I was feeling a little down and was told to watch this series. The very next day and I have finished them all and feel so much better.

If you like Clarkson you will love this If you loathe Clarkson you will like it even more, and you will love Caleb

Such a simple beautiful show.

Loved the Goodfellas references.

Brilliant final episode of a brilliant new series from Jezza. The whole thing has been funny, informative, touching, absorbing, but it's also frustrating to witness just how severely that EU bureaucracy has hamstrung the British farming industry.

Can't wait for series 2.

Harvesting

Warning: Spoilers
A fitting end to a great season. The tragic farewell of the lambs, the death of poor Wayne, leaving Leonardo seemingly in genuine grief. It was tragic for the sheep but in all other regards, except only £144 of profit total it was a success. This was a one-of-a-kind series and I hope they make another.

Back to the basics

We love Clarkson's Farm. It is funny, educational, and down with the dirt! Farming is not easy and Jeremy let's us know all the snags of farming and ranching. The English accents add such flair to the whole thing! Every episode has a twist and laughs!

Jeremy says"I did a thing" when things go right.

Sex and nudity refer to the sheep hearding Language refers to the farm equipment, Celeb is the lifesaver! At 21, he knows more about farming than Jeremy ever will and nothing about London traffic. Lamborghini tractor? Jeremy wants the best!

We find that bigger is not always better

Great stuff! Can't wait 'til next season!

Seasons One Review

Another selection from the Guardian's top 50 shows of 2021 was Amazon's sleeper hit "Clarkson's Farm". At times, like it's host, the show can be a bit insufferable but, perhaps more through luck than judgement, the show ended up chronicling an historic period of time and making some important points.

Having owned a farm near Chipping Norton for several years, TV Presenter Jeremy Clarkson decides to try and run the operations of the farm himself upon the retirement of his previous manager. Enthusiastic, though lacking knowledge, he and his advisors attempt to sew and harvest a years crop, whilst simultaneously running a herd of sheep, establishing a farm shop and making environmentally beneficial improvements to the surrounding area. The year is notable for being the worst weather for farming for around 50 years and for the global pandemic to have a major effect on demand.

As with most of the shows Jeremy Clarkson's been involved with, I don't much care for the 'scripted spontaneity' moments. There are times, particularly in the earlier episodes when he pretends not to know how much grain he's ordered, for example. He's not an actor, and it really rings false when he pretends in these moments. It's a small grumble I accept, but they're particularly annoying when the rest of the show is so strong. Farming is hard, and confusing and he makes a lot of amusing mistakes either through arrogance or ignorance. He's willing though and goes on a journey of discovery as he sees the gargantuan costs of running a farm and the risks to his bottom line that relatively innocuous moments can make. It's a genuinely funny and moving show at times, as the realities of farming, particularly sheep farming, are laid bare.

The star of the show is really Kaleb though. Clarkson's young farm worker/expert who knows all there is to know about farming that land, but painfully little about anything that doesn't take place within three miles of Chipping Norton. His put downs to the man who is essentially his boss are one of the highlights of the series.

They were also fortunately that the chose to film not just in the year of covid lockdowns, but also in a year of catastrophic rainfall and blazing heatwaves at precisely the wrong times in the year that the farmer would have wanted.

A second seasons seems to be on the way, I'll be back for it.

Will use this as a review for the series... Fun, Heartfelt and Clarkson to a T

Warning: Spoilers
WIth being such a fan of Top Gear and the Grand Tour, without the other 2 blithering Idiots i didnt know how this was going to go! This was just as fun and energetic as them being together.

The heartfelt and pain that happens throughout the series and the turmoil of farming can whole heartily be felt at the end of the series when the profits are revealed. The truth of the matter is perfectly summed up by Clarkson that without Amazon TV crews propping up the rest of the farm its a hard, tiring life as a farmer.

Not concentrating on the realizations of farming in the UK this series was genuinely hilarious. His not for everyone but if Top Gear and the Grand Tour are this has to be a watch! With the announcement of season 2 i cant wait to return to the Diddly Squat Farm to see how Leo has been getting on without Wayne!

I grew up on a farm and this show nailed it
tonyandpam1 June 2023
I grew up on a farm and can attest to everything going on.

The humor in the show is great, but Jeremy and Amazon have really nailed farm life. Every day is a new test. Some days you win and other days you lose and then you get up the next day and do it again.

Thanks Jeremy for:

Lambing. Ours was a dairy farm in Iowa/South Dakota. We sold milk in gallon jugs right off the farm. You had lambs, we had Brown Swiss calves. We sold milk off the farm at our little store for $0.35/gallon (which was mostly top cream it was so rich). My grandmother stressed when grandpa had to raise the milk price to 0.50/gallon then a whopping $1.00/gallon near the end. People just kept coming to the farm to buy it. We had eggs and had a few select customers that we would raise a turkey or roasting chickens.

The goings on around the farm. I'm afraid that most people that have never really worked on a farm think that it's all about tractoring and stuff. The reality is there are tons of menial jobs that just have to be done. I remember fondly the tool used to set the fence posts. Post after post pounded into the ground then stringing wire which was sometimes an electric fence!

Harvesting. Our crops were corn, soy beans and hay. The hay was kept to feed the herd. Corn was both feed and cash if we had an excess.

Lisa's Massey. Ours was the bigger model but nothing we had was as big as the Lambo. Our little workhorse was a Ford 8N.

We had some wetlands and forest area. They were home to pheasants, squirrels and rabbits which were hunted every fall.

We didn't name the calf that we would have for supper the next year.

And all of that for 144 pounds in the year. I never knew how much my grandparents made but we and they lived comfortably but never had excess. Everyone probably laughed at

And I laughed my arse off with the Bentley.

I'm sure everyone thought Kaleb's trip to London was put on but it's not. Many farmers never go more than 50 miles from home. The furthest my grandfather ever went was to an auction in Minnesota.

I can't wait for Season 2.
