That hurt...

This movie is little more than a five minute joke. Too bad nobody seems to have mentioned this to the creators. Five minutes is about how long you can suspend a sketch about Lord of the Rings characters with moronic puns for names and scatological humor. Ten minutes of this you are starting to stretch your audience's attention pretty thin. Fifteen minutes you probably start getting some glazed looks. The creators of Dork of the Rings dragged a full length movie out of this idea. This means they are either film making sadists or, more likely, they are aspiring to direct the next Police Academy movie.

I'm sure you can go look around Youtube and find plenty of Lord of the Rings parodies. I'm sure some of them are even funny, I'd definitely recommend that over wasting money acquiring this thing.

Witty and funny

I enjoyed this movie. It had a charm to it that kept me watching. Yeah, it's low budget, and a little hokie, but it had an appeal to it that was, well, fun. I thought "Ham" stole the show and laughed at most of the lines. I thought it was a little slow at some times, and a bit overly trying to be funny a certain others, but overall, I liked more parts than disliked. I had to stop my inner critic and remember, "I'm watching a parody, it's supposed to be this way." I found it saddening that some people who rated this movie didn't remember that. Half of the fun of parodies is the absolute absurdity of them. It's pretty easy to sit behind your computer and nitpick a film that a bunch of people poured their sweat, money, and hard work into. It's a completely different beast to actually go out and try to make a movie. I'm not saying that things can't be open for criticism, and everybody is entitled to their opinion, but c'mon people.. lighten up! I tip my cap to the creators of the world and wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Great film for anyone into parodies and puns!

This is a really awesome and funny film for those of you who have a warped sense of humor. It's amazing that someone would bother to buy it if they didn't already have that kind of sense of humor. I mean, it's called THE DORK OF THE RINGS, for crying out loud. The box cover and website say it all so it's foolish to watch it and then write a bad review saying it's has bad puns for names, etc. DUH!

The cast is fantastic and the production team does a really excellent job with the effects and green screen. It may not be perfect, but it is consistently funny and the action keeps moving, I never got bored at all. If you like SPACE BALLS, this movie is for you. There's no other LOTR parody like it anyway and I see it has even been praised by members of the cast and crew from the real LOTR movie which is impressive.

I'm on their newsletter list and see that they have distribution across the country through Alliance Game Distributors so look for it in a gaming/hobby store need you soon, or request it! They have lots of videos and info on their website if you want to see more about the film before buying it.

Great movie

This is the best parody for Lord of the Rings that was filmed in Michiana by Tim Richardson that I have ever seen.

The CGI in the movie is first rate. I do not see how anyone would could do a better job with his budget. Sure it is not Matrix or Star Wars or even Lord of the Rings spectacular, but there is no way that Lucas could do better on the budget.

My only criticism would be the audio. I know that Bryce and Justus did a great job with the foley and voice overs, but it lacked the polish that comes from first rate full out production.

If you are a Lord of the Rings fan - you must see this movie.
