walking through the script
Rob-O-Cop14 July 2023
I'm not feeling it. I don't think it's the source material. There were good plot details in this episode that just had no power. The hunters attack at the cabin could and should have been terrifying but it was over and dealt with quickly.

Brianna didn't delivery very convincingly her ordeal at all.

There was next to no drama or tension in it. It was delivered like a walk through of a script, I'm not sure why. Perhaps the weight lies on the shoulders of the new season 7 story writer Taylor Mallory who has come on board at ep 1 season 7, or the all new season 7 directors that have not touched the series before.

It's still the same actors but the people running the engine have changed and it appears for the worse.

Just BAD!!

Where do you even start with this mess?? Let's start with once again 1) Jamie somehow knows all because he is a Scott & they are part Billie goat & guess what, he was right AGAIN!!

2) Claire, seemed to take a backseat & be cowed by the military doctor. Since when does the all mighty & entitled Claire ever let anyone put her in her place??

3) the black guy that had his leg amputated, I get it, he just had surgery HOWEVER we are just going to abandon him?? I mean how is it no one could carry his gurney to the water?? This literally made NO SENSE!!

4) You meet a stranger on the side of the road & they invite you back & serve you roasted rats?? C'mon. Where is your common sense at Willie??

5) Once again poor Brie, everyone is just so mean to her entitled rear end. What did she expect but her she found another portal in the tunnels!!

6) The acting absolutely SUCKED!! It felt like they all mailed it in & the episode screamed filler episode.

7) the ONLY highlight of this show was Ian & his going back to his tribe to visit. I am happy to see he took his acting seriously & it was a well done scene.

Warning: Spoilers
I see a lot of low scores and poor reviews for this episode and I don't seem to understand it. I think Outlander is still fresh and still compelling and still the best period drama out there.

I think brianna might be polarizing, but I think Sophie Skelton does a great job with the character, and taking a break from all of the time travel and gemstones and just focusing on a real world issue of her struggling to gain respect in the workforce is a good move. I would be terrified if I was stuck in a tunnel like that and although she got out relatively quickly, I probably wouldn't be able to figure that one out.

it's the little house on the prairie...

What once was a show full of life, action, adventure, mystery, passion, survival and some history is now this dull pseudo educational 'novela' that will leave you snorting halfway in... The story lines are all over the not keeping you engaged. The character development have become so "construed" that they are not believable anymore... On the other hand the only question the viewer has, is Jamie going to survive the war and will Clair be with him as he take his last breath, the rest we don't really care. Its sad for the actors, the production and all of them that had the best intention and see their creation die every day a little more...
