Mixed Live, saw in theatre, was awesome
brianh-7177231 October 2019
This film is awesome. They mix the music live and in a dark room with mirrors and lights to go along with the music. Anyone who says this is a pre-recorded mix, didn't pay enough attention to the film. They aired the making of Iris before the actual film. In this they detailed the film crew and also interviewed the band. The person who does their lighting does everything by hand not just in this phone but also for their live shows. This is not commonplace as most lighting professionals will have the lights pre-recorded to sync with the show. Love the music so the film and light show was awesome. It's unlike anything I've ever seen and I highly recommend you check it out even if you're not a fan of their music. Hope this review help some people. Can't wait to see if they release this to DVD

Felt robbed at the end
jesusrz-7337311 September 2019
I don't particularly know how they can make a video about their live show and do not include the full listing of their latest album. Visually the beginning and end of this was fantastic although the drops were extremely lackluster. I don't know if it's particularly the mix given to theaters or the theater sound system but it just didn't have the Justice punch that I'm used to.

Overall it was still an enjoyable experience it just wasn't able to hit me emotionally as much through the music as a live show.

This is an absolute masterpiece...
patrickabois16 September 2019
This is an absolute masterpiece. These reviewers aren't seeing what I am seeing. Or feeling! Gaspard and Xavier have prepared for you something to be contemplated, like Gaspard noted in the opening documentary. I mean, did you FEEL the magnitude of such a light show? Did you even try to contemplate it? Do you know what that means? Did you see how the cosmic imagery is part of the art? You're supposed to take it in as art, but not any kind of art. This is art that's symbolic and evokes a response from you that I can only describe as soul-galvanizing. The colours, the cross, the reflections; what this film is is truly an experience if you're on board with art and spirituality, or, if you're at all curious about the universe. I felt palpable wonder in the theatre. As far as I'm concerned, these boys are absolute artists, let alone geniuses. Listen to Gaspard in the documentary, the one who's got the shades on and is only too glad to let the other hipster spin yarn after yarn since he can't get enough of his voice, the poor fellow. There is meaning here, ladies and gentlemen, and it flows deep. The tunes are at their tightest, let it be known, and I should know given their albums are gospel to me (like, literally). I know all of their albums inside out. This is outright mastery here, and I can't wait to see what they come out with next. They put Daft Punk to shame, that's for sure, because Justice is much less vapid. I'll leave it to you to figure out why, but this film certainly proves exactly that. Everything oozes with meaning, and that is the best kind of art. These reviews I've read here are technical, or middling, like most reviews. But make no bones about it: Iris is a mystical masterpiece. I seemed to be the only one in the theatre bopping my head every which way, and it took much strength not to belt out singing during Love S.O.S. 💗

On a side note, I surreptitiously ended up going to mass prior to this concert; actually, by accident, at this church called Notre-Dame-du-Cap, near Quebec City earlier this afternoon. I thought I was walking in for a tourist visit, but instead, I stumbled on a mass a mere minute from starting. And right behind the altar was the cross, and Jesus wasn't on there. It was this big white cross. That blew my mind. Just like in Iris. Right off the highway, for a breather and petrol, before driving in town to the theatre. And that's the first time I see a cross in a church without Jesus front and centre on there, suffering. He must of climbed down and sat down among the common people. 😁

Breaking known norms to show how music can be experienced
scheike-5316527 November 2019
One of my biggest challenges with going to concerts is the fact people are there for different reasons. Some to hang out with friends, other drunk, some to party, and then some who wants to listen to the music and watch the scene show. Now this is an issue if you are in the ladder group. This movie absolutely destroys this notion and gives you the best of the best of two days of filming in one movie. I saw them with the show live, but this experience in the movie theater was probably better than the real deal for the reasons mentioned in the beginning. This is a must watch if you are into the artistic parts of what Justice does and can do.

Not quite
tommyacton31 August 2019
Listen I love Justice but there is a lot wrong with this outing. The intro film is unessessary. It completely detracts from the purpose of the experience. Christ does it go back on. It is far too long and a massive circle . At one point I thought I was going to hear from the guy that polished the very shiny floor. The French have built a whole culture about being silent and cool but this destroys all that. If the main event started as I entered I might feel slightly differently. The main issue is that the light show is a vanity project. What people are doing visually in games, comics films made this uninspired. Billing this as a space opera is dishonest. The whole project rests upon the music alone and while they are fantastic artists it is not enough to warrant a recomendation. I understand the mount of time and effort that went into this but it does not have the impact it should and thinks that it has.

Shame, go play control instead it is visually way more impressive.

Fake performance!
The_True_Review9 September 2019
All this is is essentially a light show playing along to a pre recorded justice mix. You're put under the impression it would be a recording of an actual live show they performed but it isn't. They stand there awkwardly pretending to 'look busy' pushing buttons on mixers that do nothing and that have no signal coming in, it's embarrassing! And I felt completely robbed. Have lost a lot of respect for these guys after this. It's just a repetitive light show in a warehouse being played on a screen at home. Doesn't have the same effect to being there in person. Might have had more effect if they actually recorded themselves playing live but nope. All fake just like most of the music industry today
