- The wolf's breath could be seen behind the child, entering between the wooden planks of the outhouse the child went to at night. That is one of the most frightening scenes, representing the wolf's hunger.

- Two of the kids get killed and decapitated. The heads are shown in close up on the window frame.
- Blood is shown. The mother has to wash the walls sprinkled with the blood of her children. A man gets burned alive and killed with a stone.
- It is implied that the man ate the two children but not much is shown or told about that; but he did carry their headless bodies into the woods to his hut.

- The movie has some disturbing scenes. The wolf is represented by a mad man lusting after the children's mother and who eventually ends up killing and possibly eating two of her children.
