This show is really easy viewing. Funny, but an interesting enough premise to keep us glued to the screen for the whole time.

Hope we get more twists and turns along the way.

A Lot More Than We Thought
Hitchcoc21 September 2021
So Mabel knows a lot about Tim Kono. They were childhood friends and shared a horrible night. The guys are running all over the place trying to get something for the podcast. There is a memorial service where nothing good is said about the guy. Oliver is more interested in the food being served than finding anything. Mostly, this is pretty dark.

Who was that guy ?

So we are pretty intriguing by the way that nobody really know or care about Tim Kono but Mabel talk more about Tim and tell the story of the past and how she met him . So we know more about him and the case is still going on and we see some trust issue with the characters and at the end we see that Mabel is more and more motivated to find the truth about Tim . The episode was way more focus on the comedy side and make it pretty pleasant to see even if we didnt know more about Tim and his story and make it more interesting to watch . I enjoyed also the plot that have more depth and get more interesting . Need to see more.

Selena Gomez's acting is spectacular! Deserves academy nominations for sure! The Disney star, turned pop superstar has returned to TV after a decade! Seeming to channel nuanced Alex Russo but with even more charisma and attitude! A-List singer came for the A-List actor title! Steve Martin and Martin Short as always aced their performances!

I love this show

In episode two of Only Murders in the Building we learn the victim's full name from episode one is Tim Kono (played by Julian Cihi). The police think he committed suicide, but Charles, Oliver, and Mabel are certain he was murdered by somebody in their building. Tim lived at The Arconia and after a short, makeshift memorial in the apartment lobby, we learn from several of his neighbors Tim was a reserved, quiet man and sadly, wasn't liked very much. To put it bluntly, a dead cat got more sympathy from his neighbors. There must be a reason everyone disliked Tim and the reason why may reveal a motive for his murder. Oscar was the fourth member of The Hardy Boys and the love interest of Zoe. Following her death, it was revealed Oscar had been arrested and by the sounds of it, may have even gone to prison for a crime he did not commit. Earlier in the episode in a flashback scene, Mabel approached Tim to tell him Oscar is getting out of prison soon and Tim can finally make things right between the remaining Hardy Boys. However, Tim responds coldly, telling Mabel that he wants nothing to do with her or Oscar. Perhaps Oscar has been released from prison and returned to the apartment block to confront Tim for not telling the truth about what happened the evening Zoe died. So far, Mabel is the only person in the building who knew Tim Kono so why is she pretending to everyone she had never met him? Surely Mabel has something to hide or to protect? On the other hand, Mabel does seem baffled by Tim's death and in her hallucinations and flashbacks, appeared to have a close friendship with him until the night of Zoe's death, so for her to be the one may be a bit of a stretch. However, we must not forget when we first met Mabel, she was sitting next to a dead body, covered in blood. Mabel also spoke about having frequent nightmares of stabbing a man at the bottom of her bed with a knitting needle. Bunny, a grumpy, older woman who is on the housing board of the apartment block, had received a package addressed to Tim, something which he was trying to retrieve before his death.

Who Is Tim Kono?
Prismark1010 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The best person to tell you about Tim Kono is Mabel.

She was a childhood friend of his when she used to visit the building. Tim always told her the truth.

In his memorial service at the Arconia. It was obvious the other residents did not like him. Tim had a condition where the heating could not always come on.

The podcast was very much a backseat as they rather rubbish at it.

There was so much packed in half an hour which made it enjoyable. It was not all about Mabel. There were layers peeled about Charles. How he is a fake using lines from old episodes he made years ago.

How is this rated more than 5?

Terrible acting from filler monotone Selena Gomez to the point where you can't even try to care about her history.

Decline In Quality
film_poster_fan25 October 2021
There is a definite decline in quality between episode one and the second episode of this show. Selena Gomez is a big part of the problem. She cannot act and she is far too young to be with two men in their seventies on a regular basis.

Another part of the problem is the writing is not nearly as good. An episode which is less than thirty minutes seems much longer than that.
