Exclusive: Entertainment Squad, has acquired SXSW’s premiere film, Peak Season, and set a theatrical release for August 2.
Helmed by Henry Loevner and Steven Kanter, who previously collaborated on the critically acclaimed The End of Us, Peak Season is an exploration of personal discovery and the road less traveled set against the stunning backdrop of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The film stars Claudia Restrepo, Derrick DeBlasis, and Ben Coleman, Fred Melamed and Stephanie Courtney who is famously known as “Flo” in Progressive commercials.
Both a bittersweet romantic comedy and a clever social commentary, Peak Season follows a burnt-out New Yorker who travels to Wyoming with her fiancé, but then falls for a handsome, yet troubled ski-bum, and questions whether to leave her city life behind.

In the early 2000s, Amanda Bynes was the darling of teen comedies, starring alongside heartthrob Channing Tatum in the 2006 romantic comedy, She’s the Man. Yet, she has been out of the acting business for over a decade, which is difficult to believe. The Emma Stone-starring comedy flick Easy A, which came out in September 2010, was the She’s the Man star’s last acting role.
But in recent years, Bynes, 37, has been in the news more for her erratic behavior than her acting chops. Recently, fans have begun to express concern about her mental health after she announced a major career change.

I say this a lot, but audiences are important. If you’re putting something out into the world, and don’t have a sense of who would care about it, it might be because no one will.
But “people like me” is a valid answer. “People like me at age 10” is an even better one. People get quirkier and more specific every year they live; every eighty-year-old is an entirely different microsegment. But kids are still early in that journey; they’re weird and particular but still care about a lot of the same things.
And a good “this is the kind of weird kid I was” book is always welcome. Maybe an Artist is that kind of book, from cartoonist Liz Montague. It is about her childhood, and it is aimed at people who are children now – or who will be children when they read it; there’s no...

Kenzie Ziegler and Maddie Ziegler are certainly not strangers to working together. The sisters were only 6 and 8 when they joined the cast of Dance Moms. The show served as their intro into the entertainment world and help both of the dancers launch their respective careers. Furthermore, the pair were tasked with collaborating with one another in a group dance on a near-weekly basis for six years. But while their days of competition dance are long behind them, the sisters are planning to unveil a different kind of collaboration in the coming months.

It’s impossible to talk about Dance Moms without mentioning Mackenzie Ziegler. The youngest member of the original cast, the talented dancer was (and remains) a clear fan-favorite. But Ziegler didn’t just have a passion for dance. She also expressed a deep interest in music throughout her tenure on the Lifetime show. But is Ziegler still making music today?

Fans of Dance Moms might be hard-pressed to find a time when Ziegler wasn’t showing an interest in music. In season one, her mother (Melissa Gisoni) made it clear that her daughter was taking weekly voice lessons. In later seasons, Abby Lee Miller entered the dancer in the lip synching category of dance competitions. For example, in season 4, Ziegler performed the solo “Love Overdose,” which required her to lip synch, dance, tumble, and emote.

When Kenzie Ziegler (professionally known mononymously as Kenzie) revealed that she was releasing her latest single, “paper” on January 13, many of her fans went wild. For months, the singer had been teasing snippets of the soft ballad via her TikTok page. Actor-turned-film critic Kamaal Rashid Khan, better known as Krk, who was arrested on Monday for a 2020 tweet, has done a few Bhojpuri films and just two Hindi films in his career. One, the action-thriller ‘Deshdrohi’ and the 2014 runaway hit ‘Ek Villain’, where he had a cameo appearance. Nevertheless, he is a social media star commanding a vast loyal following.
In fact, ‘Deshdrohi’ is one of the worst films that one could ever think of and that could give nightmares to the likes of Alfred Hitchcock, Akira Kurosawa and Francois Truffaut over its outrageous content, pulpy writing, bad acting and everything bad that one could think of.
But, if the logs of Torrents are put to audit, ‘Deshdrohi’ will secure a spot among the most downloaded films and the ones with the highest number of seeds, thanks to hostelites and engineering students.

Indian actor Ranveer Singh appeared before the police on Monday to record his statement in a case registered against him for sharing his nude photographs on his Instagram account.
The Bollywood actor’s images were from a photoshoot last month for New York-based Paper magazine.
A preliminary chargesheet was registered against the actor in Mumbai last month under various sections of India’s criminal code.
The charges included “hurting women’s sentiments and modesty”.
“The actor appeared before the investigation officer today morning at 7am and his statement was recorded till 9.30pm,” an officer told The Indian Express newspaper. “Based on our questionnaire, he has given a handwritten statement to us.”
After the images were released on 22 July, Mumbai-based matrimonial lawyer Vedika Chaubey and a nonprofit, the Shyam Mangaram Foundation had filed a complaint against Singh, requesting the police to investigate whether the 37-year-old actor had intended to offend women.

Messiness is essentially the theme of Kimmy Gatewood’s “Good on Paper,” so it’s fitting the director and actress’ feature filmmaking debut is just that: messy. Not that it’s lacking charm, mostly care of star and screenwriter Iliza Shlesinger, who gamely co-opts her own notoriety and crazy stories to offer up an anti-rom-com with some sage insights about both modern romance and the stand-up comedy game. And yet, despite a clever idea at its heart — a serial dater meets a guy who seems too good to be true, a concept Shlesinger mined from her own bad dating experiences — “Good on Paper”
Still, that doesn’t mean such insight and sparkle isn’t present, but they are often buried beneath scattered plotting that seems oddly uncomfortable with sticking to one idea for longer than a single scene or two. Ideas aren’t the problem here: Shlesinger and Gatewood are full of them,...

A “Jacob’s Ladder”-ish paranoid thriller arriving just in time to find conspiracy theories plunked right in the middle of post-election American politics, “Wander” only muddies the water further. This latest collaboration between director April Mullen and writer Tim Doiron offers yet another unpredictable shift, but pushes its idiosyncrasies off a cliff before establishing any narrative terra firma.
There is some pleasure to be had in watching an atypically frenetic Aaron Eckhart as a Ptsd-afflicted loner wading deep into possibly-imagined evildoings in the Southwest, with Tommy Lee Jones and Heather Graham also welcome as two allies. Still, the film’s hyperbolic style and convoluted storytelling tend to exhaust patience rather than build intrigue, making for a muddle whose too-many twists and turns ultimately seem meaningless as well as implausible. Saban Films is releasing the Canadian co-production to American audiences via digital, on demand and available theaters Dec. 4.
