Having finished watching season two of The Mighty Boosh, I started watching the generous extras on the DVD. This making of film takes a similar approach to that of season one by being far from serious in any regard. It is a free-wheeling film where comments are dubbed over by the thoughts of those speaking, captions of names are replaced by inappropriate personal descriptions and everyone seems determined to take the mick if they can. As such it is actually pretty enjoyable and I have no doubt that fans of the series should enjoy this film.
What holds it together though is that there is just enough in the way of interesting information about the making of the new season to justify the "documentary" tag. Well, "just" being the key word there but the footage from behind the scenes etc is at least interesting while also being funny. So overall then an enjoyable little extra that maybe doesn't provide much detail into the challenges of making the show but does provide background that is quite interesting and funny at the same time.
