My Favourite Since Episode 11
SourCandyOrNoCandy15 April 2022
This is (in my opinion) the best episode since Day of Death. I really, really liked it. Something is stopping me from giving it 10 stars but I'm not sure what...

Best parts of the episode?

  • Emmett Lang is the most beautiful man I've ever seen. Enough said. I'm so happy that they're giving Lucy a potential love interest. And one that gorgeous? Whew. Yes please.

  • I love that Lopez got a chance to flex her detective muscles. I really liked the case she and Jackson worked on.

  • Harper and Banks' chemistry. That scene in the van gave me chills.

  • The last scene with Nolan and Grey. I love this friendship that is slowlyyyy forming. "You know what? Just a beer. I'm busy, too."

Worst parts of the episode?

  • I wish we could've seen more about the community engagement plot. It would've been fun to see a full episode about that.

  • Why are Jackson and Sterling getting on like the only house they can go to is Jackson's and Lucy's? I'm assuming he also has a house lol.

Great music choice
sgrnwd-1523614 April 2020
Destabilizing, off-kilter, and yes irritating music by Daughters just rocked it! Kept viewers on edge, totally in mood of the action. More of this please!

The Confidential Informer

Warning: Spoilers
While patrolling on the streets of LA, Nolan and Harper arrest Bianca, who is Nolan's former C. I., dealing drugs. She informs to the officers that Ripper has a large shipment of fentanyl to get rid of the prison. Sgt. Grey prepares a bust operation and when the team is ready to go, they are stopped by DEA Agent Michael Banks that explains that the shipment is hidden and the scheduled operation will be a failure. He proposes to use Bianca as C. I., but Nolan realizes that she is not ready to go. Further, he feels that Bianca has feelings on him and hurts her heart with hard words. The DEA decides to use Crystal and her old man again to lure Ripper and they prepare a new operation. But out of the blue, the brokenhearted Bianca arrives at Ripper's place. Meanwhile Lopez and West attend a dispatch call and find a murdered woman and her husband. Detective Calderon closes the investigation believing that the husband is the prime suspect, but Angela confronts her with new evidences.

"Control" is composed by two good segments. The perseverance and competence of Officer Angela Lopez is impressive. The segment with Bianca is sad and full of action. My vote is seven.

One of the most well written episodes of the show
nicolerazz9 March 2021
This episode was extraordinarily well written. The dialogue was funny and believable. The story was gripping and the action was amazing. One of their best yet. Congrats to the writers for this one.

Horrible & loud music
Windrider613 April 2020
I would have rated the episode much higher, because the story was good, but the background music was horrible and loud. During a couple of intense scenes, I couldn't hear/understand the dialog, on top of hating the horrible music. I turned on subtitles and mute the sound, but even then, the moronic lyrics were in the subtitles.

I'm not looking forward to watching "The Rookie", anymore.

Obnoxious Music
lena022013 April 2020
I do like this show but just because it takes place in LA do you have to subject the rest of us to that obnoxious loud noise.

Terrible loud music

What's with the loud pop music that drowns out dialogue?? Had to mute half the episode.

Predictable
yahaira-729-69470129 April 2024
The script is getting predictable, I forgot this is tv. They should keep this series as real drama. A police officer I happened to ask her about this show told me it's fiction . Real policing is worst. The fake romances of this season is a turn off. I guess they keep it light for tv audiences. They could really explore the real drama between cop s. These characters are weak, cute srxy ladies and nice gentleman officers. So hollywood weird dramas. Perhaps trying to keep everyone collected and cool. So all these feel good episodes are doing what-an attempt to create a cop friendly entertainment show. I guess I've watched enough.
