Another case for Cork.

Ella Barnes is drowned, initially it appears to be accidental. Sergeant Cork receives a visit from a Mrs Simkins who is part of The Women's Protective League, who explains that Ella was due to give evidence against her employer over sweated labour.

As with previous episodes it's a murder mystery against the backdrop of working in poverty, and very early struggles for women. First of all, I particularly like the production values, this episode looks great, very nicely designed.

As a murder mystery it's nicely crafted, the story develops well, as Cork begins to unravel the layers surrounding the death of Ella.

The guest cast are pretty good, the regular cast as always are excellent. Mrs Simkins is a particularly interesting character.

It's not the most exciting or dynamic episode thus far, but it's a solid watch. 6/10
