This was a tense episode most of the way as our two leading guest actors - Ida Lupino and James Whitmore - are trapped in a log cabin with an assassin outside trying to kill them. How do they fend this guy off? At first, it's just "Louise Brandon" (Ida) that's in trouble as a hired killer is sent to make sure she gives up her land and property after she is accused of cattle rustling, which isn't true. They killed her husband and now they want her, or her property which she isn't about to surrender.
She winds up on the run, literally, and ends up in Whitaker's house (cabin). While he's not thrilled at getting inadvertently involved in this violent predicament, he winds up helping her.
As with actors of that quality, they make the story a good one.
