A very obvious story
phd_travel1 June 2020
A crazy cousin is the wacko here. Prom is not the main plot. The cousin quickly kills her cousin and comes to stay with the family if the deceased looking after the hubby and kids. Yvonne Zima stars as the wacko. Obvious story. Everything is clearly spelt out. Okay way she cleara her path. Ending isn't too far out. A relaxing watch.

Why is a 27 year old starring in a movie as an 18 year old?
StanleyCupBruins25 September 2021
I could tell that she was pushing 30 throughout the movie. The actress was horrible and unconvincing as a teenager.

same old but its alright

This movie is just like the others that are made for tv, solely based on the fact the plot lines always seem overused. I will say though that this film was alrigtht. After mayas mother dies in a supposed accident, the cousin moves in. But can we really trust her. Maya is played by erica anderon. She does a pretty decent job with the role. I felt she could have done with more lines but she used her character well. Her father is tony, and being played by mark lutz. He felt like he was out of place for the role and belonged more in the scify film catagory as a weather person or something. Finnaly we have the cousin sienna. Yvonne zima was very over acted in this but she was creepy when it was needed. Overall a movie like others but it was still interesting to watch.

Warning: Spoilers
This is a bad and goofy movie. Sienna and Maya's actresses are closer in age than Sienna and Hannah, so how did Sienna grow up jealous of Hannah? Sienna is clearly younger and it's even more obvious with the actor who played Groo on Angel. This movie wants us to believe Hannah, Sienna, and Tony grew up together/attended high school together. Jog on, movie. From the very beginning, the premise of this is hard to suspend the necessary disbelief for.

Lots of cringe acting especially from Sienna. I'm guessing she gets roles because of her sister (yes I remember her as a kid in ER), but she's really quite bad in this. After one scene of her talking to herself, I got sick of it and contemplated turning it off. It's not a good substitute for actually acting and dialogue. If characters aren't talking to themselves, they are eavesdropping on other characters' conversations. In mirrors and bathrooms just to make it as campy as possible. It's terrible. Maya does NOT look high school age, and Lifetime has at least five actresses who would be more believable. The only actors who look the part are little bro Luke and Dad Tony.

I find it hard to believe that if Sienna was bold enough to kill Hannah the way she did (not a spoiler, it happens in the first five minutes), then there's no way Hannah was not aware that Sienna hated her. I also have trouble believing that with the obvious obsession she has with Tony, that Hannah wouldn't have mentioned it to her husband. Nothing about this movie is fun and nothing about Sienna is sympathetic. Even if the movie wanted us to believe that Hannah did have a "perfect" life and maybe Sienna had it rough when they were kids (again, they are clearly not the same age), Sienna is deranged and has no redeeming qualities. Her makeup is terrible and you know, the movie could have been interesting if the script was better. And if they hired an age-appropriate actress. But anyway, since Tony and Hannah had been together since high school, they could have allowed the family to truly mourn their wife/mom, and since Sienna wanted everything Hannah had, they could have had her be obsessed with becoming Hannah and taking over her life in every way. In the confusion of their loss, Sienna could have manipulated them all.

This movie is so bad and not worth your time. It's pretty callous that this movie breezes right by the mother's violent death. It's been mere months but husband and kids (one of whom can't be more than 10 yrs old) seem so adjusted to being without her and there's no mourning at all. No one is suspicious given that Sienna was the last person to see her alive. She essentially inserts herself into their family and no one sees anything wrong with it. Even with Mom Hannah's death being just the set up, she's still dead and no one cares.

The Acting is absolutely embarrassing and hard to watch. The script is terrible. The worst of the acting is from the one who is apart of a family of actors.

Lead Actress is SO ANNOYING
steenie-6539124 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Where do I begin with this mess? I don't understand how they keep casting Yvonne Zima in any role. Her voice is the most annoying voice I've ever heard in an actress. It's like she's trying to be sweet and sultry, but I just wanna punch her in the face. She is a horrible actress. And the characters in this movie are so hum drum and ignorant that it drove me nuts. The best actor in the movie was the poor mom who, unfortunately dies in the first scene. I really can't recommend this movie, because the acting is terrible, the plot line is terrible, the husband is stupid, and I cannot believe he would actually let the psycho live with them, after knowing she was the last person to be seen with his wife. Wouldn't they suspect that she could've killed her? Why didn't she go in after her to save her from drowning? There's no way in hell I would allow a woman who could've possibly killed my wife in my house. Stupid and not believable.

Can't say it's not entertaining!

Warning: Spoilers
The story is basically about jealousy. Two cousins, Hannah who is sweet and Sienna who is completely unstable. Their in high school and Sienna's boyfriend Roger Johnson dumps her a week before Prom and ends up asking out Hannah instead.

Sienna is telling this story to Maya, Hannah's daughter later in the movie (after she's wormed her way into their household after Hannah's 'demise', which is so shocking and sad) but omits the fact to Maya that it was actually Tony (Maya's dad) that had dumped her and asked Hannah out instead.

The actress who plays Sienna is a red headed stunner and she plays her very soft and sweet in some scenes, but then she turns on a dime, acting quietly psychotic with moments of crazy outbursts. Her goal is to replace Hannah, she wants Tony, the kids, (Maya also has a younger sibling named Luke), the house, and the money.

Sienna proceeds to 'take out' or eliminate completely, the female competition in the house. Janet the elderly caretaker of the house, who cooks, cleans, helps the children with their homework and takes them to school and back, is pretty much replaced by Sienna who takes over all these duties on the very first day. Janet immediately does not trust her and Sienna senses this and spikes her coffee one morning with something that affects Janet's long sobriety. Which in turn, does not allow her back in the house or to care for the children.

Sienna then starts to feel threatened by Lauren. Tony's very attractive blond Office Manager at where he works as a Cardiologist. Her actions are very unnerving, scary, and just plain evil to anyone who crosses her path.

Maya starts to get suspicious of Sienna and talks to her dad. At this point it becomes frustrating that he doesn't believe his daughter, which makes him the dumbest or most naive man in the world. But Sienna is that good about being duplicitous. She can shed a tear on the drop of a hat and has an answer to everything.

This all leads to Maya's (and Sienna's!) biggest event in High School - Prom night!! Maya is so excited that sweet Jake has asked her. The lengths that Sienna goes to, to replicate her own missed Prom night with Tony, is really creepy. The ending was suspenseful and had a happy outcome for all, except one person. You can take one guess who that is.

Prom Fixation Formula Film
lavatch1 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Ever since high school, Sienna Lawton was envious of Hannah, who was the belle of the ball at senior prom when Sienna was a sophomore. Hannah went on to marry Dr. Tony Wilson, a distinguished cardiologist.

For years, Sienna was seething with jealousy. Then, she acted on her sick impulses. Hannah met a watery death when Sienna pushed her over overboard knowing that Hannah could not swim. Later, Sienna tried to explain: "I didn't mean to push her!"

"Killer Prom" is a by-the-numbers formula film about a crazed obsessive-compulsive who worms her way into the life of the Wilsons. After the death of Hanna, Sienna lies about trying to get a realtor's license and moves in with the family. She administers a roofie to the nice nanny, Janet, who is subsequently fired for drunkenness. She also murders Dr. Wilson's loyal assistant Lauren because she fears competition.

Sienna has a special place in her deranged mind for the wonders of prom night. She goes through an elaborate ritual to set up the grand moment when she will become Mrs. Tony Wilson in an improvised prom setting.

But it is the perceptive daughter Maya who first gets wise to Sienna's game. Maya shrewdly phones Sienna's mother, Dorothy Lawton, and discovers that Sienna was always jealous of Hannah. The heroic Maya then alters her plans on prom night to rescue her dad from the evil clutches of Sienna.

One of the more interesting characters was Jake, the date of Maya on prom night. Jake selflessly supports Maya in discovering the truth about Sienna. Despite the routine nature of the film, the cast was great with all of the actors delivering convincing performances.

At least the filmmakers devised one of the most unorthodox prom nights imaginable that occurred at the Wilson residence courtesy of Miss Sienna Lawton.

Am I talking to me? I don't see anyone else here.

Yikes. Characters overhearing each other. Characters talking to themselves. Characters saying insanely dumb things. Great writing! I thought it was horrific when one woman talks to herself in the mirror in the bathroom. But, heh, the next woman to go to into the bathroom starts talking to herself.. Cannot stop laughing.

Worst movie I've ever seen and I've watched all the Twilight films. The script is just stupid. The actors talk to themselves to let us in on their inane thoughts, the acting just sucks. So bad.

Why?? Why?? Why??
stacypetty-8424822 August 2023
I would've liked to have seen more of a back story with Hannah, Sienna, and where Siennas infatuation with Tony began. I think the writers decision to immediately kill Hannah off wasn't very well thought out and it left nothing to really build upon. With that being said I feel the movie took a nose dive pretty quickly into it. I also think showing some of Tony's life and grief before Sienna moving in would've given the movie a little more depth and meaning. Is it just me or does it seem like Yvonne Zima who plays Sienna always plays the exact same character in every lifetime movie she is in? I would like to see her play a role in something where she has to actually show another side of her acting ability. For me her character is tired and way too needy. I'm not a fan of her style of acting in this film or really in any of her lifetime films. She comes across very phony and monotone. She has the most annoying soft spoken voice. It's hard to watch her for any real length of time without wanting to bang your head into the wall. I almost wonder if she tries to control her voice to make it sound that way or if that's really how she speaks. Noone attacks or kills someone with that meek toned & timid voice. It's like saying "Excuse me sir but I am going to rob you now so please give me your money & thank you for your time." I can't believe how incredibly unbelievable Yvonne is as Sienna. Is she supposed to be 18? Isn't she a little old for prom? Thank goodness Tony's daughter is aware & smart enough to put together that something isn't right about Sienna. She figured out pretty quickly that Sienna was infatuated with her dad & lying to the entire family about her motives. It dawned on me that the parent(s) always discount their child(ren) when they figure out something is off about the character playing the villain. I don't want to ruin it for others that haven't seen the movie but the ending is a typical lifetime ending. The good always trumps evil. The bad guy or girl either dies or goes to jail.
