Ted Learns a Lesson
Hitchcoc9 February 2017
We are finally fully introduced to Georgette, who will now be a main character. She is a shy, quiet, cute girl who appears ditzy but is really quite talented and smart. Ted starts dating her and treats her like dirt. Rhoda and Mary come to the rescue. Lou gets a chance to show his chauvinism and annoys Mary. Lou thinks that Mary should stay out of Ted's business and she sees it as a typical male thing to do. Later, they have one of those insane encounters where we can see that they know each other really well. There is also a very touching scene at the end where things finally get settled between the two lovebirds. Also, Rhoda admits that she actually went out once with Ted. Mary is incredulous. This is a nice little episode but by no means earth shattering.

The Georgette Story

Brilliant from start to finish. Many laughs and a great story.

The talented and funny Georgia Engel was fantastic as Georgette so it is no surprise that in only her third appearance it is all about her.

A real turning point for the series as after this Georgette becomes a real presence and some sympathetic angles to the self-centred Ted begin to emerge.

Toxic Victim Blaming
GholamSlayer30 August 2019
Everything was going nicely for the first two-thirds of the episode, the guys were being a bit jerky, especially Ted, and Mary was valiantly sticking up for Georgette. All of sudden, we take a sharp turn, and now everyone is blaming Georgette for guys treating her like crap. Ted doesn't ultimately learn anything (which is done with a final throw-away joke), and none of the other characters do either. Victim blaming at its finest. This has not aged well at all.
