a moment where everyone enjoys in the movie like soundtrack, visuals, jokes, or morals/lessons.

Not worth your time

Story line is dull and blant. They tried to modernize the original Cinderella but they failed big time. Maybe is good movie for very young children under the age of 7 but older audiences, give it a miss.

Cringe as hell
sampah7028 February 2022
This dumb story become even more cringey with dumber plot and acts. Of course I didn't expect the main girl to perform nearly as good as emma thompson (or even emma watson), but she's just plain bad at her act of switched persona, she's not even convincing at her primary role as a farm girl. I wouldn't say she's a bad actor, it just the roles are unfit for her and she's lacking experience, a lot. The rest of the casts pretty much mediocre as well; maybe the stepmother quite good though she only get a small part.

Finally A Good Cinderella Story

It's been so long since I've enjoyed a Cinderella story movie. Ever since the one with Selena Gomez! They stories went downhill but this one was extra cute.

Nope

Too much cleavage and tasteless outfits for the female cast. Disappointed to see Bailee lower her standards. She was so good in Bridge to Terebinthia.

A brand new, humorous and unique family film with great characters and even better actors
rannynm6 July 2021
Do you love Cinderella stories? Are you looking for a brand new, humorous and unique family film that has excellent characters and even better actors? You need to watch A Cinderella Story: Starstruck. It's one of my favorites of 2021 so far, and it's suitable for nearly any audience!

Finley Tremaine (Bailee Madison) is not your average Cinderella and neither is this story. Finley aspires to be a Hollywood star, so when a new action film comes to town, bringing famous actor Jackson Stone (Michael Evans Behling) along with it, she becomes focused on the audition stage. The film spirals into drama as Finley faces a constant inner conflict and tries to be more than one person. Will she keep her secret? The fear of discovery is constant, and she soon realizes that honesty could truly be the best policy, especially when it comes to her dream.

A Cinderella Story: Starstruck checks every box. The cinematography is better than most of what I've seen. The lighting and perspective make the images natural, and they use tons of creative angles. The cinematographers seem to have lots of tricks up their sleeves to make this film look amazing. Settings are chosen with precision; though some do seem a bit extraordinary for a normal town and farm land. However, we constantly see colorful views that leave me in awe. The film is a Cinderella story, but it isn't easily predicted like most new versions are. It's probably the most innovative princess story I've ever seen. The resemblances to the original Cinderella are hard to find, but are there nonetheless. Instead of mice, Finley's support friends are the farm animals. There's a unique addition behind every twist and turn of the plot. One of the best touches that I like is including a stepbrother, Kale (Richard Harmon), along with the traditional stepsister, Saffron (Lillian Doucet- Roche). These two siblings argue a lot; another different aspect between this version and the original. The stepmother, Valerian (April Telek), is as unbearable as always, though she's still a great character. Lastly, the acting is truly magnificent. It doesn't feel like acting. The actors seem to have real bonding, which is special. Richard Harmon as Kale, Bailee Madison as Finley and Michael Evans Behling as Jackson give some of the best performances. Kale is a difficult character to play, as there aren't really similar characters in other Cinderella stories. Richard Harmon pulls off the role with astounding ability, setting a great example for any future step brothers.

The message of A Cinderella Story: Starstruck is to follow your dream. Parents should be aware that there is some mild language and action.

I give A Cinderella Story: Starstruck 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 9 to 18, plus adults. It releases on digitally June 29, 2021 and on DVD July 12, 2021, so don't miss it! Reviewed by Kyla C., KIDS FIRST!

It's a good Cinderella
henryvic-3845619 August 2022
Discovery has a family friendly Cinderella. Even with a scene that might make you worry, Bailee Madison handles it with finesse. Unlike that other studio company that you equate with presenting Cinderella movies, which presents potty mouth to unsuspecting children, and goes against the principles it claims to embrace, including feminism. And is cheap like they are with She Hulk.

Farm girl wants to become an actress.
TxMike15 October 2021
My wife and I enjoyed this at home on DVD from our public library. It is a new take on the traditional Cinderella story. Here a pretty and talented young girl is the stepdaughter. Her stepmom and stepsister are both wicked and especially stupid. The other sibling is a very smart but devious stepbrother. They all live on the farm with chickens, pigs, horses, and a milk cow.

The film crew comes to their small community and conducts tryouts for the locals. The movie gets made, the stepmom and her two kids get their just due.

The featured young couple are very cute and entertaining. There are a few cringe-worthy scenes and the movie will be forgotten tomorrow as the sun rises, but it is suitable as light entertainment. It is not a musical but there are a few production numbers included.
