My expectations were pretty low if I'm honest, after being underwhelmed by The Christmas episode. This new year's special was definitely more like it, it wasn't a classic episode by any means, but it was so much better, and pretty funny.
The first thing that was evident, was the bigger cast, the show had always thrived on its variety of quirky characters, lots in this one.
Some nice messages here, that bit of sentimentality that used to be so good, that talk about fog was nice.
There was a bit of repetition, some of the gags have been done before, but at least we weren't bombarded with talk of Covid.
I'm glad it's back next year, but Brendan you need a few fresh ideas, 7/10.
