A good watch
iSatchit27 November 2019
After a long time we see a series made in India on a different subject and its good to watch something new on the screen. The best performer is Rasika, she leaves a mark Purab is ok, I don't think he did justice to the character. You'll love the locations where this one was shot.

Confused screenplay
dassmi8 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This is a copy an English web series Doctor Foster and looks lost in translation. Culturally Indians are lot different than British, so a lot of things look odd and weird. Which girl would let a doctor know of her personal love life on her first appointment and that too knowing that she is her boyfriend's wife? Coonoor is filled with the likes of Kapoors and Kashyaps than locals. What exactly is the point of the whole story as the cheating husband seems to be in a good space with his new wife and baby settled in a new city. He should have been down in the dumps right? Acting wise apart from Rasika and Harsh Chhaaya everyone was just okay.

Great acting by Rasika Duggal!
collinsenosh10 January 2020
The human drama is fun, not over the top. You do end up feeling the seriousness behind human relationships and the cost of cheating.

The writing is not flawless, there seems to be room for improvement.

The series survives purely on the shoulders of a great premise and great acting.

If you definitely want to watch a Hindi series go for it, not many better out there. If not there are plenty English series worth your time.

Delivers what I expected it to
shubhamdcooler11 February 2020
I don't know why so many negative reviews. What are we trying to expect from 5 episodes

I am happy with what I saw. I won't say it was mind blowing but surely better than what we are used to see in Bollywood. I'm giving a ten star to encourage content like this. I hope people do too.

Watch This for 2 Reasons: Beautiful Sceneries of Coonor and Rasika Duggal's Acting {criti-cally reviews}
criti-cally14 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
So this show is based on the BBC (UK) show 'Doctor Foster', and if you watch it you'll be like this is an exact copy, frame by frame. I don't know how they both compare as I haven't seen the British original version of this show but while the Indian Version was critically acclaimed, it didn't fair too well with the Indian audiences. Personally, I thought it was a good show, it captured your interest, was thrilling and exciting and had its suspenseful moments, and is worth a watch (given it has only 5 episodes, its nothing, kind of like watching the Irishman lol).

Rasika Duggal's acting was good and she shows potential. It'll be worth keeping an eye out for her. Purab Kohli and Meenakshi Chaudhary were average and I would say they still do have potential for improvement.

The writing is good and makes you feel the dialogues as well as connect with them, however they do fail to leave an impact. Overall, I don't remember even a single dialogue worth writing here in my quotes to remember section. So that's a part this show is definitely lacking and could have picked it up.

The Lush Green Hills of Connor, the beautiful locations, spiraling roads, homely cottages are one of the biggest attraction of this series. I'd say if nothing else, watch it just for the beautiful scenery because after watching you'll wasn't to visit Connor and its areas definitely. The cinematographer and the director have done a great job in capturing the atmosphere and scenes of Connor, making it pop out of the screen and making you experience the small quaint scenic town from your screens itself.

With the good there is always some bad, and for this series, I'd say the bad is that the storyline diverts from reality and becomes too fictional. At some moments I actually thought that the lead actress is going to go crazy or have a mental attach or something, where clearly she was just trying to express the emotions and the turbulence she was feeling. It didn't have to do much with Rasika's acting, but the nature of her character. Which brings me to the second flaw in this show. The Character developments. Very superficial. It looked as if the characters were just skimmed upon from the top, and their depth wasn't explored but still the makers were trying to extract out of their characters and it came out as something fake. The character development was truly lacking. There were so many useless characters in the show who had no purpose at all and could have easily been scraped. For example Dr. Pradhan, Meera's Doctor Colleagues, Alia's Mother, Meera's Relative in Goa etc.

The background score was just the theme title of the show repeating and can start hurting your ears after some time. I'm not saying it doesn't go well with the show, it does, but it gets too repetitive in these 5 episodes.

In conclusions, I'd just say that the show is worth a watch, has a new and fresh way to handle a cheating story and is definitely better than the crap we see in Bollywood movies. Watch it for something short, something fresh, some beautiful sceneries and Rasika's acting.

Splendid
nirantar-narayan15 December 2019
Lush green Coonor , spiral roads , beautiful cottages and a story full of love , betrayal and revenge...Tigmanshu dhulia proves that he is not only a champion of potboilers but he can handle such love hate stories too... Purab kohli looks old and lost but Duggal keeps you captivated and at the edge of the seat ... Alia kashyap is fresh and innocent... Ending is somehow weird ...The child actor playing the role of Abhi is overactive .... If you love revenge and thrill it's a perfect combination of both

Lies in the middle !!
madhukar304 September 2020
"Out of Love" is the remade version of the critically acclaimed hit series "Doctor Foster" for Indian audiences in association with BBC Studios India, and directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia. In age of OTT & web series all around us, with some of em punching above its weight and some being just dull & plain boring, "Out of love" stays somewhere in the middle. The 5 episodes web series will not set the screen on fire but will not disappoint you either if the viewer exhibits a little patience.

I have not seen the original, but the way the series is adapted to the Indian setting definitely shows some promise & certainly making it believable, at least to the person who doesn't know the story. The storyline is a banal take on infidelity. Screenplay is generally good. Direction & editing have both strong moments and as well as weak moments interlaced within. Out of love can be considered as one of Rasika Dugal's best works till date. The rest of the supporting cast merely fill in the blanks without any exceptional performances among them. But since all the characters are very well defined, it helps a lot and saves the day.

Overall, Out of love is definitely good watch for viewers without any high expectations. The show would keep up, its suspense throughout to the viewers, who do not posses any knowledge about the original Doctor Foster. Watch it especially for Rasika Duggal's fine performance and a picturesque Nilgiris.

A pile of nothing...
iamabhijeet07 December 2019
The series keeps building up but doesn't really does anything. It had potential but haven't really made any mark. Rasika Duggal was the only good thing about this series. Nothing else really works. You keep on wanting for more, thinking that something will happen. But it never goes beyond average. Not impressed.

Essay on a twisted, complex and vitriolic relationship
msunando23 May 2021
Out Of Love spans across 2 seasons and charts 10 episodes. It is a microscopic examination of a crumbling marriage and the catastrophic effects it has on those involved in matrimony and everyone else connected to it. Dr. Meera Kapoor (Rasika Dugal) and Akarsh Kapoor (Purab Kohli) have been marred for over a decade and have a happy household with their only son Abhi. Meera is a senior doctor in a popular local hospital and suddenly starts to suspect Akarsh of adultery as she finds strange clues. Eventually her suspicion comes true as Akarsh is found to be pursuing a romantic relationship with Alia, a girl half his age who is pregnant. She confronts Akarsh and decides to separate from him. The scandal breaks out in the small town and Akarsh suffers heavily financially and reputationally.

According to Gulzar Saab and through lines mouthed by Anuradha Patel in "Ijaazat", when a marriage breaks down, the relationship starts rotting and it stinks. It certainly seems true for Meera and Akarsh who spew vitriol over the custody of Abhi and their other materialistic possessions. It transforms into a war where Meera and Akarsh aim for each other's jugular and wash dirty linen in public. Akarsh leaves town for Delhi for a few years, but returns to seek revenge and oust Meera from her seemingly comfortable life. Another showdown begins with catastrophic effects, that worst hits Abhi. Meera and Akarsh constantly try to outsmart each other without considering the effects it has on other people.

Out Of Love is an immensely watchable series that deconstruction a marriage and peels down its very foundations. The dirty side of a long standing marriage is exposed leaving cracks out in the open. The series is set in idyllic and dreamy Coonoor, which looks beautiful. It's a tad bit slow in proceedings and takes time to materialise and culminate in the most obvious climax, but not before giving some heart stopping moments to the viewers. Rasika Dugal and Purab Kohli do total justice to their respective roles, whilst the others remain peripheral to the subject and relationship, with limited screen time. The only unfortunate part of the series is that although Akarsh is portrayed as a dark character without remorse, your sympathy towards Meera isn't a given as her character constantly bays for revenge, even jeopardising their son's life.

Only watch those who have plenty of time to waste!!!!
pushpakpd8 December 2019
I have given 3 stars only because of the acting of Rasika Dugal. Storyline is average. You are expecting something extra, something to watch for. But this series fails to deliver. There are plenty of characters in the story who are useless!!! The don't have any role to play in the story apart from just having some useless conversation. Like Dr Pradhan, Meera's doctor colleague, Meera's relative in Goa, alia's mother.... The dialogues are worst!!! I didn't remember a single impactful dialogue... Sometimes I could not listen what the actor/actress said!!! I had to enable subtitles to get what they said!!! Background music is horrific!!!! I guess music director has no clue which music to play on background. So only title song keeps on repeating every now and then. (Like the TV series in 90s) Apart from Rasika, all other actors and actresses seem no interest in playing their role. I don't know if they have not paid decent amount or the director failed to get best out of them.

And lastly, I didn't understand what message the director wanted to convey from this series??? That a man can 'LOVE' two women at the same time but a woman can't? Or the infidelity by men in marriage is not 'CHEATING' but 'LOVE'. But infidelity by women is not 'LOVE', but 'REVENGE' ????

Great Movie but not original!
arjundas-3482922 August 2020
You will really enjoy this movie but what I did not like about it is that it is an exact scene by scene rip off of Doctor Foster an English tv series.

You know, honey, what's the waste of time? It is that!
confidants4 April 2020
I trusted the director's vision when I sat down to watch it. Five episodes that should have been "three" in first place, in which friends are not friends and relations are not relations. Everything is superficial, lacks emotions, lacks sensitivity, lacks craft, moreover lacks the vision.

The director and screenwriter must have sat down one day for a coffee but poured wine in the glass. When the one asked, "hello, that's not coffee." The other must have responded, "oh, it's out of love, my friend." It's called Out of Love for some reason, you know.

Overrated
nileshnayak8 December 2019
The location is good , the acting is average but the story line up and the plot is utterly ridiculous. The ending has no meaning in itself , a lot of things that are shown is actually false. Expected much better
