Seemed like an amateur attempt
thindi315 September 2021
The plot had a lot of potential. The people were the typical good looking young folks. Their skills might have been better if the writing had been better. It was like it was missing some transitions between aspects of the plot. It didn't flow and it seemed a little stiff. I have seen much better acting than this show. Very hard to believe the people. Sorry to say it. Don't know if it was the acting or the writing. Good when you just want something to take your mind off of a boring day maybe?

Not good, but not that bad
Jackbv12312 January 2022
My main complaint with this movie is that I really didn't like the arrogant and rigid Meg. And she took too long to ask for help. Throw in the wedding turning into a disaster and it was hard to stick through. The bride wasn't too appealing either, but at least she had a good reason to be stressed.

I knew in an early scene what was going to cause a problem and how it was going to be solved. But Meg's solution to the bigger conflict was cute especially the way it was executed. So the last part of the movie was an improvement.

Kasey Landoll and Travis Burns connection didn't seem real to me, but I think that was Meg's arrogance.

I often joke about broken pipes being the go-to excuse for canceling Christmas pageants, but that would have been far preferable to the venue problem in this movie.

Seeing all the one star reviews and rating distribution makes me wonder if there is some ballot box stuffing on this movie, but I wonder why? Hallmark hatred? That would be ironic since I saw this on their new competitor GACF.

One of the worst Hallmark films ever
gordonm88815 June 2021
Blame this on Jake Helgren - he wrote and directed this film. It is the "Plan 9 from Outer Space" of Hallmark movies and Helgren is its Ed Wood.

Almost every scene involves characters who stand in one spot, unmoving, with their arms pressed against their sides as they talk. The result is a movie that doesn't "move;" which contributes to the coma that the viewers slip into. It is terrible DIRECTING. Incredibly amateurish.

And Helgren's screenplay? The bride is a shallow neurotic fragile woman who is unlikable and whom no man would want to be married to. The romantic leads (Best Man and Maid of Honor) have no chemistry, and even worse, have no personality. Their dialogue simply moves the story forward but is boring to listen to. The change of heart by the bride, which saves the wedding, is based on a stupid idea and simply lacks any authenticity or believability.

This movie didn't deliver either of the two essential virtues of a Hallmark film -it had characters that we didn't care about and there was no sense of "fun" as the film progressed through its predictable plot. I don't recall a single scene that had any emotional power - no joy, no sense of romance or happiness or anything.

I gave it 2 stars because the scenes were well lit.

Couldn't Be A More Unlikable Cast of Characters
koolhandkarl29 August 2021
Literally no one was worth rooting for. Every character was abysmal. I vehemently deleted it off the DVR wishing I could get the same satisfaction in doing so as I once did from slamming down a telephone.

Scraping the Bottom
kirbyditko4 May 2021
Probably the most insipid, inane and imbecilic tv movie Hallmark has ever produced.

The script sounds as if it were written by a bunch of 13-year old girls at a sleepover. And they agreed to direct it themselves by consensus.

Just bad...
suzpom8 May 2021
Okay, so we all know how these Hallmark movies end, but at least some of them are worth the time it takes to get to it.

This one, however, was poorly written, poorly directed, poorly acted, just poorly...

Come on, Hallmark, I hope you can do better than this... but I'm starting to doubt it.

A Bad Attempt
jbeanmk7 August 2021
This movie is a bad attempt. While watching I wondered if the actors and crew knew what a disaster they were creating. It seemed like an amateur project with actors who are still in training. We learn from our mistakes and the actors and staff have a lot to learn.

This is NOT a Hallmark movie!
Hallmarklover2475 July 2021
For all you saying omg hallmarks lost their mind and has gone bad, this is NOT hallmark! This is showing on Hallmark in August 2021 as an acquired movie that was made by another company that is NOT Hallmark! Get your facts together before you automatically assume its Hallmark. Gee whiz. Everyone just automatically assumes what they think is right.

Clean, But Frustrating
athompsonblue2 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
If you need something nice to kill 80 minutes with, this movie is excellent. The protagonist is a maid of honor and professional wedding planner, who thinks she can do everything herself and balance both her best friend's wedding and a celebrity client's. Her own love interest is the best man, with whom she clashed in college because she was a control freak and he was lazy.

A big part of the plot is the best friend getting cold feet because of wedding stress. It's a classic case of sweating the small stuff, thinking more about a perfect wedding than the actual marriage. In the story's late conflict, I was thinking that the groom shouldn't even take her back. If I were him, I wouldn't want a wife who's going to lose her priorities and fall apart that easily over frivolous stuff.

Insufferable female characters, poor writing, listless direction, and full of absurd scenes. Ugh.
MichaelByTheSea15 January 2022
First, I enjoy Hallmark movies and grade them on a curve. I'm very forgiving. But this movie was difficult to watch (although it was apparently produced outside Hallmark's normal production system). The bride to be went back and forth between being pleasant and easy going to whiny and irrational. Her fiancé did NOTHING wrong but she kept threatening to call off the wedding just because the wedding plans went off track (through no fault of her fiancé). Good luck handling REAL marriage problems Bridezilla.

Her best friend/wedding planner Meg tried to be a good friend, but it was aggravating listening to her constantly snap at and insult the best man like he was a rotten child. She walked around with an air of superiority that was completely off putting. And that lady who overbooked the wedding venue and didn't realize it until the weekend of the wedding?? And the cake maker who lost track of the cake order? Really? Having the chalet spontaneously explode would be more believable than it being double booked for a reunion.

Meg's parents were awkward and weird during their rehearsal dinner speech. The bride's future mother in law was a caricature who barked at her for no reason. And the bride avoided the only bridesmaid who showed up (granted she was also annoying). And what about the romantic outdoor movie experience with a big screen and a concession stand? The bridesmaid and the other guest staying at the house were told they couldn't watch, but Meg and the best man could, while loudly arguing over how to eat a hot dog. And did anyone notice they were all watching a blank screen?

Meg would behave in ways even a teenager would know was inappropriate. Working on her laptop (??!) during the opening of gifts at a shower? Who would do that?. She also took a call and walked away during her best friend's speech at the rehearsal dinner. What ??? It wasn't even her big new client who wanted a huge wedding on just a month's notice, it was her boss looking for some meaningless reassurance after hours at night. Meg couldn't wait to return the after hours call a few minutes later? And put the phone on silent? Really? We get it, she's BUSY and has a lot of work trying to plan a wedding for some celeb who thinks it's realistic to have a lavish 500 person wedding with fire dancers with just a month of planning. But that was all just lazy writing.

Give me Bridal Wave, Wedding Every Weekend, or even A Country Wedding with the annoying Jesse Metcalfe (that dude always looks constipated). There are sooooo many better Hallmark movies.

Truly Pathetic!
hillhar17 July 2021
Several of the recent summer movies have been poor, but this is truly awful. The writing is junior high level at best and the acting is bottom of the barrel. Who on earth thought this should be televised????

Sadly I Must Say ---> Don't Watch It
luzj7022 September 2021
Probably one of the WORST movies ever on the Hallmark channel! Storyline, directing, acting....it was all terrible. It was so painful to watch I couldn't even get through half of it. There was no life to it! No chemistry anywhere. Felt like I was watching a middle school play, and lately even those are better than this.

Boring, disconnected cast, and just plain bad acting.
krista_lopez6 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I'm a sucker for a good cheesy Hallmark storyline but his was just plain bad. Warning, spoiler alert ahead...

If someone says they don't want to get married; that something feels off, is the right thing to do to pressure them into going through with it. I get the nervous pre-wedding jitters but not only was the bride repeating her self every other sentence about not wanting to go through with it but her whiny tone probably would have made the groom want to call it off just so he didn't have to hear that for the rest of his fictional life.

Don't get me started on the stereotypical "we were all acquaintances in college" backstory and "everyone changes" because the characters were poorly developed and acted as though they hadn't made it out of junior high, let alone college.

Save yourself two hours and skip this one. Don't make the same mistake I did by hoping it would get better with time!

Just plain awful.

Apparently desperately reaching during a pandemic to bring new content to the screen, but at what cost? Admittedly I'm no actor or script writer, but I do know what I like, and this movie doesn't qualify.

Don't waste your time
caraleighann17 September 2021
There's 2 hours of my life that I'll never get back. I wanted to like it, but there is no redeemable quality. Not one. I kept waiting for it to get better...it did not. To simplify - it was just bad. Don't watch it.

Mind numbing
bhar9449442 September 2021
This is the worst movie I've ever seen bar none. What awful writing. Actors are probably ok, but the material was juvenile. Directing was terrible too, the characters did some really inane things. I struggled through about 30 minutes and finally gave up. I hope this is not the new direction for Hallmark. I'll be moving onto another channel if so. Let's get some witty banter and more intelligent material, like from Paul Campbell.

So bad! Wow
Yomayra2220 September 2021
I love my cheesy Hallmark movies but wow this was by far the most horrendous movie they've ever released. It literally took me 3 days to get through because it was horrible I kept turning it off and then I'd give it another try (I don't know why!). The writing, the acting, the plot... it was all terrible. Very disappointing Hallmark!

Inane, Insipid and Insufferable
htwyzwhvn5 October 2021
Over the past few months, there have been some genuinely well written and acted movies on Hallmark as part of their new batch of films. THIS is the polar opposite. Poorly acted, lamely written and disjointed editing renders a hallmark Hallmark premise Inane, Insipid and Insufferable.

Awful Movie
Leemelod4 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The bride was literally looking for every excuse in the book to not get married. They should have just let her call the wedding off, but they kept pushing her. This girl was clearly not ready to be a wife and all the challenges of being one. It was like everything was about the wedding and no one was thinking about the actual marriage. Enter in the magic box of memories and suddenly she is all in again to get married. *eye roll* The maid of honor was annoying, but what happened was not her fault. The best man acting like it was her fault was ridiculous. Also I could never root for the best man and maid of honor as a couple. They were so wrong for each other and did not make a good team at all That line was laughable. They had less than 0 chemistry and argued throughout the whole movie.

Has Hallmark Run Out Of Decent Script Writers?
YabbaDabbaDabba20 June 2021
And, has Hallmark also run out of taste, professionals such as producers, directors, actors, and anybody affiliated with this silly nonsense? If this isn't the bottom of the barrel, I definitely don't want to see the bottom. It must really smell, because this on left a trail of its own. Scrub this dog from your resume, or your nonexistent career will put you as a barista at a 7-11 market.
