Walt is still here
silverton-3795930 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
We're still stuck with Walt and he's still a scumbag. Trolling 12 step fellowships for people to bust is about as low as a federal agent can go and Walt is luxuriating in it. This series has managed to paint DEA agents as psychopaths, or at least sociopaths. Is that what the aim of the writers had been? Is the job description being a liar and ruining the lives of small time nonentities while allowing the violent men you're supposed to be after, get away with doing what they like?

Breslin goes at everything crabwise, avoiding confrontation with violent criminals and busting the least harmful players he can find. I find myself hoping to see him fired or jailed himself.

Luis Gerardo Mendez shines as Victor Tapia, a corrupt Juarez policeman who gets sidetracked into looking for a young girl who has become a victim of the Juarez serial killers who target young women. Mendez is a well known TV actor in Mexico and is very good in his role. There are lots of story arcs starting up in this season opener. So far, so good with season 3.

Promising start in the next season

Narcos: Mexico is still probably the best Netflix originally show, maybe after Narcos itself.

Season 2 already was soo amazing. Can't wait to see how it will continue.

Slowest n dullest start.
Fella_shibby2 December 2021
Characters - Pablo, Pacho, Navegante, Chepe, etc will be heavily missed but at least they cud have taken Miguel Felix n Don Neto.

The character Walt Breslin is boring n not at all convincing.

Another new character Victor (the cop looking for the missing girl), Amado's sudden family background story involving his asthmatic daughter, the so called new politician Hank, Amado's sudden change of heart by not showing respect to his partner, the annoying female journalist/narrator, Breslin's girlfriend, etc.... all these are jus added for lengthening the story but these stuff don't add anything better for the show.

Let's see at least where Victor's story goes n concludes.

I'm finding it a little difficult to watch...

Not having Felix is a huge loss because he was such a charismatic character. My reaction to more storyline for Walt is lukewarm. I'm already seeing bad reviews but I want to make my own judgement.

12 Steps

Warning: Spoilers
Just like the third season of Narcos sans Pablo Escobar, the third season of Narcos: Mexico will be without a key character and as a result it feels a little bit mish-mashed. It also seems like it is not clear who this season is going to focus on with too many different players introduced, but not necessarily highlighted, in the premiere.

The tone of the show is still good, they never make us wait too long before we get a little bit of violence and chaos, but I also feel like there were so many missed opportunities tonight in this season premiere where they dropped the ball in not giving us substance.

A female narrator was a bad idea
anasbtr10 November 2021
Not being sexist but this female narrator is worst than the previous male ones. Worst than Scoot Mcknairy who was good and definetly worst than Boyd Holbrook in the first seasons, whose narration was the best and made the show even better.

Season 3 - Weakest Link
jenniferwarnock11 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This is the last installment , and I was hoping it would start with a bang. Man, this installment has been a slow, drawn, unfocused bore so far.

The cons: the narrator-terrible. Her story line- also boring. Literally I could care less about her. She is in a few dangerous situations, and I wasn't afraid for her.

  • slow episodes, moving at glacial paces -way too many personal storyline narratives. Season is slow to kick in. If I wanted to watch "Love Life," I'd turn it on. Just give us the drugs and shoot outs please.

-no Pedro pascal (this is just a personal one, lol)

the pros:
  • Scoot features prominently
  • el Chapo is the main draw, and the actor is fabtastic
-great set dressing and action sequences (when they happen)

Cheap Soap opera
a-paciano6 November 2021
This look like a cheap soap opera from Televisa. The writing is really bad. If you don't get your script right, your show is doomed no matter what. Actors don't help much here. But it is not entirely their fault: the casting is one of the worst I've ever seen. Do yourself a favor and watch instead Zero Zero Zero or Gomorrah.
