Evil at the....I fell Asleep
jeroduptown29 January 2022
This is 90 minutes of waiting to see "the locusts" (think Purge knock-off people) take out their targets. Snoozer...dialogue is terrible...acting to match.

Home invasion on a timer
BandSAboutMovies22 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
For almost a hundred years, The Locusts have treated their followers to one night - three hours - where they can do anything they want to a selected home and any of the people they find inside. The Locusts have selected the home of Daniel (Matt O'Neill, Candy Corn) and Jessica (Sunny Doench, Coffin). Complicating matters is that there may be a Locust who isn't on the same side as everyone else, plus Jessica's sister Liz (Andrea Sweeney Blanco) is hiding under the bed trying to escape.

Like a combination of The Strangers and The Purge, the film begins with John Doe (Bruce Davison, who has nearly 300 credits, but may be best known for being in X-Men as Senator Kelly; you may also recognize him from The Lords of Salem or The Crucible) invites the cult's member to initiate the Night of the Locusts.

A family that barely gets along being surrounded by four cult members who can get away with anything that happens. Great set-up, right? Yes, it is. The execution - CGI stabbings instead of practical effects and costumes that look like the Wish version of Ghost from Call of Duty - take away the good will that the opening created.

Fans of TV's Dynasty and The Colbys will, at least, be happy to see John James (Jeff Colby!) show up. His next movie is My Son Hunter, playing President Biden. It's directed by Robert Davi and stars Gino Carano so...

Director, writer, producer, editor and one of the actors - he's Truman - Kipp Tribble did more than just two or three things on this movie. I wish that he could have followed up on pieces he set in motion. That said, he's figured out how to pull this movie together with a small crew and a low budget.

A generally unimpressive effort in a highly problematic genre
kannibalcorpsegrinder1 February 2022
Arriving home from work, a stressed family man trying to deal with his sister-in-law's unexpected arrival finds that his home is subjected to a home invasion by a series of masked intruders carrying out orders from a mysterious cult leader and must try to survive the night.

For the most part, this was a generally underwhelming genre effort. Among the few positives here are generally kept to the efficiency and professionalism of the intruders. Operating under guidelines involving various mandates for how much time must be spent chasing down victims and how to operate while inside the house, the appearance of a well-oiled and intense unit is established quite well here providing a sense of eeriness and unease while they're moving through the house. Some of the scenes relating to the invasion with the group carrying out their orders while the family tries to avoid the group, all come off with a modicum of suspense as well but are all that really works for this one. However, beyond these factors, there's very little about this one that's worthwhile. The majority of the problems stem from the barely threatening aspects of the invasion itself. The whole idea of the society here carrying out the orders for breaking into the homes of others as some kind of mysterious secret cult is all completely underwhelming and unexplained. All the intel gathered about them comes from a comically overwrought recorded video message that still remains incredibly vague about what's going on as the entirety of the invasion plays out in the house where the group is going along with already-aware information of what to do yet say nothing clarifying anything to anyone. That, unfortunately, is barely enough to overcome the flaws found in the pacing and approach taken here. Since the film relies on a timer for all their activities to take place, nothing remotely interesting happens for long stretches of time featuring the various groups waiting around for things to happen. From the intruders waiting around outside the door to break into the bathroom politely during a home invasion, the sister that no one knows is there waiting under the bed for a spot to leave and the wife ignoring everything around her to take a bath, this lack of activity leaves long stretches of boredom here. Along with the utterly abrupt ending and lame CGI for the lone kill present, all make this one highly underwhelming and unenjoyable.

Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Language, Violence, and mild drug use.

This is what u get if the Purge only had a $100 budget. Idk what else to say about it. Audio isn't that great and the music is an acquired taste for sure. Watch this if u have nothing else to watch I've seen porn with better acting lmao.

Main characters are so hateful you not only don't give a damn if something bad happens to them, you actually wish it. Hard. Direction inexistent, editing amateurish. Avoid it.

Good lord, i hate this movie but i also hate myself for watching it all.

Nothing about this movie is even passable, and the best thing ? They gathered all actors that are well known for being in bad movies that u don't recall their names or the name of the movies they were into.

To say this is like a made to tv movie is an insult to those movie, i seen youtube movies with better production values.

I hate myself for watching this, i really am the most upbeat movie watcher ever, to a point people say i get happy to know i watched a movie.

This one ? Hell no, hell no, please, stay away from it, if u have any regard to ur own happiness, stay away.

Night of the Locust
nogodnomasters4 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
A group of men are assigned to kill a couple. People do not appear to be at random but rather someone who crossed a corporation. Daniel (Matt O'Neill) is part of an investigation at work. His sister-in-law (Andrea Sweeney Blanco) has come to stay with them, someone he doesn't like. Jessica (Sunny Doench) wants her to stay. They don't count on her being there. This then becomes a home break-in.

The film does not follow the typical home break-in script. And that is all I am going to say on that.

Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.

Snooze fest
ssal-457601 February 2022
Lousy acting, made no sense. What happened to filmmaking. Budge must of been less than 100 dollars. Just a waste of time. Boring as hell. Willard actor must be hard up for a few thousand dollars.

All signs of wannabe filmaking, from the start you feel the tingling nauseaus feeling in your guts, due to flashing and fluttering visual techniques, the close up filmography and the ''motionfilled'' cameraangels are very revealing on the art of craftmanship.

Next is acting, couldve worked in a true crime tv series episode dramatization, but not in a fiction feature film, they are like gobsmacked, and doesnt seem to befriend the ambience of acting as being opposed to something evil. The heads nods and shakes and the foreheadwrinkles are like glued on, its more like strobelight fever and angst acting in front of a camera that rules.

So apart from a terrible script supporting shivering actors the story and plot is merely of the laughable kind, as the culprits are being directed from a underground eveil force, and all their deeds are done in a soup of brainwashness of generic genocide...where have peoples fantasy gone, has it been obliterated by the digitoxiounous digital era?

So if you wanna have a relaxed screenview without anger and resentment, how to claim your money back, stay away from this professional amateurcladden motheaten sammensummarium called ''evil at the door''. A 2 minus from the grumpy old man... and should we tolerate silly movies like this at all, i feel dum having taken the baith at my 666th try to find a reason why to even try watcing the next kid on the block .

Major Suspense Built! Fun movie, with unexpected ending!
KionneyKai22 January 2022
Watch to the end! That's a good thing to say about this one. Such a fun little thriller horror, that really does a good job of building suspense! It's interesting watching a home invasion movie from the perspective of the invaders. Love The Purge style qualities to it. Recommend!
