"Wish in a pocket" is testament to how you can make a movie - and then have the side characters brought to life, in a heart warming manner. The phrase 'heart warming' is important because it has to be differentiated from 'believable'; because believable is a feature of the mini-series. Nevertheless, the four episodes bring so much additional characteristics to all the main characters in the restaurant.
The plot expands on the side story of the anime and adds a more heavy sentiment to the relationship between Nishida and Yoshizawa. The creators did the level best as possible with the material that was provided - with much welcome additions.
Main thing to note is the amazing performance given by Honoka Matsumoto in episode three, where she lightly slaps her face to gain control of her emotions. That would be the most notable performance in the series.
