Good production, Bad story
bokharys-2382611 August 2019
This movie was a testament how far Lollywood has progressed in cinematography, set design, choreography and lighting. But lollywood still hasn't changed from overacting and screaming. This movie was a modified copy of the 1994 British movie "Four Weddings and a funeral", and some scenes were exact copy. Fawad Khan's one minute character was inserted just to get more fame. Mahira Khan's role also didn't do justice. Songs were good, especially the Rahat Fateh Ali Khan qawali was very good. Nadeem's acting was really good. The hero Sheheryar Munawar and heroin Maya Ali were average. Rest of the cast was mediocre. I am being lenient to give this movie 5/10.

TBH it couldve been a lot better
tosifbhatti16 August 2019
I think the quaility of building the environment and songs were very good. You could feel that every thing looked very good. Humour was decent.

The rest was kind of a big dissapointment. Not the actors, but the movie's plot and story. It was veryyyyy predictive and had very weird/laughable turning points. Some scenes were supposed to be sad, but felt funny? That didnt work out. Not worth watching at the cinema, but i wouldve done it anyway just to support our industry. Excellent work by the music producers and the "setting" crew once again.

Enormous Risk with This Kind of Storytelling but the Glittering Effect makes it Worth of Your Time and Money
kshehzad15 August 2019
Once I was discussing about revival of Pakistani cinema with my friend who happens to be a big fan of South Korean movies. We know our neighboring film industry also carries extreme fondness for South Korean cinematic work to the extent that they are often found copying the same. We also discussed chances of someone from Pakistan copies from other regions then what should be the benchmark for that filmmaker. We had difference of opinion but had consensus on one point that no Pakistani filmmaker go for replicating Bollywood movies ever because it will be like the copying the copied stuff. It gives us extreme satisfaction to learn that Asim Raza who debuted with a great film like "Ho Mann Jahaan" took a different path and went for getting "inspired" from one of the best rom-coms ever."Parey Hut Love" is an unofficial Pakistani remake of Hugh Grant's "Four Weddings and a Funeral".

As an avid moviegoer I was always keen to see how a Pakistani director with the caliber of Asim Raza interprets British aesthetics for such common denominators whose taste buds have completely been corrupted by Bollywood Masala for decades. It was a tricky job maintaining a shaky balance between "Desi" sensitivities and a Western plot line because our audience may feel estranged from the plot and higher dose of Bollywood ingredient can downgrade the slick quality which has been a trademark of every better Pakistani film of this revival period. Good news Asim Raza narrowly escapes and slightly achieves what exactly he was aiming for with "Parey Hut Love" but the title of the movie could have been better.

Sheharyar Munawar, who lacks in displaying the ability of being nervous and frisky same time like Hugh Grant, plays lover-boy-next-door kind of a role which seems to be the requirement of the script to increase the acceptability of his character for the audience. And he does with an ease but element of loudness in his character could have been toned down. Overall he looks good and he performs well.

Maya Ali who won everyone in her debut film "Teefa in Trouble" mesmerizes again but this time her character becomes slightly serious. Ahmad Ali Butt who was completely unstoppable in "Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2" remains off color. Veteran actor Nadeem Baig is completely wasted and Hina Dilpazir is just repeating herself and there are scenes in which she seems overdoing. Zara Noor Abbas has a spark and deserves more brownie points. Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan appear in cameo roles.

Azaan Sami Khan proves his genes by composing one of the best melodies of the year for "Parey Hut Love". Every song has its own appeal and delight. Visuals are stunning and cinematography by Serkan Erzin and Salman Razzaq makes "Parey Hut Love" as one of the well shot movies of Pakistan. Production design and art work are magnificent and raise the bar. They just needed to refrain from product placement which is nothing but irritating.

On the whole "Parey Hut Love" is a diligent cinematic piece of work with narrative style which has never been explored before in Pakistani films. Asim Raza has taken an enormous risk with this kind of storytelling but glittering effect of "Parey Hut Love" makes it worth of your time and money.

Absolute TORTURE!!
moviebuff249110 August 2019
I went in with high hopes of possibly seeing a movie filled with an amazing story line and character development. Well this was possibly one of the worst movies i've seen. it was torturous to sit through the entire movie. Characters had no development at all. The story was all over the place. Certain dialogues made no sense in terms of the context. While every actor was made to look stunning with top notch designer dresses, Zara Noor Abbas had the worst wardrobe throughout in comparison to the other female cast members. There was way too much overacting by the lead. Shehryar Munnawar has a long way to go in terms of learning how to act, unfortunately a pretty face cannot always cut it. Maya Ali's acting was very monotonous throughout. There just wasn't a realistic aspect to this movie. Not even Ahmed Ali could salvage the movie with his comedic role (as usual). The story was an absolute disaster and the writer should be given a lesson on proper story development. The songs were somewhat good, the cinematography and the decor etc of the sets were amazing. However still not worth spending money on.

Pathetic!
talhaayaz13 August 2019
The movie has no concept of transitioning in between scenes. Background music is out of context. A lot of unnecessary scenes and overacting. Very weak plot. A pathetic experience in my opinion

Beautiful cinematic experience
khurramh12 August 2019
The movie starts a bit slow but capture pace soon. The film is emotional and if you cannot go through emotional drama then this film is not for you. There are some unnecessary scenes which could easily be cut out. Coke ads were a torture too. But overall this film is engaging and offers a great cinematic experience.

ABSOLUTE WASTE OF TIME

Oh my god. It was the second movie I watched after Superstar (which is a really lousy film), and I was disappointed to see this movie. It was a direction less attempt and they failed miserably.

rehangul-5876012 August 2019
I am not sure what other people giving low ratings are up to. They need to watch out quality of Hindi cinema for a like for like comparison. This movie was better in every respect. For me, it left a great feeling even after I left cinema. That's what I call quality of movie. All in all a memorable evening!

Decent Attempt
syed_ali-7387211 August 2019
Fantastic cinematography larger than life set and designer dresses makes the running time quite interesting Positives : 1. Sheheryar charm ( this guy has potential ) 2. Decent music ( well choreographed ) 3.Nadeem baig and hina dilpazeer 4. Too many Cameos

Negatives : 1. Week script 2. Maya ali repetitive performance 3. Second half seems dragged

Overall a nice and decent family entertainer Give a try this festive season and support paki cinema

Storyless
seventeenjan113 August 2019
Parey Hut Love has no story. The films only revolves around Shehrayar Munawar. The visuals were beautiful but Shehrayar's and Maya's acting was extremely weak. The main problem of the film is it's story which is basically nothing.

The best thing about Parey Hut Love is Morey Saiyan. It's beautifully made.

The music is really good but there should be some more songs in the movie.

A grand view of the Pakistani cinema.
AVeryLollywoodPerson13 August 2019
Shehreyar Munnawar's acting has improved alot as compared to his last movie. It was good that he was able to display various emotions such as sadness, excitement etc perfectly. Maya Ali also did a good job and she looked beaufiful in her outfits. However, her role was a little similar to her character in Teefa in Trouble. Furthermore, I feel Hina Dilpazer, Ahmad Ali Butt and Zara Noor Abbas were not utilized properly in the movie. Whatsoever, they provided bits of good comedy. The direction was top notch and it has set a new bar for Pakistani cinema. The locations, wardobes and cinematography was outclass. The songs of the movie and their choreography was perfect especially, Haye Dil Beychara. However, the story by Imran Aslam was a little weak and it could have been better. If the story was excellent, this movie could have been one of the all time best Pakistani movies of all times.

Disastrous in every way
bluestack-6491615 August 2019
The title says it all. It was actually quite hard to sit through the entirety of the movie, but I had to because I had paid good money for it. Anyways, the acting, the story, the characters, each and everything was a huge letdown. If there is any lesson to be learnt from the movies released during this Eid, it is that good looking faces do not necessarily go on to become good actors. I wish the directors of this movie would take proper coaching classes before setting out for any such adventure next time.

Why?
PanhwarAthar14 August 2019
I think all the investment was on Songs, costumes and Sets. Otherwise, there is no story or feel in this movie. Sheryar Munawar was Good though as far as Acting is concern.

Superb. BEST DIRECTION AND SONGS.
LollywoodLover13 August 2019
Acting, songs, visuals and direction is one of the finest to come out in the modern day Pakistani cinema. Maya Ali looked perfect as Saniya in the movie. Her expressions were excellent. She was actually giving the Audrey Hepburn vibes. I hope she gets to do more movies in the future. Shehreyar Munnawar looked handsome and very convincing in his role as a struggling actor. The supporting cast Zara Noor, Ahmed Ali, Hina Dilpazeer and the legend Nadeem Baig did an amazing job and they were perfect for their respective roles. However, I feel like Mahira Khan stole the show in her special appearance. She looked like a true diva in her role as Zeena. Her song Morey Saiyan gave the Madhubala vibes. Infact, she is the Madhubala or the Marilyn Monroe of the modern Pakistani cinema!!!!! The story was good too and it is one of the movies which will be loved by the youngsters in the country. And the songs will get popular among the masses too!!

Bad Acting & Bad Script Drowns the Film.
hameedahsan13 August 2019
There is nothing anyone can do when your leads cannot act or the script that is given to them is weak. Waste of time and money. This is Asim's second film so maybe he's still in the learning and experimenting phase. But our money does not grow on trees. Please experiment with short films and send your film to festivals first.

A Colorful and Beautiful Journey!
drnaziabashir17 August 2019
I have been a fan of Shehreyar Munawwar Siddiqui(actor/producer) and Asim Raza's(director) dynamic duo since "Ho Mann Jahan." Paray Hut Love" is a bigger and more colorful movie following the life journey of Shehreyar & Saniya. Beautiful destination weddings decor, dresses(by Omer Syed) and dance numbers. The story has all the elements, tastefully done comedy, struggles of an aspiring actor and demons that haunt you as a person due to traumatic incidents in your childhood and unattainable dreams. Would highly recommend it. The story could have been more stronger. Another element I must appreciate the inclusion of minorities in the movie(The Parsi family rituals and weddings). Five thumbs up!

Too hyped up
mahi_568919 August 2019
I expected a lot more from this movie after watching the trailer and songs during the films promotion period. No doubt, the visual aspect of this film is remarkable - specifically set designs and locations but the script and acting, very unimpressive. The cinematography and soundtrack definitely exceeded my expectations, however the story line not so much. I felt as though there were many plot holes which made the movie hard to understand and really get into. A lot of scenes seemed unrealistic, rushed, and overplayed and there were way too many guest appearances. The mediocre acting was not expected from most of the cast who do such an amazing job in Pakistani dramas. Also, can we please stop openly showing characters drinking alcohol in Pakistani films unnecessarily - I mean, it was so not needed in this film.

Anyways, do watch it for the visual characteristics and delightful music, but do expect a weak story line and average acting.

Worst Movie by a Worst Writer
haideraatish12 August 2019
Are you kidding ? You don't know even when to continue with fun or when to move on with the romance, even you mixed romance with death scenes. Terrible writer and i bet they did not even seen the movie themselves before releasing. Was this movie worth to be released on EID ? Take a leaf from punjab nahi jaongi and even teefa in trouble when making future movies. Simply disappointed due to lack of quality story. ARY what happended to you guys ? After success of Punjab nahi jaongi and Jawani phir nahi Ani 2, you guys did not earn enough to produce a decent movie in a complete year. I was expecting lot more good stuff from you but you have completely disappointed. MIXED EVERYTHING

Must watch for 3 reasons
SuhailandmydogK225 August 2019
Everyone should watch this movie for three reasons: 1. Clip from the lives of Pakistani Zoroastrian (Parsee) community. You will get to learn about their culture, customs, and festivals; 2. Acting of the top notch hero of the yesteryear - Nadeem Baig saheb; and 3 Awesome cinematography.

Watching it on the big screen is a must.

COPIED MOVIE, Could've Burnt My Money!
abdullahtariq-6172514 August 2019
If i had burnt my money instead of watching this movie, that could've been a better choice. I am soooooo disappointed right now. I really wanted to see a good movie. The sad part is that the whole movie felt like a copy of Bollywood. And what was with that ite,m song "Balma Bagora"? I wanted to puke in the cinema.

Dragged and weak story line
awansummiya10 August 2019
Reason I'm giving this movie 3 stars are for the aesthetics, direction and music. It got everything. A great movie should have but then it lacked the major story line and was dragged ridiculously. Halfway through the movie you think what is the purpose here and want to leave..maya acting was good but Shehreyar Munawar did a lot of over acting that he looked constipated in few scenes. Best part of the movie was Ahmed Ali Butt and Zara Noor Abbas
