It was OK, but....

..... I could do without the gross bathroom potty/vomit scene. Not funny, just disgusting and completely unnecessary. In fact, the whole thing with her sister and sister's psycho BF was out of nowhere and completely unnecessary in the movie. It didn't even make sense. WHY would her sister have to hide her SISTER and her sister's friend?? Why not just say my sister and her friend stopped to visit? Makes NO sense at all. And then later he just suddenly becomes a nice guy. Yeah...that happens.

The scenes where she gets bit by ants and stuck by a cactus while trying to tinkle in the woods was OK, but then they just HAD to get disgusting. And his parents talking about their son's sexual habits ....and theirs. Just YUK!

And the fast forward part where she has supposedly paid him back the $50K that he loaned her for her new business venture. In a year.....right.

Besides all that, it was cute and entertaining and I thought they were decent actors.

Who are convinced that everyone in movies should fit the stereotype outgoing actor type.

I for one felt that the lead actors "I don't care" attitude fit the story lone perfectly. Although it is no where near oscar type, most involved still did a great job and this was one of the better "low budget-B movies" I have seen in some time.

Ending was rushed... but still a solid 6.8.

Middle of the road

Not bad, not great. I actually felt the main actors had chemistry together. Their scenes together seemed real and honest. So I enjoyed that. Every single other character was unnecessary to the story. Bad acting, horrible lines, and not funny "gross" humor. I could've done without all of them. The movie felt a little long to get through, but I was interested enough to see how it ended. So I give it a solid 5.

After long time of not leaving IMDb reviews, I am compelled as a public service to do so

I almost tuned out after the first excruciating minutes, but I stayed with the train wreck only to see it get worse.

I glimpsed at the IMDb reviews and was stunned to see a few glowing 20 star reviews from single entry accounts that can only be from the makers friends and family, creditors or the devil himself.

So my counter so you don't fall into the trap. The plot is a rehashed to the point of plagiarism, meet-cute, rom-col, opposites attract, road trip slip with even more stale comic elements. As Stanislavsky, Meisner and Hagen spin in their graves we are subjected to unconvincing, cardboard, unmotivated portrayals is a prissy NJ suburban bridesmaid (w a 49ers flag) who doesn't drive or fly forces to travel to a NC wedding(a 7 hour trip) with an effeminate former MD groomsman freshly single who follows his bliss as a nature photog (who we learn has stalker red flags).

There is no chemistry with tired hiking s like, mis-answered phone calls, potty humor and "shocking " sex talk.

The dialogue takes uninspired, amateurish, out-of-the hiccups that seems to stat and stop like jump cuts. Not sure if I can blame editing, acting, director but each line reading (dine as if day one of a table read ) is punctuated by a full stop while the next actor has to start their monotone, tears or unwarranted action think the opposite of HIs Girl Friend or It happened on night. Further review of IMDb shows an inexperienced cast the lead actress has a kewpie doll voice inappropriate for her age, but it could be she is playing a paper-thin stereotype of a female lead as if a source for an SNL parody. The lead male is too bland abs boring to even comment on

On the era of peak streaming how desperate is PRIME for content foe this low-budget stuff laden with plot holes. Can't give this any credit, at every turn I'm go smacked as the romance and comedy is cut short by "serious" character development it just a sad waste and the phony reviews are only a further crime. You ahod be embarrassed.

It worth a watch!

This movie has originality and depth. The first plus is that the two lead actors do a good job and are believable. It's an intelligent well-thought-out story, not slapstick comedy. Jack's parents are a hoot.

It's not bad way to waste an evening

Ok, the characters were pleasant to watch as they start out disliking each other and progress to, well, liking each other. They don't hook up (so family viewable). The guy plays it as an underachiever, when he's actually an over achiever - so he's very 'straight'. The chick... is hot... but does not play it that way, makes her easier to identify with. It should be noted, sarcasm and irony were the Writers tools of choice here:) The story winds out oddly. The Writer seems to have tried hard to hit different notes than the usual, including a bit of a 'poo joke' for the kids in the audience. The settings vary quite a bit throughout, kudos for that, especially as a low budget film.

Pace was just ok, some viewers might find it a bit slow - it really comes down to how well you identify with the characters I suspect. Otoh there are a _lot_ of worse films out there.

If you've read some of the other reviews, the ending is odd. My pure guess: they added an alternate ending in case people disliked the first choice (I'm trying not to add a spoiler here:) so you get to two short finishes in the one film.

All in all as a low budget film, quite watchable, almost endearing 6/10.

Avoid the trailer & watch the film

Do not watch the trailer before you watch this film. It nearly put me off and I actually enjoyed the film. Yes it's nothing great but it's quite heart warming and funny. One of the better comedies out there.

Started out disliking the female lead but in the end I was rooting for her.

Chemistry less and a lot of scatological humor

I forgot to add yeah there's a whole bunch of potty humor and I don't enjoy the tired scene of somebody taking a poop and having people hide in the shower and react to it in supposed to be hilarious ways, I'm assuming. It was just gross as it always is so if any movie makers are reading this stop with the vomiting and the poop scenes and the farts OK. Tho I thank them for that bathroom scene because that was that just the impetus I needed to actually finally turn this piece of garbage off.

Low budget hilarious rom com

What a surprise! What started out as awkward and a bit cringey ended up as a hilarious rom com road trip movie with Jack and Samantha, an odd couple with some real chemistry who travel to a wedding while trying to figure each other out while both growing as individuals and exploring the possibility of being a couple. It was both laugh out loud funny and endearingly sweet. A lovely film about figuring out yourself and making the best of "interesting travel partners."

Watchable

This low budget romcom is entirely watchable. It's not particularly good and it's not particularly terrible. It's a film you can watch while you eat. Or surfing the web (I did both as it streamed from Amazon Prime). The lead actress, Sydney Bakich, can act, and is frankly a bit charming. The lead actor... struggles to keep up. But he doesn't embarrass himself. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that everyone else in the cast was a friend or family member of the producers. The ending is weird. There's no getting around that fact. A solid OK.

Watch this! It's actually very good!

Not sure what's with these bad reviews, but they must have watch something other than this movie!

It's actually really good. It's funny. It kept me interested and entertained pretty much from beginning to end. It's up to par with any other light romantic comedy if you give it a chance. It's not from a billion dollar studio with million dollar mega stars, but these leads definitely have potential. Who knows, they could next! I'm looking forward to more of them for sure!!

Admittedly, some of the co stars may not be as experienced, doesn't mean bad, but it may be obvious to some. The production does not seem low budget, actors don't seem it either. All around it's definitely a good watch and very well done. Grab some popcorn and enjoy!

The synopsis is wrong and the poster is misleading.

There are no handcuffs or mug shots in this movie, no matter what the poster will have you believe. Just bad acting, stale "comedy" and constant background noise of either chirping birds or crickets. Seriously. I don't normally notice the background sounds, but it was impossible to miss here. And the synopsis is for "The Trip", the Norwegian movie that's actually good. Bloody, but good. Edit: they've fixed the synopsis, but that doesn't mean the movie is any better...

When I wasn't bored by monotone and unnatural conversations between our two leads, I was confused by the "shocking" humor and sudden left turns into silly farcical territory. The dude's dad says he's never been so proud as when two women were fighting over his son. Never been so proud. Of his son. Who's a doctor. I think that pretty much sums up this entire movie.

You have endless options on streaming services, so if you want to watch something that doesn't require much brain activity, I'd still recommend something else. This might just end up annoying you and raising your blood pressure.

Left me shaking my head.

There were so many parts that could have been developed and others left out (the scenes with her sister). It was choppy and slow. The ending was out-of-nowhwere and undeveloped. HELP!!!!!!

I'm not sure why I'm giving it even a 4....l.

Cute movie

I thought this movie was very credible. It was cute, and I liked the leads. The ending was rushed and kind of contrived. The people that didn't like this movie have probably never fallen in love, or are just crabby for some other reason.

Several of the reviewers take themselves way too seriously. Thisis acomedy, not a documentary.

This must have been written by a guy

With all the poop jokes, antiquated hooker humor and dick jokes, this must have been written by a guy. The acting is pretty bad and comes across pretty forced. The characters are campy and the male lead's dad is the actual worst. Don't waste your time.

Funny, charming, nice character transition; strange ending?

First off, this isn't an oscar winner, but for watching an unknown movie to pick out of Amazon video choices, not too bad (and I've seen some real losers). I like the way the blond gal's character changes through the movie, through her trip with the photographer/doctor; she becomes likeable....as his parents (in the movie) say, 'she's a keeper'. Then she opens up about not likeing her job and showing what she really would like to do to market her ideas on the hat clip-ons, etc. But the ending was strange, it was as if they showed 2 alternative endings back-to-back. First, 'after 1 year' they show the blond showing up at the photographers house where his girl friend opens the door and they talk and he asks her "aren't you going to give me a coffee that was part of our agreement". The next scene, the blond is pregnant, and with her sister and the photographer at the photographer's parents house setting a table for dinner and no sign of the photographer's dark-haired girlfriend from the prior scene? Don't know what to make of the ending....if someone knows, please post.

Avoid this movie if you're looking for something clever and witty

Horrible movie: bad writing, bad acting, inept directing, and a total waste of time. Could someone teach the lead actor how to have emotion and inflection? The movie may be funny if you like bathroom and farting jokes and you're 4 years old. It has every bad cliche': I expected everyone to fart after their Christmas dinner as they're arguing over "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." How did they miss that opportunity? And apparently the lead female character can down 7 alcoholic drinks in one sitting, but that's not a red flag in the plot. Of course, she doesn't explain why she ditched the male lead at their first date until they meet again in order to create stupid confusion for the bad plotline. Any trite Hallmark movie is better than this.

It was a breath of fresh air to watch a new movie without a hint of Wokeness. No new age PC message being hammered into my brain. Just a light hearted fun road romantic comedy.

One of the worst movies I've ever seen

At 1st I thought the length of the movie was based on the loooong pauses between the monotonal dialogue in the beginning of the movie. Then I realized that was the theme of the entire thing. I kept hoping that there'd be a great story line developing or better dialogue, but it never happened. There were so many cringe moments. The father was misogynistic. He thought it was hot that the 2 girls were fighting for his son. Gross! And, mom was perfectly ok w it. They pitted all women against each other. Even the sister had to hide the couple when her man came home. Why??? At one point the main female character was telling the male character that on their blind date her sister called and she said HER (as in the sister's) parents were killed in accident. Do they not have the same parents? Wtheck? Every time I thought the movie was ending it just went on and on.

A Movie Worth Watching!

This has to be a contender for worst movie ever put it out. There are no redeeming qualities. The acting, the editing, the script, I can't find a silver lining for this.

Came across this on Amazon Prime while scrolling for better things. I'm a sucker for rom-coms, and thought I'd give it a shot. It was really disappointing, unfortunately. The scenes are unnecessarily drawn out with slow dialogue pacing that should have been fixed in post. The acting was at times forced, at other times wooden, with no chemistry at all between the two leads. That's a death sentence for a romantic comedy. Valiant effort on the director's part, but it's a slow motion train ride to nowhere. Pass on this one.

Good curl up relax kick back movie

Boy meets girl realizes he already meant girl and it didn't go well, but girl doesn't remember boy at all. Boy gets stuck driving girl to mutual friends wedding. They discover each other along the way. Ex girlfriend shows up, groom to be messes up, boys mom and dad are over the top. He invest in her business time goes by and she shows up at his parents house while she's in town for a meeting. They aren't home but he and his girlfriend are. He reminds her she owes him a cup of coffee and well as they say the rest is history

All in all if you are looking for a light rom com this fills the bill.

So bad.

The actors were flat, there was no chemistry. It felt like they were just regular people trying to act, and not being very good at it. An absolute snore.
