I really like this series however...

Warning: Spoilers
I really like this series however If Elizabeth turns on Red again I am done. I am so sick and tired of her teaming up with someone else to go against him. Especially with a mother she just met, OMG! I'm done that's all I have to say I am done. Last season was frustrating and so it took me a while to watch season 7. Enough of writing conflict between Liz and Red, try something else and not Dembe either, jeez

Sick of KR
Dear Blacklist writers: I am so utterly SICK of Katarina Rostova and Liz's back and forth with this mean, manipulative, nasty woman, that I can only hope this is a ploy for future plot twists where Liz finally comes to her senses and KR finally does die. Whatever Red is - and he's certainly not a 'good guy' in the conventional sense - he's very much aware of what he is, as he's said himself any number of times. But he is the classic 'bad guy' with the one redeeming feature that makes him sympathetic to an audience: his unconditional love of Liz, whoever she may be to him. He's proven and shown this to her (and everyone on the team) any number of times, and it is so apparent that this love is genuine. The way he holds her after she's freed from prison after the fall of the Kabal; the way he reacts when she apparently 'dies'. James Spader shows it all. And while Katarina has has nothing but 'black speech' for Red, note that Red has always spoken well of, and been sympathetic to her. So, dear Blacklist writers, I can only hope that Liz's 'choosing' this malicious woman who's only ever shown that she's the only one she truly cares about (even to leaving Agnes to find a corpse in the park to pursue her own ends), is simply a device for the subsequent episodes, and that she's not actually bailing out on Red, just to find out 'the truth'. Because if that's not the case, I really don't care if Liz ends up dead at the end of series 8 - as long as Agnes goes to a loving home and not to KR!

So very very sick
drnikic8 June 2021
Of Keen and Rostova, and of Keen constantly sh1tt1ing on Red. He's always been there for her, despite the risk to himself, unlike her mother.

Keen has become the most unsympathetic regular character in the show.

I very much hope this doesn't drag on through all of next season.

This is stupid
el9madi16 May 2020
For all i know and care about is that no evil lived more than liz, maybe she should be dead already. For god sake, is it even acceptable that the mighty and clever Reddington is not aware that she is not on his side and she is manipulating him with some childish ways. Liz should be dead within the first part of the next season, we all fall in love with the show because of Red, and she is a stupid, childish and irresponsible character. Kill her for god sake.

I appreciate the effort but,,,
christinielsen19 May 2020
While I appreciate the effort of the cast and crew to give us a season finale in this mess, it was a miss for me. I really didn't like the cartoon fillers. They were of poor quality and very flat. Can't wait for next season and a return to regular production. This series has always been a favourite of mine and I won't hold this season against them.

More Spader Please
kamille18 May 2020
This was an interesting, but very convoluted episode. I found it hard to follow, what with the "I don't want to take sides", "I'm on your side", "No, I'm on her side".. I really don't know up from down here.

What I DO know is that the minuscule amount of 3-D Reddington that we saw was pretty much the back of his head. Why? Did he grow nose warts? It was bad enough not seeing Spader in the Ressler Brothers episode, but we are STILL not seeing him, and he is the reason 99% of us watch this show!

The music was FANTASTIC!! Kudos to whomever selected the tunes .. it was such a fun treat! I may watch the episode again, just for the music... especially at the end.

The animation was okay, for a bit of change. But only this once. I really loved the animated ending, it was an awesome scene - up on the roof, with the night sky and the wind blowing. But.. that said.. I did not like the story arc that accompanied it, i.e., Liz's betrayal. Red has done nothing but love and protect her all of her life. He even bequeathed his entire fortune to her. This is the way she repays him? Why not just stab him in the back with a bowie knife; at least that would be more honest!

I hope the writers can turn things around to show Liz as truly being on Red's side (although that would be difficult considering she is THINKING these dark thoughts, not speaking them to someone).. because if she really does side against Red and her own dying grandfather, then I have zero interest in staying with the show. Red is The Blacklist's protagonist and raison d'être only because of Liz. If Liz is his enemy, then there is no show. I have nothing against the actress - she's been great - but if the character is the, ahem, "witch" she's been painted as in this episode, then I have no interest in her or the story from this point on!

So Tired
lindabellcrandall22 November 2021
All you hear from Liz is how tired she is because Katarina and Red treat her like a mushroom (keeping her in the dark and feeding her a lot of crap.) What she needs to do is put her foot down, say enough and walk away. The only reason she's in the middle is because she lets them put her there.

applause for creativity
njcohen-9238516 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I applaud the production staff for finding a way to get this finale out there for us the viewers. They did what they could in a bad situation, and for that they should be applauded. They easily could have waited 6-9 months and I don't think there was that much of a degrade of the episode, nor do I think the graphics were that bad....it was kind of fun. The negative feedback I'd give however is for the content of the episode. There were no extraordinary twists for a season finale, same old 'dance around the secret' crap that has been surrounding the show for years now. I don't feel like we're moving forward as much as we should.

Should have just stopped at episode 18.

This episode was laughably bad. Please feel free to kill off Katarina soon, her storyline ran out of being interesting 10 episodes ago.

Kudos
tsidney16 May 2020
I disagree the animation was not good. It was stylized and a taste of something different. I think they did a great job intertwining the live and animation. I agree it would be interesting to see this more often. Obviously we'd rather see the actors in their natural state; I missed mr spader's facial expressions. Bravo.

Please Kill Both Rostovas
Anonnamus9 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I'm giving this episode a 3, not a 1 only because I liked the creativity the producers showed by using animation to complete the scenes they couldn't shoot because of the pandemic. Unfortunately, it was obviously rushed, resulting in stilted dialogue and choppy transitions between scenes. After watching, I wish they would have just chosen to postpone releasing the rest of the season and added a few more weeks to season 8.

I have had a like/hate relationship with the main character since the very first episode. Where as I started off HATING her and her poor treatment of Reddington, as well as her seriously monotone acting, she grew on me as the seasons progressed. Once she finally gave up trying to find out Red's secrets, she turned out to be quite charming and a decent agent. Reddington has shown how much he cares for Liz time and time again, and has saved her life more than a handful of times. Now that Liz's mother has come onto the scene, it's clear where Liz got her whiny "it's all about me" mentality. She is seriously choosing the side of a woman she met weeks ago, who lied her way into her life? A woman who attempted to kill her own father? A woman who tortured an innocent man across the hall from her, and who put her child in a situation where she saw a murdered body? She chose this woman over Reddington, whose entire life's purpose is to take care of her? This, and the fact she let an innocent woman get shot is proof that Liz is just a terrible human being. She never even bothered trying to prove that Katrina is even her real mother. Kill them both.

I'm heartbroken that we won't get a chance to give Dom a proper goodbye, but I hope the writers will produce a script worthy of the beloved actor who played him. I hope Red wises up and shows Elizabeth some of his wrath. She deserves it. She isn't entitled to know every single detail of someone else's life. Season 7 is by far the worst in the entire series. I'm honestly glad it's over. Fingers crossed that the show gets back on track with season 8. Spader shouldn't be the only saving grace of this once-decent series.

Good adjustment - Poor execution
MeatWagon91116 June 2021
Bravo to the team for being flexible and finding a way to finish the episode. The animation though...was rough. If you're a Grand Theft Auto fan, it's awesome. If you are not, you're lucky to finish the episode.

I respect the hustle and effort to finish the season, but the animation was just as poor as some of the storyline throughout the season.

Liz - Grrr
celtigra29 August 2020
I am only rating this episode as a six. Not because of the graphics (although they were a bit dire) because I appreciate that the whole crew tried to finish the season for us but because of, you guessed it, Liz. Throughout the seven seasons there have been negative comments about her and whilst I did agree it did not stop me enjoying the storylines. However, how on earth could she do what she is doing? How dare she? She is one manipulative, deceitful, ungrateful woman - writers get a grip and make her see the light. Please.

Great effort
swwacoach25 October 2020
It's great everyone involved didn't just throw in the towel to the pandemic. It may be choppy and rushed but what ya expect? I found it fun despite its flaws and loved adding in the crew and cast comments at the end.

Keep Kelli Johnson away from the show writing for God's sake
jeffmccloudy18 May 2020
Enough of this female protagonist fail attempt. Cinema is showing that this forced protagonism to women doesn't please the public at all, so why trying this on a good show as Blacklist used to be? You've killed the best female character, Mr, Kaplan, to keep this boring, terribly played by Boon, Elizabeth Keen character.

Warning: Spoilers
Why did you break the relationship between Red and Elizabeth ? Fix everything or you will lose a lot of fans. Once upon a time, the series was interesting. it's a pain now. You kill people's interest. If it's not Red, no one will watch the show!

In terms of content, it's true that we've seen better episodes. BUT it deserves a 9/10 because the crew and cast worked during those difficult times to deliver the episode and not leave the season finale hanging. As a Blacklist fan, I hugely respect that and acknowledge the great effort they had to put in.

Nice try
happymaryellen3 June 2020
Given the circumstances, good effort! I am getting tired of katarina, or whatever the mothers name is, I hate her more than any of them. The animation was a little lacking, only showing how far our bar has moved up in the world of animation over the last 20 years. I have to meet up with other people and that I'd rather see more Spader than Liz. But overall, thank you writers, producers, and actors for give it the best shot you got!

Just kill Liz already
sikoly0818 May 2020
Liz became the most irritating, annoying character of the show. No-one cares about her, everyone wants to see Reddington. I hope they will change dramatically at the begining of the next season or I will stop watching which would be a shame because Reddington is such a great character. 2 stars instead of 1 is only for the effort and my rating has nothing to do with the animation. It is purely the worsening, incredibly annoying story with Liz, instead of focusing on the many interesting sides of Reddington or basically any other side character.

10 for the effort a 5 for the story
me_lucky_dude14 October 2020
Now before you lynch me for giving this episode 10 stars hear me out. I don't think it was the best episode ever, or the best episode of this show, but due to circumstances they tried their best to give us a final episode of this season. Now this might not have been the best way to see it, but i'm sure that if they had other options they would have tried. So this 10 is to everyone in production and the team behind the show to make this possible. There have been plenty of shows that would just stop abrupt leaving us in the dust.

Now for the storyline part. I have been sick of Liz her interaction with reddington for the past seasons. She tends to pursue her own agenda in spite of what it does to the people around her. Reddington hasn't been honest with her thats true, but his intentions towards her have always been clear. So why would it be so hard for someone to understand that sometimes you dont need to know everything. Liz has been stabbing Reddington in the back time and time again and this is the latest. She lies to her boss time and time again to safe Reddington and she lies to Reddington to pursue her own agenda. In a way she is a worse offender than Reddington. I don't like the part where Red is now shown as a weak old man to trust Lizz, while she is being shown as the real badguy of the show. I feel like next season it will be Red going against Lizz in a final showdown wich will cost him his life. I due hope though i'm wrong and they kill of Lizz in the first 5 minuts of next seasons opening, but i guess thats just wishfull thinking.

great job on this episode during the pandemic
randydb27 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Love the job done considering the circumstances, I hope they do not update it without cgi, I am tired of the secret story line, just tell the secret and move on to the great episodes, we dont need this ongoing arc, because it goes on and on and on..........., fun way to do the episode.
