What was that?!?!

Warning: Spoilers
Wow, that was weird. A wondered multiple times, if I was watching a cross over with Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist. I'm glad the show is back, I missed it! But had this episode aired in an earlier season, it may not have lasted much longer. I look forward to more episodes, preferably without the musical numbers!

Mostly boring
sigelm20 November 2020
First episode of Bull ever that did not entertain me at all. This show usually engages my brain cells not only during the episode, but also in the aftermath, because it raises questions. This episode had no such effect at all. The singing was pointless and tiresome. The thing that really irritated me was Bull not being able to get off his mask properly. Theatrically removing the mask with one hand, crumpling potentially infected mask in his hands, putting it on the face again... Then the actresses in the main cast who wore their masks under the chin. It is bad that so many people still don't know how they can get infected by not wearing the mask properly, but it is worse that so many prime time shows have now started to advertise the improper handling of the mask.

scary baby face
lilou-clark11 March 2022
Help!

The scenes in the car are already badly done, but the scene with the child on the balcony, really?! Couldn't they use a real baby and if not at least use a better animation?

And then the lip sync... It's embarrassing.

Amazing episode...

Yes - they addressed Covid. They didn't PREACH. They didn't make it political. It was handled well - it's a terrible illness. But it made me smile. I can't love this show any more than I do now. Awesome job!

Aside from the creepy baby.....

Warning: Spoilers
Clever episode! I admit it had me scratching my head at times and yes the creepy baby was just that... creepy. However, I always just look to be entertained and I was indeed entertained. The soundtrack provided great humor. I was touched by the ending with the cast addressing us the audience. It did mean a lot!

Commendations to the producers/writers. This was a great season opening, even breaking "the wall." Well, done!

Elephant in the Court Room
tschickel-5174919 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
There is a creepy elephant in the courtroom. It's the horrible, horrible baby CGI! That screamed 'jumping the shark' even before Bull started lip syncing as a side-effect of Covid and the resulting isolation and unknown future of his business.

Please, for the love of humans everywhere, I NEVER want to see that stupid baby cgi ever again.

Great
boobo-1722720 November 2020
I stopped watching a show for talking about Covid-19 since it's too soon for me to watch it while living in this mess. BUT the way bull team did it deserves a WOW since it's so touchy but full of hope at the same time. This episode was something else 👏🏼

Warning the Song "Dream Weaver" (if old enough to remember) will come back and get stuck in your head; OOPS it might be there now sorry.
radarfirs717 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Shalom, and Please don't want to bias you from watching it via the Spoilers I will be covering so stop here and watch it. This REVIEW is NOT a "Outline or Script" of the Movie, BUT as per IMDb instructions on Reviews - One can actually write like a discussion after the show ends with friends. Like Book Clubs did long time ago. So a Thumbs Down will offend me; due to you would not me be part of your post show discussion. To me Reviews that just cover "Outline or Script" are in the Box thinking. I am an OLD Paranoid, PTSD, Crazy Vet that thinks outside the box. Who does NOT understand those who want to read or write outline reviews? So Thumbs down also tells me you are one of those. Wait the reason those people offend me because I can't help them to do out of Box Reviews. Yes, some of my reviews are somewhat in the box, but those are r/t "Holes" that later episodes can NOT fix.

First, this is the FIRST Episode I have watched of BULL. I think Tony of NCIS wrote this episode, and the idea of so much lip singing made me worry that all of BULL episodes had this musical stuff. Then I read the Other reviews and am glad I might be able to watch another episode. I used to be a Disc Jockey in late 70s to early 80s and after a few years found out I was a Little Tune Deaf so just continued working in Healthcare. Sadly, the Musical part of the show reminds me of when "Moonlighting" (Detective TV Show with Cybil Shepherd and Bruce Wills) tried to do Musical and Shakespeare episodes. Bruce has a Voice but even could not save the episode. Due to the Musical parts I even thought that Tony of NCIS was replacing Bull and was as difficult to watch him lip syncing as when Tony had to work with Kids on NCIS. It is just too corny. I really hope in future episodes that I watch I will Bull not being Tony. I liked Tony in NCIS, I just hope the "Musical" Lip Synching of Bull was just the Tony part and Bull is a little Diff or maybe the Actor took too long to leave NCIS and will always see Tony.

Second the start of the episode until first Commercial made me think the whole show would be all "Home Alone" Corona and would have stopped watching after the first set of commercials if they did. The Scene with the CGI Infant when Bull turns around in the chair so the Infant could see the Skyline, made me wonder why they went from a Infant to someone I was waiting for the words "My Precious" would come out. The Other scenes with the Infant are still clearly CGI and makes me wonder if none of the Actors are allowed near an actual infant? Or no Infant would sign a Contract because they were unable to sing?

Third the Ending, I know I have seen many shows / episodes that end with it was all just a dream starting with Wizard of Oz, which is the only (Movie / TV Episode) that I can remember. Those that end with it as a Dream ends up being forgotten like dreams do unless you have to to a "Log / Diary" of your dreams because your mental health provider told you to. I have worked in Healthcare (USN/USMC Corpsman, USN Naval Nurse Corps Office, Travel RN, etc) for over 40 years (1/2 in Pediatrics ... why the CGI child makes me worry about the Cast of this show) one thing I know one cant be unconscious for FIVE Days in bed at home without an IV ... getting IV Fluids or really high chance of DEATH, which would have been the end of the Show. Now yes they could have been putting a Feeding Tube down him daily (Hoping that would wake Bull up) but then if you can't trust the cast / Characters with a real infant, would you really trust them placing a Feeding Tube ... and if they can afford a MD that does House Calls they would have afforded (or Insurance) a Home Care RN or CNA. Unless the Visiting House Call MD is actually House MD or some other MD from his team?

Lastly, adding all this up, Earlier it did get me to start wondering if this would end up to be a Dream. When Bull finally opens his eyes and they tell him "Five Days" (In real life - at least for the Character of Bull) he is not in a Hospital, No IV / Feeding Tube machine in the room also made me think what his partner (Earlier scene) asked maybe you are still dreaming? So was this a Dream in a Dream, but no. Which made me think of Sheriff Carter on Eureka putting on the Virtual Headgear to wake up ... but he was at least in a Hospital. Like the Bible Says "Nothing New Under the Sun" so nothing really new in this Episode. So lets see they stole from Moonlighting, Lord of the Rings, Wizard of Oz, Eureka, Maybe Grease, House MD, NCIS and also probably Ferris Buller's day off except in this Ferris is off FIVE Days ... what other? Which is why I give a "FIVE" rating several Times i was wanting to turn off the show and go watch one of the shows they copied from instead.

BONUS - The Title made me think of "Tangled" (2010) where the Kingdom is Named "Corona" and the citizens do social distancing cause they are all ill. But none of those citizens wear Masks. The Only reason this Show, and all other movies / TV shows the Characters take off their Masks is because we can see the actors faces otherwise their stunt doubles could play their parts. And the Actors could "lip Synch" like for an Animated Movie like Tangled?

Watching now --- or better said, TRYING to watch. This is a hot mess. Just half way in, and deciding to continue or cut my losses. ALSO -- whoever created the 'baby' - really creepy.

Horrific!
Havishamesque11 January 2021
I'm a big fan of Bull, but this episode is virtually unwatchable. The musical numbers are actually painful, and the CGI Astrid is the worst I've seen since Twilight. It was like spawn of Chucky. Just awful.

Completely surprised

A few shows that I have seen dealing with the Corona virus and implementing that into their shows have been seriously disappointing to say the least. I thought this episode was fantastic. There is no avoiding covid-19........ I get it. I have always enjoyed Bull and they didn't let me down. Great episode and great series!

Stupid, Silly and I'm done.....

Dr. Phil McGraw is famous for saying, "IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT." So what is this all about? Bull singing oldies, the other members dancing and singing like they are on Broadway?? Everybody is a comedian? And let's remind the watching public that Covid/masks are a way of life in 2020.

Ugh.

Wow!!! So so inspiring!!!
MAYY917 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
All of you who put this episode together are so "heartful". The struggles we're going through with COVID were talked about by Bull. Bull's lip-syncing with those fantastically appropriate songs were soul lifting. And the last song by the whole team was so great and poiniate that it made me cry with happiness and hope. Your show must go on. You're so great and necessary for our sanity always. Thank you for your show. :))

Not a good start
chad-963-3341131 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The start of bill episode one was not a good way to keep viewers. It relives the past and inserts a musical for some reason. Yes the cast intermittently does a lip sync song and dance very badly.

Then the whole episode turns out to be a dream sequence. So not only does the episode suck, they make it worse by musical filler, and then the case doesn't have an ending.

So enjoy nothing. Future episodes are better and slowly getting back to bull norm.

Living in Norway, in comparising with the USA hardly striked by Covid, it was a great opening of the season! Brilliant text frases and acting. That's why CBS is my favourite network.

Stupid Musical
centaur113520 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
If the story for the episode continued as it had started about data processing, without it being a dream, or a tin pot musical, or having pathetic covid overtones, or exiting the story without it concluding, it would have been good. Instead, it seamed like the script writers had no idea how to conclude, so not only did it turn into a dream, they exited the entire story and showed the movie set. It did not work for me. I was invested in the case. There needed to be a conclusion to what could have been a great story.

Please, no more musicals and get rid of the masks, it is no longer topical.

Brilliant!
evturner22 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The opening episode of season 5 is a nod to the reality of COVID without wallowing in it, an acknowledgment that they've been off the air for awhile, and a thanks to the faithful audience. I wasn't what sure what to make of the episode at first other than being a COVID themed story, but in the final five minutes all is revealed with a fun, heartfelt ending that recognizes the audience. Well done.

Great Episode!
Kimitino27 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
My first thought was the writers were taking a page from Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist. But Bull's coughing early on telegraphed the ending - very subtly, to be sure. All confusion vanished when Izzy appeared as the juror (although, truthfully, I don't think she has had enough screen time to be instantly recognized.) And the finale was very emotional. So nice that the writers realize this is something we all are going through and it felt like a hand reaching out through the TV set. The only better ending would have been if Chris Jackson had been allowed to sing something himself, instead of just lip-synching!

I am sick!
neverenoughgold19 November 2020
Not with covid, but I am sick and tired of reading about and watching all this crap on the news. For God's sake, I DON'T want to watch a TV show I turn to for light entertainment, with everyone suffering all the "side effects" of this miserable virus! This is fantasy folks, there is enough reality on the so called news to last for longer than I care to think about!

Terrible Covid Episode
Bfeins511017 November 2020
Despite there being a mandate to wear masks the characters in this episode chose not to wear them. Additionally, the plot was not understandable
