The best part in this episode was of course the case of the homosexual man that Tony gates was taking care of as an intern. It was so engaging and sad. I usually follow the reason and agree with the doctors who believe not to try anything if they see there is no chance, but here I just couldn't. It was not just because the man's partner wanted it, but because his awful family who saw him as "degenerate" would rather see him die. I didn't want them being able to make this decision just because they were blood relatives. John Mahoney as wonderful in this part. I was really feeling for him. And I also liked the final scenes, the one where he is singing that song that must have been very touching for him. As well as to see that moment of the nephew of his partner sitting at the death bed.

From bad to worse.

We get rid of that completely obnoxious ignorant jackass Romano and instantly he is replaced by two more completely and totally obnoxious egotistical creeps, Gates and Crenshaw. Good God what is driving the writers of this series?
