Perfect closing scene of a stellar first season
agrak-153121 April 2021
Some really great scenes in this episode. The otherwise bland mayor family finds something they enjoy doing together, Darcey as ever is pulling some crazy stunt, which has become her trademark, and the closing scene as well as line was just perfect.

I really do hope another season gets greenlit, bacause this show has been the most positive comedic surprise in decades.

Well done to every single one involved for a fantastic first season.

Now just continue feeding us more of the same without changing up this winning recipe :)

We are friends

Awesome season finale to a really great show! I'm glad they chose to bring the major storyline to a close and wrap up some loose ends. Also a fun way to end the series and get ready for a new season.

Amazing ending to one of the best shows this decade
naderofficial2 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
They did something very smart at the end, by finishing the current storyline and getting ready for a new one. Which is gonna be huge! I loved how they didn't leave us in a major cliffhanger like most shows do. 10/10 for this one seriously. The comedy in this show never fails, I have to laugh every single episode I swear it's unbelievable, sometimes I laugh like a baby non-stop. This just shows how good the comedy is in this show.

This show has GREAT potential. And If SYFY can keep going this can easily get 5-10 seasons as the story is huge and we're still at the beginning. Also we still don't know why exactly the Aliens want to destroy us. Not to mention Harry defied them at this moment by not carrying out the mission so it will be exciting to see what comes next for him. I always hated SYFY for cancelling good shows, but I'm really glad this show got season 2, The story is expandable in so many ways. I can't wait to see what comes next!

Laughs, tears and a doorknob

Warning: Spoilers
While Harry is on the verge of finishing his mission, more truth comes to light. Meanwhile Max and Sahar have unknowingly been targeted by. David and Lisa as a lead to the alien. Sheriff Mike surprises as he come to treat Liz like a valued co-worker.

Asta attempts to break the ice with her daughter who later meets with her father Jimmy in some rather bizarre tell off that goes a bit far. D'Arcy is having a down day, but has a nice talk with the Mayor mistaking encouragement for affection. D'Arcy is much more likeable and relatable this time around, yet still manages to be her zany self.

Mayor Ben arrives home to find Max, Sahar and his wife being threatened. Not wanting to wait for the Sheriff he takes action. In perhaps some of the best TV this reviewer has seen lately, Ben intercedes heroically and with his freshly freed spouse continue to beat the intruders blue.

After their beating, David and Lisa on a tip from Max's journal conclude that the alien they seek is the town doctor, a job currently held by the very unfortunate Ethan Stone whom they abduct. Expecting success, David wants to quit working with Lisa yet gets a nasty surprise when he learns how disposable he is.

Harry struggles over the decision to go through with his mission, and the truth of his freezer comes to light leading to a confrontation with a very angry Asta. Later, Harry goes to take his vehicle back not knowing Max and Asta have followed him. A funny showdown ensues but Harry ultimately chooses friendship over destruction.

A very well done season finale, and the soundtrack couldn't have been better 10/10.

Loved this episode
toriwood-300771 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I am not sure if the person giving it 5 stars was watching the same episode...

I was a bit worried with obviously them getting the second series whether they had given Harry's identity away too easily. I feel the writers had to wait for the green light so they could end it well.

I found this episode funny, and funnier than the last two episodes, it tied up some nice loose ends and helped bridge the series and brought a nice touch to Harry changing ways. Obviously Astra has seen he has changed since he murdered the real Harry that's why she had forgiven him.

His love for pizza and the developing relationships for Astra and Jay and hoped D'arcy having a happier life. Good job.

Loved the fight scene, and accompanying music (Sharing the Night Together, Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show, 1978).

Excellent season finale
xbatgirl-300298 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
First, I think my favorite moment was the Our Town song from Northern Exposure. It was one of my all time favorites and I'm glad those making this show were aware of the similarities. I do prefer the smaller stories in general, including those plot lines in this show, rather to fighting entire armies, such as the MIB (or People in Clothes). Although it was all fun.

I'm so happy the show in general seemed to figure out it's voice. I get that covid was very disruptive and I'm sure there were budget issues too. I love in the end it makes you laugh and makes you cry and you end up loving (well almost) all the characters and actors. I'm really glad they didn't end with a cliffhanger! Though I hope we can eventually find out why the real Harry killed Sam - did not see that coming. I kind of want Terry O'Quinn back so he can find his kid. I know it's silly to hope shows to last several seasons anymore, but I'm glad we're getting one more.

Laugh out loud
csos1 May 2022
Very funny with moments that made me loud out loud a few times each episode. It's all silly and could be a kids show except for the swearing, murder and some violence but basically a kids show. It reminded me a bit of Dirk Gently with its preposterous (but good) storyline and humour, but far funnier. I hope there's a third series as I'm not easily pleased these days.

It was on ok season finale
RussHog4 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The final few episodes of S1 sorta lost the plot. The government characters were very corny and stupid. Some really bad writing in those scenes. The show was at its best when the alien was at war with the kid - and when they became friends it was kinda nice but really that was the main conflict that kept me engaged. It doesn't make much sense the doctor lady would know he killed someone and still want to be friends with him. I guess this was still a fun show - however.

Heroes of Patience

Warning: Spoilers
Resident Alien's goose was cooked when the second season was announced by the network.

Harry's mission was bound to fail and he would just have to embrace humanity.

This was an uneven episode. Asta angry with Harry because the alien had killed the real Harry. Then she so readily forgives him.

The biggest surprise was that the real Harry was the one who killed the doctor.

The Lisa and David bit taking kids as hostages was lame but it did give the episode a wow moment with Mayor Ben and Kate.

10/10 for the series, but 5 for this episode
enegeorge1 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Don't get me wrong. This series was fresh and original, but they rushed the last episode and I don't understand why. When we see Asta forgiving Harry for killing the man was so fake...more like a hollow forgive so the Alien wouldn't kill everyone else (don't forget how angry she was when she found out about it in the first half of the episode). Not to mention the moment when the 3 agents come in front of the ship with Asta and Max and made it look like a hostage situation. Like they knew somehow the Alien cares about them.

In the end, we all knew this would be the ending, but with more attention to detail. Right now it felt rushed and we might not even get a new season which is a shame, because this series was great.

Heroes of Patience.

Warning: Spoilers
Up and down, more good than bad. The comedy here's more of a chuckle than the kind that stays with you though. The show has improved from the beginning, as I'm evidently still watching, but yet to reach any consistent hilarity.

Good jokes, not the best plot
shefchenko23 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
So Jay and D'arcy tried to punish J's father by risking other people's lives with that car stunt, and then chuckled in empowerment. Great! That'll teach him! This show started off in a great way, continued to keep it up for a while, but the last 2 episodes kind of ruined the good impression in me, unfortunately. And that "Kill ya later" was the lamest thing that has ever happened in a very long time. Why didn't she just wait 30secodns and kill him then? Why didn't they just kidnap him, and kill him later? Because the plot wouldn't be able to continue being ridiculous. (plus, you can't just kill a black person - it's racist). In all fairness, the "Oh, no! I forgot the pizzas!" compensated for some of the bs happening in this episode. The ending was also pretty good. Still can't give it more than 5. There were too many plot..holes and misses.

predictable

It was predictable from first episode that how is going on. It was not so bad but not good neither. The visual effect on this episode also could be better.

Sharing the Night Together
edpeace5523 April 2021
Sharing the Night Together. That was the only good part of this episode and it was great. Everything else was so goofy, disjointed, and ridiculous I wonder what happened to the writers. This was so sad. This series had a great beginning but then lost the great spark it started with. The last 3 episodes went downhill so fast that what was a promising show sank to the bottom. I can't imagine a new season.
