I've been seeing a lot of films at festivals and most of them reflect the darkness of the world right now but Rubbish Robbers stood out as a brilliant short comedy that really shows what you can achieve in the short form. Set (almost) entirely in the rear of a truck, it's a real masterclass in directing as it flows effortlessly from one comedic set piece to another. It's all held together by brilliantly pitched performances from a great ensemble cast each of whom brings life to their character, especially Sigurd Sele whose knife-edge performance as everything goes to hell around him perfectly encapsulates what everyone in the audience is feeling. A great comedy short.
