The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power: Udûn (2022)
A great episode made possible by the preceding ones
All the prior episodes that people complained about being slow or boring were setting the mood and character depth leading up to this great episode. So have patience young generation, good shows build up slowly, characters develop, mood is set, then you have a good show. It can't all just be about fighting and grunting, a story needs to unfold.
Pay no attention to comments from viewers or to bad ratings by people who just want to see sword fights and battle horns. This is the fantasy genre, and it is best shown and told the way we see it in this show. This episode combined and put together all the hard work of the prior ones into a masterpiece, it silenced a lot of vain critics.
Inventing Anna (2022)
Everything that's wrong in TV today, all in 1 place
Spare yourself the agony of bad filming, bad script, bad music, terrible acting, and trashy plot. The most annoying and obnoxious personas acting out the same plot over and over. I'm baffled at how many episodes revolve around the same aspects. The characters keep repeating the same dialogue every episode and three are some of the most flat one dimensional characters you'll see on tv. It is the most predictable of scripts and events. Things make no sense and they're dramatized for extra effect to the extent that they're not believable or relatable. Never ever watch this show if you value your time.
The Man in the High Castle: Fire from the Gods (2019)
Season 4 is the best one: ignore all ratings and watch
Amazing series and build up all the way to season 4 which shines above all the rest. The characters feel and act real. Their reactions are genuine, and the plot is very captivating until the very end.
Enjoy this watch and don't pay any attention to those negative ratings. People are just upset the show ended and wanted to give it a bad rating because they can.
Deja Vu (2006)
A fantastic movie - stop being harsh critics of sci-fi(s)
What a shame that people are so harsh in rating science fiction movies when stupid chick flicks are getting high sevens and eights. This master piece movie is averaging a seven barely. Unfair.
The acting, mood, music, character development, are all top notch. The plot is rich with sensical progression and has unexpected twists. Denzel puts on a masterful performance. The characters are all pleasant and natural, you really think this happened.
Highly recommended. Do not miss this movie.
12 Monkeys (2015)
An awful series where nothing happens
In a nutshell, this is, hands-down, one of the worst science fiction time travel shows that I have ever watched. It is a show where you have to ignore plot, character, entertainment, and thought processes in order to enjoy it.
Having watched the whole thing from start to finish I can safely say that the only purpose and goal is to drag it longer. Events only occur due to the flimsiest circumstances which have nothing to do with plot. A worked out plot will play itself out and at the end an action scene happens, the dead character somehow moves wake up and does something to undo the entire plot.
Characters work out a whole plan and then seemingly forget a portable time travel suit near their prisoner, just unluckily and he escapes :D
.... they work out a whole plan to destroy someone in the past and then forget to take a weapon with them. Dumb stuff like that dominates the entire plot. You dont need a silly action scene to determine what happens. Sci fi is about the mind, the creativity.. dont make it about a silly event.
You have to remember that the only purpose here is to prolong the show just adding fillers until you get to the finale. If you remember that, only then will you understand the show and things make sense. I wont even start talking about the characters and their awful facial expressions. Never in a million years do you believe that they are time traveling. It's like when you tell a new actor not to stare at the camera but he cant do it. These actors know they're being filmed and they never take on their roles.
If you appreciate your time and have anything better to do in life, do not watch it.
The Handmaid's Tale (2017)
Don't watch this garbage
A show where plot and events don't matter. Repetitive sequence of non-events and fillers until the season finale where notable things happen. Every major event is then subsequently undone to restart a cycle of time waste. Characters flip 180 degrees with no apparent reason and every attempt and you can clearly see through every fake attempt of a plot or event. The events always lead up to something but then the opposite happens; unless it's the season finale. The rest of it is all background music/songs with facial expressions. So they zoom in on someone's face and music is playing; as a substitute to acting.
La casa de papel (2017)
Cheesy, irrational, fake
One of the worst shows I have seen. Terrible acting, irrational plots with no logical progression, cheesy side plot discussions, you name it. Actors start crying for no reason, daddy/mommy issues spring up in the middle of a robbery, they bicker with each other nonstop in useless side plots. Don't waste your time.
Vikings (2013)
Poor
Only seasons 1-2 are worth watching. I got to season 4 watched the first episode and will now quit. Recycling plots. There are no characters.. they are so flat initially with limited personalities. Then to counter that they become completely unpredictable turning on each other for no reason. It's tedious.. there's no flow or consistency. Whoever made this is only out to get that shock factor. Many scenes now don't add up to the plot but are just shot to fool the viewers and have them surprised. Don't waste your time
Star Trek: For the World Is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky (1968)
Great Episode
This has everything you'd want to see in a Star Trek episode. Mystery, exploration, encounter with unknown, and a personal insight into one of the characters which lets us know him/her better. I thought this was one of the better episodes and quite enjoyed it.
Pi (1998)
Awful
A cocktail of disturbing images and sounds. This is meant to be deep and abstract story but it fails in delivering that. The disconnect between events and various scenes don't add up. I tried hard to enjoy this but couldn't. A sat back and chilled but it annoyed me. The sounds and graphics have me a headache,p. The black and white doesn't help either. Wouldn't recommend it for any occasion
Stargate: Atlantis: Inquisition (2008)
Garbage episode
A filler episode of the worst kind that defies all logic and is only meant to antagonize and tease viewers. Facts are altered and presented in dumbed out fashion.
The episode is an insult to the viewers' time. Regurgitated material. If you skip this episode you will not lose anything,
Stargate: Atlantis: Thirty Eight Minutes (2004)
frustrating to watch
I don't know who directed or wrote this script. The dynamic seems to be that the characters argue among each other. is there no other way to tell this story besides constant bickering. they are trapped in a deadly situation and all they can do is argue and fight among each other like children in high school. I just finished SG1 and this atlantis is vastly inferior to it.
Stargate SG-1: One False Step (1999)
Creative, imaginative
May contain *** SPOILERS***
This is a very creative and imaginative stand alone episode that gives us a breather from the rest of the story line. A breath of fresh air where science, archeology, evolution, and medicine are creatively intertwined. Episodes in science fiction do not necessarily have to have guns and shooting and lasers. This is simple creativity where the travelers arrive in a planet with human like inhabitants who start to get sick the moment jack and co arrive. They appear peaceful but are unable to communicate or speak to one another in words. One by one they seem to collapse but peacefully touch each other and have a sad look on their face. They don't get aggressive and allow Daniel to communicate with them and help them.
I won't give he episode away but the interaction between the SG1 team and the natural beings of this planet is great to watch. The apprehension.. subtle suspense and conclusion is soothing to tune it and follow. Not your classic Stargate episode but I thoroughly enjoyed it and give it a high score.
Stargate SG-1: Touchstone (1998)
Creative Episode- May contains spoilers
*** May contain Spoilers*** Jack and Co embark on a journey to a planet which is somewhat backward technology wise. However, they are in possession of a device that has been calibrated to control for perfect weather all year long. Now wouldn't that be nifty to have on earth! precisely my thoughts and that's why someone came through the second stargate and stole this weather device. Even after the episode was over we are not told who conspired to make this happens but it seems like the order came from way above and may even involve the United States president.
Well something special about this episode is an appearance by the gorgeous Tiffany Lyndall-Knight. She plays as the daughter of the other planet's ruler mostly holding his arm and supporting him. She is beautiful in all the scenes especially in the last one after the team save the day. She gets planet of camera then which is not something we see this show focusing on.
