Good episode, good message but sometimes, a little overly arrogant in it's virtuousness.

Warning: Spoilers
I think the message this series spreads, is a good one. The metaphorical trading of old gods for new gods is something we do see, though I wonder when we will see the god of simulation arise, seeing as simulation theory seems to be gaining ground quickly around the world. The effect these religions have on the world can be compared to sugar pills; where they shouldn't have real impact, they actually do on the virtue of people believing in them. The message of black history is also really important, but when Shadow Moon acted all high and mighty after that cop tried to offer his apology, that was NOT the right message. That arrogance left a sour taste in my mouth as it was completely understandable why Shadow Moon was seen as a suspect. He could have made a joke out of it, but instead they have to push the victim narrative even more. The arrogance in this message is no different from the arrogance you see in racists.

Laura Moon is back!

I came around watching the third season honestly only for Emily Browning. She is a marvelous actress. We finally got some time in show for her. This is the best episode of the season so far.

The show is getting better and better. Intriguing new character comes in, more beautifully shoot scenes, more stories just make you eager to find out what is going to happen the next. The show is full of possibility and makes your imagination go free. This episode just flys by, can't wait for the next one to come out!!!

Yeah season 2 was underwhelming, but I think season 3 is off to a good start! With new direktörü, it's best to stay optimist and hope it'll get better with each episode!

Some changes that actually work!

Eight stars. Because Demeter and Blythe Danner are such a GREAT addition. The interaction between McShane and Danner is the key emotional nugget of the whole season. And the acting of the two of them shows the sort of brilliance that only a lifetime (okay, two lifetimes) of work can attain. The Lakeside stuff is spot on, mainly because it follows the book. And the scene between Ann-Marie and Chad at the search site is an absolute high point of the season so far. It, and Shadows accidental research, are teasing us with the great town secret. Very well played. Laura, of course, is still with us. And still a condescending jerk. Her interaction with Mad Sweeney was the appeal of her character. Without him, all we see is her anger, entitlement, and false superiority. Until her last scene. Again, very well played. That it offers no answers is fine. The cliff-hanger sets up one of the most peculiar alliances of the show, and one of the few big departures from the book that actually works well. 6 March 2024.

On dear, worse episode of all the season's
namstonk25 January 2021
Why bring back the most disliked character and then pad it with worthless twaddle of how they should really feel about themselves. It's taken a big step backwards and the only assumption can be is that they needed this storyline to fill a hole in the main plot. However let's be fair, nothing much has happened in the previous two episodes of the season. Somewhat worrying for fans.
