the silence
Kirpianuscus12 September 2021
The silence after its end. This is the basic gift of this impecable short film. A confession of a raped man. Precise, dark, moving, full of nuances, splendid worked by. Aaron Clelland. All seems very simple. But the levels of this portrait of ordinary life front to a dramatic event, the changes, the presumed guilty, the shame, the broke of connections with the job, friends, the secret all are well used pieces for a powerful message. Short, a profound useful short film. Not as a case of rape, only. But as a fact keeping prisoner , having as chaines the fear/ guilty/ ambiguity of emotions/ alternatives imagined again and again/ hidden details by the loved ones, the isolation. A special film, from the theme to the craft serving it.
