Argentinian Noir
Pairic1 June 2020
Intuition: A prequel to Perfidia; Pipa (Luisana Lopilato) becomes a detective after a member of Inspector Juanez's (Joaquin Furriel) team gets a foot caught in a beartrap. Pipa was providing backup as Juanez corned a serial killer. Due to her perceptive comments and analysis the Inspector co-opts her on to his squad. They are swiftly investigating the murder of a young socialite but Juarez is under suspicion of murdering a man who had accidentally killed juanez's wife. A dark and gory addition to the Argentinian Noir genre though it perhaps gets over complicated at times with the number of suspects and red herrings in the socialite's murder. Thing get more convoluted as Pipa is secretly assigned to investigate her boss. Still, Writer/Director Alejandro Montiel delivers an engaging and watchable thriller. 7/10. On Netflix.

A Good Argentine suspense film ...
RosanaBotafogo2 June 2020
Well, but inferior to the first, here some situations sounded forced, the plot not very interesting, supporting Pipa that becomes the protagonist, a good Argentine suspense film ...

It is not at the level of the first installment
faer_kr30 May 2020
An Argentine thriller. Do you remember the saying that the second parts are always bad? Well this is a prequel to "Lost". And the film is not really bad, it is entertaining, of quality, the cases it handles are interesting. Only two sequences are not completely achieved. The last 5 minutes are spectacular. Performances are where they should be. The problem with this movie is that it doesn't have the cohesion of the first one. In fact to be a prequel it does not have the action and intrigue of "Lost". It does not show the motivations of the character of Pipa who is the protagonist. He does not speak about his traumas and motivations that lead to being a policeman and that lead to discovering things. He only mentions the past event once. There is no union between the main character of the film that we have already seen in this one, it is supposed to be a long time ago, these motivations are better marked.

Disjointed
Neon_Gold28 May 2020
I found this kinda confusing and boring and I can see there is a good idea in here somewhere I just don't feel like they executed it very well.

It was a bit slow and this didn't help it any when I was confused as I just started to loose interest.

The opening is something else in its own. It is so unnecessary and if they scrapped it they would have shaved time of a long Enough movie.

It kinda reminded me of a plot that could have been on True Detective But not as good as their stories.

So I would skip it I guess

Not dishonorable, but is part of the standard batch of good script illustration
It is an Argentinean crime film, which mixes an investigation to find a killer and an investigation on a policeman himself suspected of murder by revenge of a thug. The policewoman who is on both investigations (Luisan Lopalito, perfect) has a lot of work and must manage both: the first investigation with her colleague, who is the subject of the second investigation that she carries out, without him knowing it of course.

The film has a beautiful cast, conducted effectively, while responding to the clichés of the genre. With a dramatic articulation that maintains the interest of the spectator thanks to the two investigations that are thought to give the explanations at the last moment with the false leads that go well to make the suspense last. And the film ends with the right revelations.

The whole team is at the service of the story and the scenario, without any concern for invention, for getting around clichés. It is therefore a production that meets the basic job of telling a story, with knowledge, but without invention. This Netflix production is not dishonorable, but is part of the standard batch of good script illustration.

Unwatchable.
connorundrumme29 May 2020
Oh, man this stinks! Right away we get an apparently very cocky police dude disengaging the safety on his gun and cocking it, then marching with it pointed straight into a dark forest with no target anywhere in sight, nor any idea of where one would be, and he's carrying no flashlight. A dumb and dangerous depiction, and hopefully there's a category of people who wouldn't ever consider doing this, if they had any weapons training (or common sense) at all. It's a recipe for a horrible accident, IRL.

Then, it's a scene with crosses dangling from the ceiling, a crappy candlelit shrine, and weird writings on the wall. (Clichés galore.) At less than 8 minutes in, an overly emotional and witless officer kills an innocent dog, which there was no need for. It's flagrantly emotionally manipulative for no reason whatsoever, since it didn't advance the plot or characters in any way.

Next, it starts in with the sexist remarks, the insults, the undermining, multiple men ganging up in acting arrogant and condescending. One of them is purportedly 'mentoring' another officer-a subordinate, of course. Its incredibly tone deaf and ignorant. The overacting is atrocious, too. How is this supposed to be entertainment?

Totally lazy and sh!tty writing/production!!!

Hopelessbly boring
Elderflower129 May 2020
Argentinean thriller based loosely on the books of Florencia Etcheves. What many people doesnt know is that the crime case of the two friends, is a true case and much more interesting than the movie version. The plot wasnt bad: the actors were awful. I presume they hired Luisana Lopilato (a former model and very bad actress) who is not credible in the role of the tough new detective (she can barely talk like an actor), and the other actors are equally bad. Joaquin Furriel, a great theater and movie actor, has the weight of the world on his shoulders and cannot save the film. So many argentineants talents here and the chose the worst actors I've seen in a long time. Don't waste 2 hours. "Wild tales" is much better.

Better detective
kosmasp14 June 2020
Morally speaking, what can a good detective get away with? And should we just believe him, just because he is a good cop? Why shouldn't we believe him though? Morality is a funny thing ... to a certain degree. The movie has not just a case that has to be resolved (although if you count one from the beginning there is already two of them), but a mystery surrounding the main character.

Well told and nicely edited this works in my humble opinion. Having said that, for some it may feel a bit predictable and they may see a couple of things before they are revealed. Still the tension and the suspense is there and holds the whole thing together - the actors do their best too. If you are into crime/detective movies, you will likely dig this

Another Multitasking Movie
mdelrosariosisco31 May 2020
If I want to bake bread and want to see a movie too I would use this one. Plot may be fine. But dialogue, characters and actors performances are made of bad quality cheese. In a world with sooo many good movies I cannot understand why someone in the showbiz would think "ok this looks good". A tree has more expression than Furriel. Some secondary characters had good moments (some scenes with Maite Lanata). Lopilato has not improved at all her "my mate is clogged" face. Still is better than the previous one in the saga: "Perdida".

Robots talking
Deivsoto8 June 2020
The inexpressions, the dialogues are very monotonous, bah, the bad performances and the lack of personality and spark is the first thing that floods the film with boredom and implausibility. It is all very stiff, very copied and with 0 authenticity. A police, a jargon, situations, events, that has nothing to do with Argentina. Anyway, almost everything wrong. The only good thing: photography.

Great movie
wildcat-318 June 2020
I'm not sure why the other reviewers are dissing this film. It was one of the better detective movies that keeps feeding you with the right amount of information/misinformation, right from the start and one needs to keep remembering facts from earlier on, If you like movies like Memento, Predestination, don't miss this one.

I also watched this before Perdido and I think this is so much better. It was easy to figure out Perdido but this one, everything is shown from the beginning yet nothing is inferred until the end. Then all the loose ends are tied together and it all makes sense.

I did not watch the dubbed version of the movie but the subbed version.

If you have nothing nothing to see is the best option.
felipegraphics30 May 2020
I really saw it because I see that Argentine films and series have tremendous strength, this film especially shows you the opposite. a few mistakes that you see from minute 1 the police performance is terrible thank goodness is cute. and I think it burns this great actor. In short, if you have nothing, nothing to see is the best option.

Intuition
Tweekums29 January 2022
This Argentinian film, a prequel to 'Perdida', sees Manuela 'Pipa' Pelari involved in her first major cases. In one a young woman has been found, stabbed to death, and it appears somebody moved the body slightly some hours afterwards. The second is potentially far more difficult; the man responsible for the accidental death of a police officer's wife was the victim of a fatal hit and run incident shortly after his release from jail. Inevitably the officer is suspected... he is Pipa's mentor Francisco Juanéz, a respected officer. There will be plenty of twists and turns as well as some danger before the truth is revealed.

Having enjoyed 'Perdida' I was keen to see this; I wasn't disappointed. The prologue introduces Pipa in a way that means one doesn't need to have seen 'Perdida' to get to know the character. This opening provides some good excitement before the two main cases get underway. These cases are both interesting and feature twists that are far from obvious. Of course there are some cliché moments such as police returning to a crime scene and spotting an important clue that the forensics team missed. The acting is solid throughout; in particular Luisana Lopilato who plays Pipa; Joaquín Furriel as Francisco Juanéz and Maite Lanata as murder suspect Minerva del Valle. Overall I'd recommend this to fans of 'Perdida' and those looking for a murder mystery set somewhere other than Europe or North America.

These comments are based on watching the film in Spanish with English subtitles.

Yeah, nah . . .
RosieD1018 July 2020
If you're scrolling your iPhone while watching a foreign film with English subtitles, then it can't be that good. And, it wasn't. There was a nanosec when I foolishly thought, maybe, just maybe . . . but, nah. It's a time waster.

Another cop film
Stanlee1073 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This police film has many concurrent storylines: a hunt for a serial killer that has kidnapped 2 teenagers, a detective being investigated for possible cover up of a murder, a new officer being told to spy on said detective & new case of a murdered teenager.

It starts off well as the detective and his team is closing in on the serial killer's location & ,as the viewer, is thrusted into this. I was intrigued but this descends into a mess of a film. The characters are not allowed to develop and full of clichéd cop characters: the seemingly stoic cop, his drinking & loyal cop buddy, the angry sergeant, etc.

I figured out most of the twists of this film. It's a shame that the script could not have been written with better dialogues. Many films have tried and failed to make the next Training Day among which this is one.

Netflix destroyed movie
stehaug7 June 2020
Again is a movie destroyad by NETFLIX by having it horribly dubbed by some uninspired actors who probably just reading their lines, not acting them. The flat and un-syncronized voices made the film unbearable to watch. It would have been better if NETFLIX had kept the original voices, and rather had the film subtitled.

Good crime drama
gabriel_sanchez4 November 2023
La Corazonada is like a predecessor of Perdida (2018), which feels weird, but that's how the movie industry goes - well, on the same note, for those who don't know, Angels and Demons is actually the first book on the Langdon series, but the first movie made was actually The Da Vinci Code. Like I said: movie industry, man.

Anyway, La Corazonada, or, in English, Intuition (???) shows officer Pipa on her early days, and I think that's where the problems begin. I've watched Perdida, and I know who Pipa is, so I was expecting that Intuition would give me more context to her background, but that doesn't happen. What we get is a generic crime story that slightly hints at what happens in Perdida.

(I know that there is a third installment, Pipa (2022), which should close the loop somehow. Gonna have to watch it.) As a standalone, Intuition is funny enough. The plot itself is entertaining, good on keeping us hooked to get to the truth. The final revelation is algo satisfying. Now, Intuition as part of Pipa's arc, it's dismissable; it does not add to her arc at all.

Regardless of both points to the story, Intuition is a good movie. I'd recommend it as a thriller or crime drama.
