Bad acting meets non existent screenplay!! Not sure whether the screenplay was even prepared before the days shoot... looks like the folks reached the set and decided what looks they want from each actor (eg - Akshara always gives that innocent girl look) and NASA a film out of it.

Too many logic mistakes - if Usha Uthup is Akshara's grandma, then how come she is going about her normal life when there is a death in her family? Why does Akshara decide to buy condom in the shop near her home? Especially when she wants to ensure that it should remain a secret? Phew...

The movie starts slow introducing the characters and never really picks up. Not a lot is shown to indulge the viewer and the simple scenes in the film lack any intrinsic details. Except on a few occasions, it feels very difficult to keep up with the film. A better screenplay would have done justice to the story. And what was with the weird aspect ratio?

P. S. This was my first South-Indian film (I'm not counting the Hindi-dubbed 'blockbusters' I watched on TV with my family) and I like coming-of-age films, so I was all the more disappointed when the film did not meet my expectations. 😞

Realistic drama with hollow content and characters

Very few scenes and dialogs are good, but cant watchable this whole dragged drama. I didnt understand the message/intention of this movie. The making is realistic one but the content is so hollow. I felt the characters are not portrayed well and left as grey to the audiences. This is neither adult movie nor solid drama struggles in between....

Waste to time and talent

The story trues to be a dark comedy but comes off as an attempt at grabbing eyeballs.

Aimed at trying to make conversations started like the Great Indian Kitchen, it shows off excesses of youth as a defiance against social norms. Instead of delving into the long term implications of such actions, it merely glosses over the actions and thinks it is very brilliant.

Sadly, not so.

Script does not have the actors do much. All actors react like they have been sedated.

When I saw 2 days before, it has got mostly of one star ratings. But today I can see a sudden raise of nearly 700 10 star votes 😂. I hope the movie team is still working on it 😂.

Horrible screenplay and not even an iota of entertainment. The storyline is about a girl trying to lose her virginity and finding what she really wants to be. Many of the characters are shown without much depth and such a waste of talent. Not a sparkling moment or anything that is relatable in the movie. A yawn fest to say the least. In such a juvenile / young adult theme there are supposed to be punch lines and relatable dialogues at the least. The narrative was so boring and no element of surprise or even a sense of relatability to this.make a list of all rote to adulthood Hollywood movie and pick the bottom most of them. This movie is about 10 notches below that bottom. If someone puts a gun to watch this movie... please die.

Worst amateur movie ever. Newbie students can make better movie. Akshara matched her dad in weirdness with this. She makes Shruti a great actress. Never ever.

What did I just watch? No point, hopeless and extremely boring movie. Easily the worst movie of this year and can guarantee that any other movies to be released rest of the year will not take this movies place. Really wonder what made the director think he can direct a movie? The acting was really pathetic and audio dubbing was horrendous.

Simple story, grounded, realistic characters

A coming of age story of a teen girl raised in a very conservative and authoritative household. There are no sudden gusts of wind making the hair of the heroine sway. Or any slipping incidents that make the heroin fall into the arms of the hero. The hero is not an ultra-powerful hulk who saves the heroine from the bad guys.

The romance, sex and everything else is very realistic. This film is real life. Loved it for its realism. Though the story could have been better. Akshara Hassan tries to act, her acting is not without ease, not effortless. But her character is endearing and relatable. So are the characters of her friends and the boyfriend.

To show an orthodox beahmin family in a bad light seems to be the aim. If they have to show a generation's social issue they could have shown a familybwithou any religious connotations! Not worth wasting time.

A sensibly handled adult theme that will definitely be a conversation starter. A must watch for all Indian women and highly relatable concept. A breezy 80 minute watch that won't disappoint.

If you have insomniac, do watch this movie you will get sleep from no where Damn boring and the movie have taken as in third class serial quality.

I couldn't watch the movie in single stretch so I used this movie to get faster sleep and completed it in a weeks time.

A Interesting one line , better Cinematography and a good screenplay (with some flaws).... Good acting bu Akshara.... But i felt : this story is worth to picture for more than 2 hrs....but it was not done....otherwise if this was made into a webseries it was to good...But unfortunately...

A film school student's review OMG! It's a teenager losing her virginity, but let's forget that for one sec. There are so many exciting layers in this movie that slowly reveals themselves in the second watch - the color palette, the aspect ratio, the beautiful long takes, the chaotic handhelds. A visual treat!

This movie has stayed with me I saw this movie at the international film festival in Canada and couldn't stop thinking about it. This movie has handled such a sensitive topic well and I'm glad it finally found a good platform.
