LIS is deteriorating into farce
laspino4 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The writers of Lost in Space seem to have zero self-confidence in telling a story, character development or story arc without relying on three or four hair raising death-defying incidents per episode. It's exhausting & frankly becomes ludicrous. At one point last episode they literally fly in the air to escape.

I mean I'm all for tension but for God's sake they are in space, you can't tell me writers are unable to the wonder of space & alien life without making it a roller coaster ride. They'd be better off is they watched less Marvel & more Babylon 5 or 2004 Battlestar Galactica.

Interesting and entertaining dialogue...

Cool to hear Penny make Girl Scouts reference 'Thin Mints' and expansion of Don West's comedic dialogue. Russell Hornsby's appearance was a good choice...

Ariadne's thread.

The second episode of this final season is, for the most part a fairly standard one. There is still the odd moment of "why don't they?" but mostly it made sense and progressed the three strands of the story nicely.

At the top of the ravine, Judy (Taylor Russell) finds the lost NASA vehicle and, in suspended animation, the captain Grant Kelly (Russell Hornsby). Back at camp, Robot (Brian Steele) has gone missing and, whilst looking for him, Penny (Mina Sundwall), Will (Maxwell Jenkins) and June Harris (Parker Posey) discover a system of caves that have evidence of life on the planet. Reinspired, Maureen (Molly Parker), John (Toby Stephens) and Don (Ignacio Serricchio) head back to the planet to locate the body of "scarecrow" to reboot and use him to get to Alpha Centuri.

The adult's storyline in this episode is probably the most fun. Don provides a lot of decent comic relief as they go to retrieve the body, only to discover that Scarecrow is, in fact, fully operational. This leads to a fun little scheme to try and recapture him before a twist in the robot's capabilities changes the storylines a bit.

The biggest action moment is in the NASA buggy's chase through an asteroid storm, which looked good and was fun - but seems to stop for no particular reason once the big dramatic moment happened. This story line also has the weirdest bit of logic for me though, as to why they aren't waking up the rest of the crew, in a sterile environment, which presumably has some medical facilities. Instead they're hauling three heavy boxes away, which they'll have to get down the ravine, somehow.

As I say, a fairly standard episode of the show, which since the first season has meant that it's been good.

This episode was an excellent one and this series seems to become better ,the acting and the effects are great and even the story is better. This is the post-2005 Star Trek series we never had and i would like to see a follow-up to this show.

More absurd
Le5zek15 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I am sorry but this story is getting closer and closer to absurd. Enormous cave hidden in little hill? Two colourful robots supplying instant communication between parts of family separated by distance of a few light years? Really? No delay at all?

Science-fiction means, that even small part of story should be accurate with laws of physics. Please, be serious.

Aging fast
nemesis-889 February 2022
What, a 21-year-old Charles Vandervaart (geez!) was the only option to play a 16-year-old boy Penny fell in love with... AGAIN? We now have to outsource acting, too? "Penny" herself has picked up a few VERY bad habits from Parker Posey, the Talentless Hack of the Lost in Space. Her chin trembling technique is as fake as Posey's postures, and so are her grimaces that are supposed to convey some feelings. She definitely was a better actress 4 years ago before she met the talentless hack Parker Posey. And I'm sorry but three boys in as many seasons, all of whom she used for her own benefit, isn't it a bit too much for a 16-year-old? Do the writers remember where they started four years ago? Unfortunately, 1 star is the lowest I can go. And, even more unfortunately, there's nothing (better) to watch. Olympic curling would be a relief. And did I mention Parker Posey is a talentless hack and I will give 1 star to every movie and episode she ever "stars" in? Good.
