This movie is heavily inspired from an Indian movie named One (Nenokkadine).

An Exercise In Frustration Warning: Spoilers
Sitting through 'El dia que me perdi' is equivalent to counting half the grains of sand on a beach, having a rogue wave roll over your spot, and starting the count over again. If I wasn't already bald, I'd have clumps of hair in my palms just 30 minutes into this frustrating film. I get it. The daughter suffers, or rather, lives with schizophrenia (since most people with the disease don't really struggle with it because they actually don't know they have it). Thus, the filmmaker felt it was necessary for us to view this movie from the daughter's jumbled perspective, unusual psychedelic camera views, and people suddenly appearing and disappearing from view. To their credit, maybe I was supposed to know about the schizophrenia. I didn't. I only watched it because of its high ratings. That will teach me next time to read the synopsis. Shame on me.

A mirror of society

I started watching the movie thinking that the plot would be similar to any family violence story. To my surprise the plot takes an impressive turn that kept me trying to decipher the puzzle that the director poses. Without spoiler I can say that the closure left me impressed and satisfied.

The sublime theme of the film has kept me glued to the couch throughout the film. Recommended. Without a doubt, a great movie for all women who suffer from a battering husband.
