The best Spider-Man stories are those that easily balance the conflict between Peter Parker and Spider-Man, with the latter having some kind of repercussion on the other one. At the same time, the best Spider-Man stories are those that make emphasis on the human side of the character or human emotions that are almost universal, and this episode kind of pulls it off but not in a perfect way.
Responsablity is one of the character's defining traits and serves as the focus of the story, with Peter failing to meet his resposabilities with his friend Harry and the rest of his friends due to being to busy with his crimefighting side. The conflict escalates when the shocker makes and appearance and the show's superb animation and clever action take centerpiece.
That being said, the story lacks a bit on the human side and it's hard to empathize with the Shocker due to him not having much depth or something that interesting, though Peter gets to learn something about responsability from him, making him try to change the way he's going through life.
With more callouts and build ups to this "Big Man", a set up for Harry's resentment towards his father and Peter and the Daily Bugle forming part of Peter's life, the episode gives of a solid experience.
7/10
