good one from japan.

From japan. Tasuku has just become a father, but he's just a kid himself. And a screwup at that. And drinks too much. When he shows up drunk and naked at the (televised) namahage festival, the towns-people are horrified and dis-honored. So tasuku leaves town. After two years, he returns, to make things right. But his girlfriend is getting married. Lots of long, thoughtful pauses. He can't seem to escape his own past. He just hasn't grown up yet. Pretty intense ending. Nothing too tragic... just intense. Written and directed by Takuma Satô. Has written several works that have been made into film. Any crybabies around is what they say when they dance around, dressed up as monsters, and scare the young children at the festival.

Personal Struggle.

There's something special about this film.

I would recommend it to young fathers. Or men struggling with fatherhood, or alcohol.

I watched it on netflix not knowing anything about. I hope to see another of this directors films soon.

I have nothing bad to say about the film. It surprised me. Good performances and direction. And I learned something about the culture that I never knew before.
