The Weather Control Device
claudio_carvalho3 September 2015
Jack, Sam, Daniel and Teal'c return to a primitive planet to examine a device capable to control the weather left by aliens to the inhabitants. However, the natives inform that the SG-1 has stolen the device and now they are freezing. They return to the SG Command and discover that the weather on Earth is abruptly changing. They suspect the National Intelligence Department has sent agents to the planet to steal the device and now is performing experiments to learn how to use it. Further, they suspect that the NID has activated the second Stargate from Antarctica. Will the SG-1 be capable to save the natives from the freezing planet?

In "Touchstone", the conflicts between the SG Command and the NID reach a top, with the NID using agents posing of the SG-1 to steal a device important for the survival of an alien race. The plot has action and suspense and the plot is well resolved with the second Stargate moved to the guard of the SG Command and the SG-1 saving the planet from extinction. My vote is seven.

Enter the NID!

Warning: Spoilers
Ah, yes, here we have the NID becoming villains in their own right (I say this because while they may have been a pain in previous episodes, this is the first one where they were the instigators of whatever problem SG1 had to solve.) I came into this episode expecting it to be kinda campy (I mean, a weather control device?), but it overcame my expectations to be a surprisingly good thriller.

Creative Episode- May contains spoilers

Warning: Spoilers
*** May contain Spoilers*** Jack and Co embark on a journey to a planet which is somewhat backward technology wise. However, they are in possession of a device that has been calibrated to control for perfect weather all year long. Now wouldn't that be nifty to have on earth! precisely my thoughts and that's why someone came through the second stargate and stole this weather device. Even after the episode was over we are not told who conspired to make this happens but it seems like the order came from way above and may even involve the United States president.

Well something special about this episode is an appearance by the gorgeous Tiffany Lyndall-Knight. She plays as the daughter of the other planet's ruler mostly holding his arm and supporting him. She is beautiful in all the scenes especially in the last one after the team save the day. She gets planet of camera then which is not something we see this show focusing on.

An interesting episode in bringing a new dynamic to the series. The storyline unfolded in unpredictable ways and set up for further development. Decent acting and great effects.

Unique internal mystery episode

Really liked this episode! Improvement on the previous episode and makes a great 'filler' though I feel bad calling it that. Really enjoyable episode that is a breath of fresh air from the tradional episodes.

He kinda forgot how

Warning: Spoilers
I don't understand how O'Neil messed up so bad in the warehous/hangar. Yeah, capturing the enemy wasn't his orders, but he is supposed to be a veteran that participated in some shaddy operations in his career, as he admited in a previous episode. Then how is it possibpe to let the people that had the 2nd gate get away?!?! He didn't even took their guns, or have someone check the back of that suspicious truck? How about handcuffs, or zip ties?

I don't remember much or any of the episodes since i was very young when it aired on tv and whatever episodes i watched back then were most likely random. My attitude was "imma watch some tv and see whats on. Nothing, nothing, nothing, SG-1, nothing, nothing....imma watch sg-1".

All in all, i bope the writers did that so a plotline can be developed.
